So, what happens when your fantasy, your teenage crush, singles you out..as an adult...at a concert? Eli and Heather meet when his band is performing. And, they share a moment, and they hookup. You see that coming from the beginning...and, I love that Corinne Michaels lets this be awkward. I love that she lets the attraction to Eli be that of a crush, of the performer. And, I love that their initial encounter is that of a groupie and a celebrity.
Yes, there is more. And they know this from the beginning. But, they are reluctant to act on it for a lot of reasons, both internal and external.
Watching Heather and Eli work through this, struggle with how they feel with one another, while dealing with some other things made for a very compelling read.
I loved the foreshadowing in this novel. Events that happen later are so well laid out that, when they happen, you feel like you missed something not figuring it out, as all of the clues were there. I love when a book is so well written that you get to the end and feel that all of the bases were covered, all of the emotions were addressed, and that you were part of the beginning of a relationship with people who will be together until the end...thorough the good and the bad.
And, if I can borrow Eli to have just a quick conversation with an ex in my life, well that would be good too.
