About THE OPEN DOOR:
**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**
I love Laurelin Paige. This novella was hot, sexy and real, and I think that's what I appreciate the most. This scorched my kindle and I devoured it...and will definitely read it again.
So this novella is definitely a standalone, but if you've read this Author's other works then you've met Gwen and JC. Boy was it a treat to go back and revisit them. I always love when an Author takes us past that initial romance stage, where everything is happy and perfect and the couple has overcome their initial hangups and everything is wonderful. This book gives us a view of married life, which is wonderful...but different.
The premise behind this is so hot and steamy, and just executed so well. The sex is hot and I will admit my kindle needed a fan of its own after some scenes or else it would have combusted. This novella was the perfect peek inside this secret sex club world, and I loved every moment of it.
This Author is an automatic one click Author for me and books like this are why. Yes, it's shorter because it's a novella. But it's so well crafted and the characters so well defined that it left me completely satisfied. I loved the journey these characters took, and being on it with them.
I loved and absolutely recommend this novella.
Married life can be hot, just ask JC and Gwen. Well, if you can catch them between all those mundane, life things that make life boring and, well, less than hot.
So, what is a couple to do? Well, if you are Gwen and JC (or if you find yourself in a story written by Laurelin Paige) you find ways to keep things hot and interesting.
In their case, it's an invitation to an exclusive, erotic club.
There's lots of hot sex, and some really fun, kinky sex...and, there's a great look at the relationship between them as it grows and changes over time.
I think that is what I loved the most about this...it's a glimpse into married life, it's a look at the ways a relationship changes, and the ways in which marriage and long-term commitment changes the people in the relationship. But, it also takes a really hot look at what commitment and trust can add to a relationship.
I can't lie, at the end of this novella, I wanted more. I wanted to see what happens next, and I wanted more of Gwen and JC.
This is a standalone. I actually did re-read the books in the Found Duet, but it wasn't necessary for you to enjoy this story...although, it was a lot of fun to re-read the books, so either way, you win.
I enjoyed and recommend this title.
USA Today and New York Times Bestselling Author Laurelin Paige is a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however. When she isn’t reading or writing sexy stories, she’s probably singing, watching Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead, or dreaming of Michael Fassbender. She is represented by Rebecca Friedman.
