They say every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future. But Stevie’s past may force us to fold on our future before it’s even begun.

I love fake romance stories, not sure why, but they are a favorite of mine. I think because I love the idea of the romance that sort of sneaks up on the characters, that it's more than they thought it would be.

Hank and Stevie meet in Vegas and have an instantaneous connection. And, as Hank has some...issues...to work out with his family, and his brother specifically, he decides that the best way to heal the rift in the family is to show that he has moved on and found someone else...as the cause of the rift was related to who he was in love with. (Definitely hard to discuss this without spoilers, egads.)

And, well, as often happens in life and definitely happens in romance, when things are definitely going to go in one direction, they all of a sudden make a lot more sense if they go in a completely unexpected one.

This is a standalone, although it is an interconnected story and, while not strictly necessary, reading the other books in this series will give you a little more of the emotional depth of this one...although, if you haven't read them, this is enough of a standalone that you will be fine.

I enjoyed and recommend this title.
