I love, love, love second chance romances. I love when friends (or sibling's friends) turn into lovers. This book had some of both-along with some other things I loved.
Liam and Sophie have been apart for seven years, ever since Sophie left to pursue a career in dance after high school. She returns home-not knowing that Liam is still in their hometown. However, once these two see each other again there's no doubt that the spark is still there between them.
I liked Sophie a lot. I felt I could connect to her on a very personal level. She's stronger than she would ever think, stuck with a family trapped by their own demons and she still grows and is her own person. I loved her relationship with her niece. Her chemistry with Liam is off the charts hot.
Speaking of hot, Liam...well Liam is definitely a hot, alpha male. I loved watching him with Sophie. He took charge in such a delicious way. He knew just how to handle her and I loved it. I certainly wouldn't mind spending some time with him.
What I did have a hard time with was some of the supporting characters and their issues. I feel like some were too involved in the story and somewhat took away from Liam and Sophie's journey. Sohpie's mom in particular drove me up the wall much more than I anticipated or appreciated.
This wasn't my first Callie Harper book. It won't be my last. If you're looking for a quick, second chance romance I would recommend this book.
