SOMETHING SO PERFECT BY NATASHA MADISON-BLOG TOUR

Matthew

Drafted first round pick when I was seventeen, playing first line at eighteen, branded NHL's bad boy at nineteen. At twenty-three I was cut from the team and living back home with my parents. A knock on the door brought an opportunity I couldn’t turn down. All I had to do was prove I learned from my mistakes, so no way would I fall for a chick with a pouty mouth even if I wanted to spend all day devouring it.

Karrie

When my father gave me a job, I had no idea it would be to babysit some washed up NHL player. He wanted me to be his chaperone, his overpaid babysitter. I thought it was a joke. Then I met him, Matthew Grant. I wasn’t prepared for this particular bad boy. He’s not only hot but he’s arrogant and kinda sweet in a 'you make me crazy' kind of way.
Basically now that he’s finished screwing up his life, he’s decided to turn mine upside down.

She’s the first thing I’ve ever wanted more than hockey.

He’s the guy I know I should stay away from.

But what if this thing that started out so wrong turns into something so perfect?

Natasha Madison is a newer author to me and I'm glad I found her. I love a good sports romance so when I saw that Something So Perfect had a bad boy hockey player involved? Sign me up!

I truly liked Karrie. I thought she was a strongly written female-and I love that. She was smart and sassy and I loved her relationships with her family. She's the kind of friend everyone wants to have, someone who is going to stick by you and tell you like it is. I really enjoyed her.

Matthew ran hot and cold for me at times. When he was hot, he was HOT. I think I just needed to remind myself of his age at the time of some of the events in the book and then I could understand him a little bit more. He's cocky for sure but he also has a streak of vulnerability in him and that endeared him more to me.

These two together are smoking...but they're also comfortable with one another. I appreciated the banter between them as much as I appreciated the sexy times between them, which I think is important. I believed in their relationship.

I did have a bit of a problem with how something was handled-and I won't get into specifics so because I don't want to spoil it. There's an issue at the beginning of the book that is resolved in the end but I think it was rushed through. I wanted a little more time spent on that, personally.

I enjoyed this book overall, as I've enjoyed this author before. If you like hot, fun, sports romances I'd definitely give this a try. I look forward to reading more from this author.

This is the 4th book I have read by Natasha Madison, and as always, I enjoyed it overall.

Matthew and Karrie are thrown together as Matthew has some issues with being properly behaved when not on the ice, and Karrie is the boss's daughter and an excellent candidate to work as a chaperone, as her father puts it, in an entry level position. Needless to say, this is not the position she sees for herself.

Karrie was interesting, and I liked her. I liked the relationship she had with the people in her life, with her friends, and how she cared about them fully. I liked that she was willing to put herself on the line for them, to step out of her comfort zone. She was interesting, and she was funny.

Matthew, however, seemed a little uneven to me. At times he was incredibly intense and mature, and other times he came across as really young. I know, this is true life, people don't always react perfectly to each situation, but for some reason, this made the story seem a little unbalanced.

I also had the same issue with the situation at the beginning and the quick resolution of it...I thought the build up of the event was not balanced with the resolution.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and the characters and I was able to relate to them, mostly. I do recommend this title, and I will definitely read this author's next title.

“Okay,” Robert starts, “we have your contract here. It’s a one-year contract for two point one million, as per your agent.” He smiles at me because I don’t have an agent. I have Cooper. “We also have the stipulation clause. I know last time you weren’t happy with some of them, but it’s the only way we can both win.” He opens the folder in front of him. “You will be living in a brownstone in Brooklyn.” The page flips over while he continues to read. “Your chaperone will live with you.” He looks up, waiting to see if I’ll say something, and I almost say fuck off. “It’s a three-story brownstone. You each have your own floor to do as you please.”

I nod at him. It isn’t as bad as I thought and maybe me and my roommate will be each other’s wing man. “Your chaperone will be at your side each time you go out. Especially, game day and traveling. Of course you will each have your own room when traveling, but it will be connecting.”

“I hope this guy is up for Netflix and working out.” I smile at them, my hand itchy to sign the papers before I call it all off.

Doug gets up, going to the phone on the table, pressing a couple of buttons. “Can you come to the conference room, please?” He hangs up right after.

“If you mess up even once, your contract is null and void,” Doug says, sitting down just as the door opens and I turn my head to stare at the person who just walked in.

“You?” I stand up, looking back at the other people at the table. The chick from the gym walks in, this time wearing black tight pants and a white button-down shirt, rolled up at the wrists. “Is this a joke?”

“I can assure you I had the same reaction when I was asked,” she says sternly. “I don’t want this any more than you do, but it is what it is.”

“She tried to pick me up yesterday.” I put my hands on my hips, telling the table.

“Are you insane?” she huffs out, her voice rising. “You and your anatomy landed on me.” She looks at Doug. “Right in my back.”

I roll my eyes at her.

“Karrie,” Doug says, looking at her.

“What?” She shrugs at him. “He couldn’t even contain himself, and he thinks I tried to pick him up.” She looks at me. “You wish.”

I pfft out. “Please, one word and you would have come home with me.” I look at the men in front of me. “You guys can’t be serious.” I then look back at Karrie. “Besides, how old is she? Twelve?”

“Pervert. I would have pulled the fire alarm and kicked you in the nuts.” She crosses her arms over her chest, making her tits strain against the buttons. “Either way you would have ended up in the same place. Alone. With bruised nuts.”

Robert slaps the table. “That’s enough, you two.” He looks at both of us. “Now, you two have a lot of catching up to do. I will forward you both the travel schedule.” He stands up, grabbing the papers, and slapping me on the shoulder. “Good to have you.”

Coach Dan gets up also, smirking at me while I stand here speechless that they allow a girl to chaperone me. Not just any girl, the hottest fucking girl I’ve ever set eyes on. I had to take care of myself three times since I stumbled on her.

“You two try not to kill each other.” Dan looks at Karrie. “Be good, sweetheart.” And he kisses her cheek.

“Really?” I throw my hands in the air. “Does no one think this is a ridiculous idea?” I look around the room and the only one left is Doug, who gets up.

“I think it’s the best thing to ever happen to you.” He walks over to squeeze my shoulder. “But if you make my little girl cry”—he leans in, whispering—“they won’t find your body.”

My mouth opens and closes, and then opens again, not a sound coming out.

BEAUTIFUL MISTAKE BY VI KEELAND-SPOTLIGHT

Beautiful Mistake by Vi Keeland

The first time I met Caine West was in a bar.
He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out.
When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight—telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass.
You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend--smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married.
He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done.
Especially when that lazy smile graced his perfect face in response to my rant.
Only it turned out, the man I'd just told off wasn't the right guy.
Oops. My mistake.
Embarrassed, I slunk out without an apology.
I was never going to see the handsome stranger again anyway, right?
That’s what I thought…until I walked into class the next morning.
Well, hello Professor West, I’m your new teaching assistant.
I’ll be working under you…figuratively speaking.
Although the literal interpretation might not be such a bad thing—working under Professor West.
This was going to be interesting…

Vi Keeland is a one click author for me and books like Beautiful Mistake show why that's the case. I practically devoured this book. I tried to slow down with it but I was hooked from the first paragraph and never looked back. I laughed, I swooned, and I cried. This book was simply incredible.

Rachel, our heroine, is so sharp and sassy that you can't help but love her. I facepalmed on her behalf in the very first chapter but I love how she handled herself. I felt a connection to her-one I didn't figure out until the day after I'd read the book-and then I was even more in love with this character. I loved her wit, her humor and her heart.

Where can I find a Caine West? From the moment we met him I was head over heels for him. He was sexy, smooth and smart. So, so smart. Was he secretive? Yep, and I wanted to know all of his secrets. I loved how he developed through this story and he absolutely had me in tears-twice.

There's an undeniable connection between these two characters. I loved the push-pull between them; it was a necessary evil given their positions, but oh the sexual tension just oozed off the pages. But it was more than sex, too. There was a mutual respect and admiration, a level of which you don't often see in romance novels. Do characters like each other? Yes. But what these two went through to be together was so much more. It was incredible.

The writing here was flawless. I loved how there were flashbacks, I loved the dual POV. Getting inside these characters and feeling the way they felt? Perfection.

I don't often cry when I read but this book touched me and had me in tears more than once. The characters, the situations everything was so well written that I was swept away into the story and didn't want to come back out. I absolutely loved this story and would highly recommend it.

I just landed my dream summer gig: working as a production assistant on TV’s smash-hit reality show, Ever After. Two months of sun and fun at the beach? Sign me up! Until the moment I come face to face with this season’s bachelor, racing’s bad boy Dash - aka, the mysterious hottie I just hooked up with at a creepy motel off the I-80.

Soon, the action is heating up off-screen. But between ratings-hungry producers, back-stage drama, and twelve of the most cutthroat glamazon contestants known to womankind, I’m in way over my head. Can I find my happily-ever-after, or will it be lights, camera, heartbreak?

The Bachelor gets a rom-com twist in Katie McCoy’s hilarious, sexy new read!

I enjoyed this title overall. It is light, and it is a romantic comedy, and those elements kept the book fun and also moving along fairly quickly from plot point to plot point, although at times a little too quickly over things that maybe could have had more explanation.

I loved the idea that Dash was "The Suitor" and that Paige an production assistant on the set...essentially a modern day royalty and commoner romance that was fun to watch them navigate. I liked the set up, the fact that it made them explore the attraction that was between them when they met on a flight.

The humor was a lot of fun, and the missed opportunities for them to have time together added a humor and a frustration to their relationship.

All in all, I enjoyed this, but at the same time, it felt like there was something lacking in the relationship and the connection between Paige and Dash. not enough to ruin the book, but enough to make this feel like a very light romance without a lot of emotion. This is often the case with the romantic comedy genre, as a lot of time is spent in the development of the humor, so it's not necessarily something that was a surprise, but I did feel that it took away from the emotional connection I felt for their relationship.

I still enjoyed it, and I do recommend the title.

This was a fun book, and a quick, light read. I've read some heavier books lately and this rom com really lightened things up for me. I enjoyed the peek into the world of reality TV as well. I confess I never watch reality dating shows but I sure like reading about them.

I liked the concept of this book. The contestant of the a hit reality show falling for someone on the crew? kind of fairytale-esque and I really enjoyed that. I liked both Paige and Dash as people. I enjoyed them together. They had a good rapport, a good banter, but I wanted just a bit more. I wanted a little more depth from Paige, and feel if I had gotten to know her a little better I would have enjoyed this book even more.

The writing here was smart and quick. The plotting moved along fairly well, but again, because I wanted to know more about Paige there were some things that I think got glossed over. I did love the supporting characters here. They enhanced the story between these two in all the right ways.

If you're a fan of reality TV you're going to like this behind the scenes peek into that world that this book gives. This was a fast, light read, perfect for the summer. I do recommend this book.

Spoilers are mean, awful, nasty little things. And, I hate them. Unfortunately, to really be able to fully review this title, they would be necessary...and I am just not going to go there, so this is going to be a vague review.

Kace is wonderful. He is compelling, interesting, and has one of the best and most developed characters backstories that I have ever read. It is the perfection of this story that makes him incredibly compelling and allows the reader to understand why Willow is so drawn to him, why the attraction is instant, and why it lingers even years later.

There are moments where you heart jumps; there are moments that make you absolutely unwilling to put the book down; there is an ending that is absolutely perfect, both for the book and for the characters.

The writing in Elusive is dynamic, it pulls you into the story, and it keeps you there. Are there areas where you have to suspend disbelief a little bit? Of course there are, because it is a pirate book. And, we all read books about pirates because, well, they are pirates. And, they are over the top, and kind of grouchy, and tough to get to know, and a little difficult...which also makes them men. :)

The bottom line is that this is a well written, well paced and perfectly developed book.

I definitely recommend this title.

So I have a secret. Until this year I had never read a pirate book. Gasp! I don't know what held me back, but based on a recommendation from my blog partner I decided to give them a shot-and spoiler, I really like them! Now, that's the last spoiler you'll see in this review.

I loved this story. Literally from the first page I was hooked. Now, I have to be vague because to be anything other than that would mean my review would have spoilers-and nobody likes a review with spoilers. So here's what I *can* tell you.

This book was incredibly well written. The pacing of the story worked. You FEEL for these characters. I understood their struggles, their hurts and why they are the people they are. I liked these characters as individuals, I felt their spark. I wanted them to find their happiness, and wasn't disappointed in the resolution they came to at all.

The supporting characters in here definitely had me intrigued. They didn't overshadow our main couple at all, they simply enhanced the story AND left me wanting more of them at the same time. I can't wait to see where the author takes this supporting cast! I've decided to adopt Willow's grandfather's advice about being happy and I'm sure you will too after reading this book.

There's romance here, there's mystery, intrigue, and pirates. A pirate that had me head over heels in love-which is definitely a sentence I never imagined writing. I loved this plot, I loved how well it was executed. This is absolutely a book I recommend and I look forward to the next book from this author!
