Stephen and Skye meet when he is staying in the property she is in charge of upkeep for...and, he is there earlier than expected, so he is a bit of a surprise to her, and their meeting is one that neither was at their best for.
Lots happens to them, and there is a lot to work through. Her ex and his family wanting them to be together, the things he is dealing with regarding his father, and a bit of a surprise that ends up changing everything for them.
I struggled a little with this one. I think there was too much going on for me to fully feel that I was engaged in the relationship. And, once I was finally really feeling connected, something else was added into the relationship.
For a novella to really work for me, I need to be able to feel fully invested in the characters even though it is a shorter story. I never quite got to this point...although, that said, I did still enjoy this title and I recommend it.
