Ransom is a bodyguard, but don't let him hear you call him that, and Hallie is the spoiled, rich, alcoholic, sexually promiscuous daughter of the former President.
But is she all that...or is there more to that story and to who she is when she's not playing a part?
I loved that the evolution of this story follows Ransom, the reader, and sometimes Hallie herself as we all figure out who she is and what parts are true.
Ransom is cruel to her at the beginning, and it's tough to like him all that much, although I'm not sure we're supposed to as readers, and the way this lines up with Hallie and her feelings toward him ends up making this book one that, as a reader, you feel like you are invested and actually in the story not just reading it.
Their chemistry and attraction are evident from the beginning and their switch from enemies to lovers was excellent. I did feel there was a little too much time spent on characters other than them at a couple of points in the book, but it wasn't too bad as far as pacing.
I'm also a sucker for the ending of this one.
I enjoyed and recommend this title.
