Scarlett is brilliant, kind and sexy. She guards her heart closely when it comes to love, which is completely understandable. It made watching her walls come down with Daniel even more satisfying. Seeing her open herself up again was beautiful. I want to be friends, and business partners, with her!
Daniel, oh my sexy, Daniel. I have wanted to know this man's secrets for what feels like forever. This passionate man brought me to tears! I wanted to hug him, then shake him, then hug him all over again. I loved his journey-even the sad moments. I fell hard for him; I'd put him in my top five of Blakely book boyfriends (yes, of course I have a list!!).
The passion these two share is off the charts. Friends, you need to have batteries and fans for this book, without a doubt!! I'm a sucker for a good first kiss and the first kiss these two share definitely sets the tone for the rest of their sexy times. It is positively scorching. I loved every moment of their flirty banter as well. These two were absolutely perfect together.
I've never traveled to France-and I'm ok with that because I feel like Ms. Blakely took me there in this book. I could picture it all perfectly. The writing is just SO rich and so well done. The setting is just perfect for Daniel and Scarlett's story-it's just as sensual and as full of secrets as they are. I also loved all of the secondary characters here as well-and can't wait to learn more about some of them.
My One Week Husband is one of Lauren Blakely's all time best books. This is on my favorite book list and is one I will come back to over and over, without a doubt. I smiled, laughed, cried and swooned with this story. This is more than a five star book, this is a five star experience! I cannot wait to hear the audio of this book! This is not a story you want to miss-it is perfection.
Daniel and Scarlett's story is wonderful.
It's hot, sexy, full of the chemistry and banter you want in a Lauren Blakely title... And it's fun.
It's set in France, so sign me up from the very beginning. But added into the setting are 2 people who are flawed and genuinely interesting and likeable.
You meet Daniel in a previous book and if you are me, you've been excited for his book and his HEA since. He's complicated, and yet he's also really simple in that what he wants is to be loved and accepted for who he is, with acknowledgement of the good and bad...so basically what we all want.
And as Scarlett is his business partner, she feels off limits. Almost as if showing the less than perfect parts of himself will diminish the working relationship.
Scarlett already sees both the good and the imperfections, and she's definitely interested...but with the same reservations as Daniel.
Needless to say, they work it out. Their journey has a fabulous mix of depth, chemistry, and sexy times that kept me engaged the entire time.
