COMBUST BY K. BROMBERG-REVIEW TOUR

Combust, an all new sexy and emotional standalone by K. Bromberg is NOW AVAILABLE!

From New York Times Bestselling author, K. Bromberg, comes the second standalone book in the Everyday Heroes series. Just how hot will firefighter Grady Malone turn up the heat?

Songwriter Dylan McCoy has been burned. By her boyfriend she found in her bed . . . with someone else. By the contract she signed that obligates her to work with him until the songs for his new album are complete. By her agent when she asked Dylan to keep their breakup on the down-low. When she finds herself in Sunnyville, she refuses to let her new roommate burn her too. Still . . . a rebound has never looked so good. That’s her first thought when she sees firefighter Grady Malone. Sexy. Charismatic. Unapologetic. He’s a man who carries his own scars—the ones on his back, the survivor’s guilt on his soul, and the fear in his heart. When an unexpected visitor puts their roommate status to the test, will their undeniable attraction burn out, or will they both take a chance and play with fire?

Ms. Bromberg made me cry.

Again.

Seriously, again.

This author, with her amazing characters and great story-lines with people I care about. I can't help but get teary. There is a scene, one that I am not going to give away, where a character mentions the number 7...BAWLING. Nope, no spoilers here, but you will know what I mean when you get there...because you will be crying.

Dylan and Grady have both had some things happen in their lives that have left them a little damaged, and a little broken. But, this is what makes them appealing and it makes them human. I related to Dylan, to the woman hurt by the man she still loves...struggling to move on, to not get stuck in the past, and to find the strength to NOT go back.

Grady is stuck in the past. He's trying to move forward, but he is still trying to come to grips with what happened, as the events in his past are the ones that come back in dreams, and in situations that are similar, and in days at the park when you see a person in the crowd who reminds you of what you have lost, through their connection to that loss.

So, all the angst and the crying are, as always with Ms. Bromberg's books, totally worth it. Because, with the angst you also get the joy. When your heart is connected and in your throat in the hard times it makes the romance, the sex, and the love that much easier to connect with.

This book is the second int he Everyday Heroes series, and while interconnected it can be read as a standalone. While I definitely recommend you start at the beginning, you can start here too.

I recommend this title.

K. Bromberg has done it again. Combust took me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions-from hot and sexy, to heartbreaking and sweet. I laughed, sighed, cried and oh my God did I swoon. Once I started this book I couldn't put it down and I know this is one I'll definitely go back and read over and over.

Dylan is probably one of my favorite heroines from this author to date. She's funny, she's smart, she's vulnerable and she's real. She has insecurities (don't we all) that she battles constantly. But this is the kind of woman that we all are to a degree, so I truly felt I could relate to her and what she was going through. I liked that she was a little bit Hollywood...and a little bit not. It was a fun balance. I loved watching her evolve into the person she became by the end of the book. That smart, funny, sassy woman was still there but she's just a bit...more.

Grady Malone. Oh. My. God. This man had me melting and turning into a big puddle. He was hot, sexy but had his own share of demons. My heart broke for him over and over throughout this book. Grady's a fireman, and that absolutely makes him an everyday hero to me. This man drove me to tears more than once but I absolutely understood and adored him.

Put these two together and the sparks just fly. They snap and sizzle off one another and when they finally do come together? I'm not kidding, have a back up e-reader at the ready because they are simply scorching. Their story was authentic and completely believable to me. I loved seeing them outside the bedroom (don't get me wrong, the sex is hot!!!) learning about one another and helping each other grow. I was rooting for them throughout the book.

I loved the secondary characters here-all of them. The Malones, the firefighters, Desi. They each play an important role throughout the book but none of them overshadow Dylan or Grady. They simply enhance the story a bit.

The pacing of this book was spot on. The writing was fantastic. The situations were real and completely plausible. This is a book that pulled at all of my emotions-and I loved every one I went through. This author's books always have a message, a phrase that sticks with me well after I've finished the book and Combust is no different. It's more than just a romance. I'd give this more than five stars if I could-it deserves it. I absolutely recommend this title.
