STAY WITH ME BY JULES BENNETT - ARC REVIEW

Small-town Haven, Georgia, is home to generations of families, plenty of Southern charm, and an airport that's seen better days. But as three friends are about to discover, love gives everything wings . . .
At eighteen, Olivia Daniels left Haven behind and never looked back. Doggedly climbing the corporate ladder, she's finally nearing the top when her father dies--leaving her part-owner of the run-down airport that was his first love. It's a complication Olivia intends to wrap up quickly--buying out her co-owner and selling the land. Good thing her childhood best friends are with her for moral support. Because one look at her new partner is proof that her tidy plan has hit turbulence . . .

Jackson Morgan practically grew up in Haven's airport, and no one could have been a better mentor than Olivia's dad. Flight is in Jackson's blood, but his roots are firmly planted, and there's no way he's giving up the airport--not even for sassy, headstrong Olivia, his childhood crush. Coming to an agreement won't be easy, especially when the attraction between them soars to new heights every day. Love definitely wasn't on the itinerary, but is it enough to keep them together for a lifetime trip? . . .

Olivia and Jackson have very different ideas about how the airport in Haven should be maintained, how much they want to do with it, and how interested they are in keeping it in their lives.

Which wouldn't usually be an issue.  Unfortunately for them, they each own 50% of it, and they are going to have to figure out a way to get along and work out their issues with one another to figure out how to deal with the airport.

I enjoyed this title.  I liked their connection. I liked that there was a genuine enjoyment of one another, and a genuine like of the other person (although they both tried to hide and fight against that) and I liked that Jax respected Olivia and the career she thought she wanted, enough to never belittle her for choosing it and not her hometown and the life they could share there.

I enjoy Jules Bennet's stories as they are always full of characters you like, and want to get to know better.  This was no different.  I liked the main characters, and I also liked the ones you meet as secondary characters and it is clear that those characters will be getting their own books in the series.

The only issue I had was that the child is 4, but seemed a lot older for her age and I was not totally sure I believed everything she said, and the way she handled situations.  But, that said, it was not enough of an issue for me to be unable to enjoy the story.

I enjoyed Jax and Olivia and I am looking forward to the next in the series.

I recommend this title.

ESCORT BY SKYE WARREN - BLOG TOUR & ARC REVIEW

"Hypnotically romantic…this book reads like a sensual dream and I didn't want to wake up." - Tessa Bailey, New York Times bestselling author

Escort.jpgEscort, a sexy new contemporary romance standalone from New York Times bestselling author Skye Warren is now LIVE!

There is no shame in pleasure. And no love in business.
I have a blind date tonight, and I know with 100% certainty that I'm getting lucky. There shouldn't be any surprises, not for one as jaded as me, but when I walk into the penthouse suite of L'Etoile, everything changes.

1) For one thing, Bea is heartstoppingly gorgeous. Pale green eyes and endless freckles. Curves I want to spend all night exploring, as if her body was made for me.

2) Her innocence makes me want to use my entire inventory of bedroom tricks on her and then invent a few more.

3) Except that . . . she's a virgin.

I can initiate her into the world of desire without letting her get attached, can't I? A few hours of tutoring, and at the end of the night a small fortune will be deposited into my bank account.

Yes, you read that right. There are many words for what I do. After all, mine is the oldest profession. I'm an escort, which means this date is nothing more than a mutually enjoyable transaction.

But once I realize one night with her won't be enough, I'm the one who's screwed.

There was something about this book.  A feeling as you were reading it that fully involved you in the story, a feeling that it was a little darker than it seemed at first.  I think it is in the settings and the way they are described, and the characters and their backstories.

That said, I really enjoyed this title.  A lot.  It was different, and it evoked different feelings than I usually have when I am reading a romance.  I know, I keep saying this...and I am not describing it in a way that does it any justice.

Beatrix "Bea" and Hugo meet when she hires him as an escort for the evening.  Her reason?  She wants to lose her virginity.  But, you soon find out the reason she is a virgin, and the reason she feels she needs to no longer be one are not simple, and you are intrigued.

Hugo is definitely intrigued.  And not quite sure what to do with the attraction he feels to the young virgin who hired him.  His struggle to be who he is, and to still deal with the feelings she evokes in him is interesting, and it keeps you turning the pages of the book.

I am not sure what else I can say about this one without spoiling it, so I will leave it at this...this book was not what I was expecting.  And, I enjoyed it.

I recommend this title.

The word seems to take her aback. “Pleasure?” “That’s the nature of my business, yes.” My body tightens, because it would be pleasure indeed to touch this woman. To kiss her. To make her moan for me. Although I might have to rethink that plan, because the word pleasure might as well have been medieval torture based on the way Bea looks at me. “I thought we were going to have sex.” She sounds so forlorn it could break my heart. Instead I laugh, a small huff of breath, because I can’t afford to have a heart. “Sex,” I say, standing to full height, circling the scuffed oriental coffee table, standing behind her chair. “And pleasure. Pleasure and sex. They’re interchangeable.” I brush my knuckles over the side of her neck, a demonstration. Her wild curls tickle my skin. It’s provocative, this. If she had agreed to dinner I would have started with small touches, a glance of my palm against the small of her back as I pulled out her chair, holding her hand while we talked over a glass of wine. Perhaps being so bold as to run a finger along the inside of hers, where it’s more sensitive. She would shiver; her gaze would meet mine. There’s an order to these things. You can move fast or slow, but there’s still an order. “We can skip the pleasure part,” she says, her voice high, her breathing faster. Her chest rises and falls in the black dress, made all the more alluring by how much it covers. She’s a mystery. The black sky in the city. I have to work to see her secrets. “No,” I chide gently. “We focus on the pleasure. That’s the point.” “What if—” Her breath catches as I drop the back of my hand over her collarbone, a reverse caress. That’s what one does for a skittish creature like her. “What if I have a different point?” “And what point would that be, my sweet Bea?” “I want to lose my virginity,” she says, so fast it comes out as a single word. IWANTTOLOSEMYVIRGINITY. It takes my lust-warmed brain a full minute to comprehend. She’s not only nervous, this woman. She’s a virgin. My hand freezes. I yank it away. “Pardon me?” I can’t have heard her correctly. There is no chance in hell that this beautiful young woman, as strange and interesting as she is, is a virgin. No chance in hell that I was the one tasked to be her first. I could not possibly spread her legs and thrust inside her, knowing that no one’s ever been there. It would be a physical impossibility. Never. No possible way. “It doesn’t have to take long,” she says, suddenly earnest. Almost begging me. “I don’t need…you know…whatever you do for other women. I only want the sex.” My God. “You are insane.” A scrunch of her nose. “Well, you don’t have to sound too surprised. It is what I requested when I called. The woman said that’s what you do.” “I’m not taking your virginity.” On some level I might have guessed this about her. If I had considered it even possible, I might have. Virgins don’t hire me. They stammer and giggle and turn away from me, their protective instincts strong enough to send them in the opposite direction. So perhaps I can be forgiven for not recognizing this one, so forthright. Bea frowns. “Is that a different department or something?” She’s mocking me. She’s mocking me for being, well, prudish, and I feel strangely buoyant. I could float away with the absurdity of it. “Yes, it’s a different department. The department of a frat boy who fumbles around in the dark.” “Are you seriously not going to do it?” The irony is enough to flatten me, that this is a woman I might have pursued outside this job. She would have been too young for me, even if I weren’t an escort and she wasn’t my client. That wouldn’t have stopped me from wanting her. But in another incarnation, if I had been one of those fumbling frat boys, I would have followed this woman to the ends of the earth. That’s a hypothetical scenario on multiple levels, but I’m good at hypotheticals, which is another reason I’m good at my job. So good that I please every single client I’ve ever had.

COVET BY ELLA JAMES-COVER REVEAL

Homer Carnegie. Admit it—you know my name. Your kid’s got my e-trading card. Your husband sits up straighter when I stroll onto the TV screen. He knows I’m going to crack the bat and save the day. Even your grandma’s jonesing for my autograph. But women my age? They’re the worst. Or would that be the best?

It’s not my fault they line up at the door. They catch my balls all right, two at a time sometimes, or even three. Believe me, everybody wins.

At least they did—until the video. I heard TMZ paid a million for a bird’s eye view of Homer on his A-game. The only folks who didn’t watch with eager eyes? Red Sox management. They want me benched, or worse, shipped off to rehab.

It’s a long story, what happens next. How I end up on a boat, bound for the world’s most remote island: Tristan da Cunha. Just a speck of dust in the Atlantic.

Except my heart is there.

I don’t know that when I step onto the boat.

I don’t know a lot of things.

What I’ll covet…

What I’ll lose…

SECOND CHANCE CHARMER BY BRIGHTON WALSH - BLOG TOUR & ARC REVIEW

Willow Haven’s content. Okay, that’s a lie, but she has tried her damndest. Trouble is, it never sticks. Second oldest in a family her town was named after, she’s always felt the pressure. From the townspeople, from her sisters, but most of all from her daddy—the original Good Old Boy and Havenbrook’s reigning mayor. The only time she didn’t feel that stress had been those blissful months spent in the arms of the resident bad boy. The same one who broke her heart beyond repair when he left without a word.

Life hasn’t come easy for Finn Thomas. He’s had to claw and fight for everything he’s ever had—and truth be told, it hasn’t been much. He spent the first eighteen years of his life living so far from the wrong side of the tracks, he couldn’t even see them through his trailer window. The only thing that ever came easy for him and made his sorry ass happy was the one girl he loved with all his heart. And the one thing he had no choice but to leave behind.

When an opportunity arises to return to his tiny, southern hometown and open the first bar in a formerly dry county, he jumps at the chance. That won’t win him points with the mayor, who’s hell bent on making Finn’s life a nightmare for sullying his namesake. Too bad for Mayor Haven, Finn’s got his sights set on more than just the town, and this time he won’t be scared off quite so easily.

I enjoyed the story of Finn and Willow reconnecting and finding the happy that had been taken from them. There was enough info about their past to understand the connection without it dragging the story into one that was dwelling in the past.

A second chance romance, to work, needs the reason to be compelling enough that you believe it, but not quite bad enough that you can't forgive it...and this title struck that balance well. I believed that a 19 year old young man would make the choices he did, and that an almost 30 year old man would regret and want to change them.

There were times where the inner dialogue felt repetitive, like I had heard the same thing from the character before. This can work if they are working through something, but I felt that the author spent a lot of time reminding the reader that there was an attraction between them.

However, I did enjoy this overall. I liked the writing and I liked the "Southern" that was added into the speech and the customs. It felt authentic, and it gave a realism to the story that worked well.

I recommend this title and look forward to the next in the series.

Without any conscious thought, Willow’s fingers started tracing the lines of ink on Finn’s skin, and all she could do was watch. He was so solid and warm under her fingertips, his puffs of air growing faster and faster against her neck, then her cheek, then her lips. And even though it’d been a long time, she knew what was coming a split second before he pressed his mouth against hers. Her sound of protest was lost in the space between their mouths as he swiped his tongue against her lips. And then there was nothing but Finn and his sinful mouth and his body flush against hers. He swept his tongue inside her mouth, and Lord, had he always tasted this good? Had he always kissed this good? Never breaking away from her mouth, he walked them until Willow’s back was pressed against the wall, and then he just sort of…settled in. His hips held hers against the wall, the length of his erection pressing into her, proving this wasn’t at all one-sided as his hand continued its maddening path along her hip. But then—Lord, then he slipped his thumb under the waistband of her shorts until there was nothing between his rough fingertip and the part of her body forever marked as his. If it were possible, the soft caresses had her melting even further into him. He kissed her like he was a starving man feasting on his first meal in a month. She’d forgotten how he’d always put his whole body into it, the heat and solidness of him pressing against her, making her feel safe and secure. Finn groaned into her mouth as he deepened the kiss even more, and all she could do was clutch him, one hand fisting the front of his shirt and the other pressed against his side where her tree was eternally imprinted. “You feel so damn good,” Finn said against her lips. Willow murmured her agreement into his mouth because there was no denying it. Her body was on fire, her nipples hard points pressing against his chest, her skin lit up from the inside out. And then Finn’s thumb, rubbing maddeningly against her tattoo, slipped to the right until he was as close to the Promised Land as he’d been in a long time. He didn’t try to push it any further, just ran his thumb back and forth right above where she was wet and ready for him until she thought she’d die.

TEMPTING LITTLE TEASE BY KENDALL RYAN-RELEASE BLITZ

Look what is live!  Tempting Little Tease from Kendall Ryan!

She's the tutor I hired to teach me Italian.

She's way too young for me, but she's also gorgeous, bright and filled with a curiosity about life that I find incredibly refreshing.

It's f*cking adorable.

I’m old enough to know better, but this pretty young thing tempts me beyond belief. And for the first time in my life, I can see myself falling.

***

Is this what it's like to be pursued by an older man? The complete confidence, the lack of expectations, the sincerity?

My God, it's exhilarating.

Quinn Kingsley is totally unexpected. I'm moving to Italy in three weeks to teach English, and while I never expected something so real to develop between us so quickly, our chemistry is undeniable.

There's something so sexy about this back and forth he and I share. Flirting with this man is like playing with fire, and I'm bound to get burned.

Io sono attratto da te. I'm attracted to you, he tells me.

But is our attraction enough to get us through the complications of a massive age gap and an international love affair?

Only one way to find out…

Kendall Ryan has done it again. I have loved each of the books in the Forbidden Desires series and Tempting Little Tease was no different. I read this in one sitting and enjoyed every moment of it.

I've wanted Quinn's story since first meeting him in Dirty Little Secret. I just wanted to know more of him. I feel like this book tells his story just so perfectly. I loved seeing inside of Quinn, seeing who he really was and watching him fall. He had me smiling and swooning for sure-he was a fabulous book boyfriend.

I really enjoyed Alessandra too. I liked that there was an age gap between her and Quinn. Personally, I think the author did a great job at allowing this character to be young. She wasn't trying to be anything but herself and that just worked so beautifully. I enjoyed seeing things through her eyes at times.

There was an instant chemistry with these characters and it worked. It worked so very well. The sex was hot and steamy-I expect no less from this author-but the moments outside of the sex between them? They were wonderful. I loved their banter and I truly just enjoyed THEM as a whole.

The pacing of this book just flowed. It was a fast read for me-especially because once I started I truly didn't want to stop. As I mentioned I have been waiting for Quinn's story since first meeting him and I certainly wasn't disappointed. I loved this book and absolutely recommend it.

I love forbidden stories, and this one, with the hero a lot older than the heroine was a lot of fun. When a forbidden romance works, they are some of my favorite romances, as there is just something so interesting about a relationship that society also frowns on.

Quinn is 38, Alessandra is 22. And, from the moment they meet there is an attraction between them. Quinn recognizes this, and pursues her anyway, as this woman makes him feel a way that no other woman has.

The relationship, the sex and the romance, were compelling. You are engaged with them, and you believe their attraction. His attempts to seduce her in Italian, and the wrong words he adorably uses, are perfect. And, it lets you know who he is, that he is willing to make himself vulnerable if he cares about the person he is talking to, or interacting with.

I loved that Quinn allows Alessandra to be who she is, he doesn't try to stop her from following her dreams. And, I love that, at the end of the book, the reason that they work and that you believe they will last, is because they handle the relationship in a mature adult way that makes you forget that she is young, and that he is a lot older than her.

The end of this book is wonderful. I love that Quin knows Alessandra well enough to care about her dream, and to make sure that he finds a way for them to be together and for her to still have her dream of Italy.

I enjoyed this title, and I recommend it.
