About CHASING CHRISTMAS EVE:

Meet cute...
Run for the hills—temporarily. That’s Colbie Albright’s plan when she flees New York for San Francisco. Wrangling her crazy family by day and writing a bestselling YA fantasy series by night has taken its toll. In short, Colbie’s so over it that she’s under it. She’s also under the waters of a historic San Francisco fountain within an hour of arrival. Fortunately, the guy who fishes Colbie out has her looking forward to Christmas among strangers. But she’s pretty sure Spencer Baldwin won’t be a stranger for long.
Make merry...
Spence’s commitment to hiding from the Ghosts of Relationships Past means he doesn’t have to worry about the powerful—okay, crazy hot—chemistry he’s got with Colbie. Just because she can laugh at anything, especially herself... just because she’s gorgeous and a great listener…just because she “gets” Spencer immediately doesn’t mean he won’t be able to let Colbie go. Does it?
…and hope for a miracle.
Now the clock’s ticking for Colbie and Spence: Two weeks to cut loose. Two weeks to fall hard. Two weeks to figure out how to make this Christmas last a lifetime

Jill Shalvis is one of those authors that just knows how to write a good, fun romance.  I'm a sucker for a good holiday read so this was right up my alley.  This light, sweet, funny romance hooked me from the start!

I love Colbie.  From the moment the book begins she had me smiling and intrigued.  I laughed at (with, really) her initial drama and just buckled up to enjoy the ride.  I liked seeing Colbie's easy going nature and watching her growth throughout the book.

Spence? Hello, hot nerd.  I definitely have a weakness for that type of character.  Spence was a fantastic book boyfriend for me.  Sweet, caring....yet slightly broken.  Sexy as all get out and I just loved how he responded to Colbie.

These two share a connection.  Even though there was a deadline in place I never felt rushed.  I never felt THEY felt rushed or hurried or frantic.  It was sweet and hot and sexy.  I absolutely loved it.

Jill Shalvis is an amazing writer.  This book just further proves it.  It has laugh out loud moments, moments that had me sighing and swooning and grinning.  The pacing of the book flowed and the writing was just sharp and fun.  I know some people don't love to read holiday books before the holiday, but this is one book I'll come back to no matter the date on the calendar.  While part of a series, this can absolutely be read and enjoyed as a standalone.  I highly recommend this book!

Spence drew in a deep, shuddering breath that wasn’t much steadier than hers and pulled off his now crooked glasses. “Hang on a second.” He tossed them aside. “I need to check on something.”

“What?” she asked warily.

Once again he slowly drew her in, his eyes heated and focused on hers, infusing her with some of his calm. “I want to see if this is how it’s going to be.”

“How what’s going to be?” she whispered.

“This.”

His kiss started out just as slow and thoughtful as the first, all careful control. But when his tongue touched hers, control flew straight out the window.
