SHIMMY BANG SPARKLE BY NICOLA RENDELL-BLOG TOUR

BLURB

To catch a thief…or fall for one?

All Nick Norton wants is to stay on the straight and narrow…and never get caught stealing again. Then he lays eyes on her: Stella Peretti—100 percent sexy and absolutely irresistible. Especially when he sees her smooth moves lifting a two-karat diamond. Nick realizes he’s found the sparkling woman of his dreams—one so perfect for him it’s almost criminal.

The Shimmy Shimmy Bangs are master jewel thieves who are planning the heist of the century. And Shimmy leader, Stella, isn’t about to let anyone—even if he is a hunky, tatted-up studmuffin—get in her way. But when two of her girls are put out of commission, Stella realizes that Nick isn’t just a red-hot distraction. He might be the answer to her pilfering prayers.

Now, Nick and Stella are putting everything on the line for one last job. But when two thieves have this much chemistry, it’s only a matter of time before somebody’s heart gets stolen.

I've enjoyed Nicola Rendell's work since I read her first book, Professed. I love her sexy, fun style of writing so I was looking forward to reading Shimmy Bang Sparkle. I thought this premise could be really interesting and I was looking forward to her angle on it. Overall I enjoyed this title.

I really liked our hero. He wasn't perfect by any means, but who wants perfect anyway? He was sexy, confident and smart. I enjoyed watching him with Stella and man did he have some swoonworthy lines.

It took me a bit to warm up to Stella, but I did wind up liking her. I just didn't have the same instant connection that I had with nick.

The chemistry between these two definitely spills off the page. It's instant, which can sometimes be difficult to pull off, but it really did work for these characters. Their sexy times were scorchingly sexy, which is something I've come to expect from this Author. I did enjoy their time outside the bedroom as well and thought they shared some really good banter.

The supporting cast of characters was fun and different. I thought the writing flowed well for the most part. I will say I thought there were a couple moments where things dragged a bit, but overall the story moved along well.

This book had me laughing and sighing in parts. I did enjoy this title and would recommend it.

Nick and Stella have this one really important thing in common. Usually, when you meet someone, it's a love of horror (or whatever) movies and the same foods and pizza toppings that draw you together.

It's not, usually, that you are both jewel thieves. Really, honestly, it's pretty much never that. Except in this case.

Generally, I'm all in with a premise like this. Flawed characters, grittier settings, real situations that don't feel as made up as they sometimes do in romance. And, I loved parts of this. I loved Nick, that he wasn't what you usually think of when you see a romantic hero.

Unfortunately, I struggled with Stella. I believed Nick was attracted, and I believed their connection. But I struggled with liking her and I'm not sure why.

Overall, I enjoyed the parts with Nick, and with them together, so I still enjoyed this overall... there was just a connection missing for me to be fully engaged.

I do recommend this title...and it's probably just me who didn't connect with her.

“Niiiiiiick!” came her voice, more of a growl that an actual word. “Get me out of here. My legs are going numb!” To the bathroom I went, where I was met not only with Stella’s pinch-worthy ass in the window, but also an explosion of towels and makeup, shampoos and lotions, on every flat surface, and all over the floor. Dozens of makeup brushes poked out of an old coffee can by the sink, which was encrusted with jewels like Stella’s phone. Stella had managed to tangle her legs up with toilet paper like the back end of a sloppily wrapped mummy, so I pulled that off her first. She’d also gotten her belt loop hooked over the lock on the window, so I unhooked that too. But I didn’t pull her out quite yet, because her ass was just too hot to ignore. She was still in the same jeans she’d been wearing last night, and I took the chance to run my hand up the back of one thigh. I leaned down, and gave her a kiss on the small of her back. Her body went limp in the window, and she let out a moan. Once I’d had my fix, I hooked my arm underneath her hips and gave her a tug. I absolutely loved the way her skin felt next to mine, especially like this, when she was way too out of her element to feel self-conscious. The muscles of her stomach weren’t flexed, and I felt the soft curves and lines like she hadn’t let me feel them before. The narrow strip of skin where her T-shirt had ridden up made all those clichĂ© terms make sense. Soft as silk. Sweet as cream. Fucking heaven.
