Whitney and Lincoln, in some ways, were exactly what I was expecting. But in others, I was totally surprised. This, I think, is the hallmark of good writing and plotting. Some parts are predictable, because you get to know the characters and how they react, think, and feel. And that leaves open space for the surprise, for the things that, just like in life, happen and catch you off guard.
There were places that were a little dramatic...but that was part of the fun of the ride of this book, and the entire trilogy.
Specifics are tough, as talking about plot points means I might ruin a twist or a surprise in a previous book...especially as one of the pivotal parts of this book is actually the cliffhanger of the second title.
Definitely not a standalone, you need to have read the others to enjoy this one...and enjoy this I did.
