I write about love, but I’ve never experienced it. Sure, I’ve been with guys that I cared about. Even thought I found ‘the one’. He turned out to be the frog and not the prince.
A few Frank Sinatra songs and a wildly handsome cowboy who calls me Darlin’, will have me second guessing everything I ever thought I knew about love.
Does happily ever after really exist…or is it only something I write about in books?
Love Profound is book two in the Cowboys and Angels series.
I really liked Amelia, or Meli as she is often called. I thought she was smart, funny and incredibly passionate. She's also guarded-using casual hookups for fun instead of allowing herself to believe that love truly exists. It's quite ironic she doesn't necessarily believe in love when she's a romance author, but it works for her. She's had her heart broken and she isn't looking to have that happen again.
Wade. Holy swoon Wade. Talk about your ultimate book boyfriend. This man is sweet, sexy, and so incredibly loving. Not just of Amelia, but of everyone he comes across. He won me over the second I met him in this book. He has had his fair share of heartbreak and I ached for him and was so, so thrilled for him to find love.
The chemistry between these two was so hot and sweet at the same time. It gave me butterflies and made me grin. I loved how they took their time with each other, how it wasn't just sex at all for either of them. Watching them let each other in was so incredibly satisfying. Their relationship just felt authentic.
I adore the supporting characters in this book. They lift these two up without getting in the way of the story. Thy enhance the connection between the two in a very real sense. Meli's family is absolutely hysterical and I look forward to more stories from them.
I thought the writing in this book was fabulous. The pacing flowed well and made the events unfold in such a way that it felt real and authentic. I truly felt I could walk down the street in Texas and find these people. The only thing I didn't love was the introduction of a character in the beginning. I think he got in the way for Meli and I just didn't care about the drama he brought to the table.
This story was so sweet. It's the second in the series but can absolutely be enjoyed as a standalone. If you're looking for a hot and sweet cowboy romance, look no further. I can't wait to see what this author gives us next. I absolutely recommend this title.
