I know I should keep my distance.

I could lose everything--even myself.

But I can't.

And neither can he.

One of the things I love most about Ava Harrison's books is her ability to weave darker themes into the romance of the story and leave you feeling like the book you read was simultaneously dark...and light at the same time.

Drew and Bailey were one of those stories where it feels both dark, like they are a little trapped where they are, and also light. Although, for some reason, in this one, the balance seemed more toward the darker elements of the story and I found it hard to really relate to them or to feel their connection until later in their story.

While this definitely didn't ruin the book for me, or mean that I am not able to recommend it, it definitely left me feeling a little bit like I wanted more from it.

That said, I did enjoy this overall and I recommend it.
