About REPEAT:

From New York Times bestselling author Kylie Scott comes an irresistible new romance.
When a vicious attack leaves 25-year-old Clementine Johns with no memory, she's forced to start over. Now she has to figure out who she was and why she made the choices she did - which includes leaving the supposed love of her life, tattoo artist Ed Larsen, only a month before.
Ed can hardly believe it when his ex shows up at his tattoo parlor with no memory of their past, asking about the breakup that nearly destroyed him. The last thing he needs is more heartache, but he can't seem to let her go again. Should they walk away for good, or does their love deserve a repeat performance?

Clem and Ed had a relationship, it was deep and it was meaningful...and it ended badly, leaving harsh memories for one of them...and a gaping hole for the other, as Clem was in an accident and has lost her memory.

From the beginning, you can tell there was a strong history with them, that they were more than casual, and that their break up (initiated you discover by Clem) left both of them wrecked and heartbroken.

For the first part of the book, the relationship was in flashbacks, in the memories, in the heaviness of the encounters between Ed and Clem as both of them tried to find their way through a past that only one of them remembers.

Watching them put the relationship back together was compelling. Ed was largely driven by his fears of what happened happening again, and Clem by her fears of not knowing how to avoid what happened and, as a result, not really knowing how to avoid it happening again was compelling and it made for a story that was interesting, one that felt fresh and different, and unlike anything else I have read.

It's difficult to build a relationship and a romance when one of the characters comes from a completely different place than the other, and it could have been easy to disengage the reader, to bore them by not having enough of a connection to the characters and their current relationship to be willing to enjoy their story in the present. But, this never happened. I was interested and engaged in the story the entire time, and I was hoping for them to get their happily ever after.

Also, while i can't get into the specifics without spoiling a large part of the plot, I liked the way her accident and her amnesia were handled, the way it was tied together and resolved without leaving a gaping hole at the end of the story.

I enjoyed and recommend this title.
