OSCAR BY SJ MCCOY-RELEASE BOOST

Blurb

Oscar Davenport always wins. Always. He doesn’t come second, and he sure as hell doesn’t lose. He’s founded and sold three tech companies, netting him almost a billion dollars. He ran a hedge fund worth hundreds of billions—until he got bored. His latest project, Six, a nightclub in LA is another winner. It’s both a successful business and a playground full of playmates.

He’s never met an obstacle he couldn’t overcome or a woman he couldn’t have. Until now.

Grace Evans is the kind of girl you’d find curled up with a good book on a Saturday night—at least, usually. This Saturday night is different. This Saturday night she’s gotten all done up, in a dress she can barely breathe in and heels she can barely walk in. She had to. She had to venture into the lair of the enemy.

The enemy is Oscar Davenport, and his lair is his swanky nightclub. When she lays eyes on him, she’s ready to believe he’s the devil incarnate. His wicked smile, his beautiful eyes—everything about him is an invitation to sin. He moves with the grace and arrogance of a big cat about to pounce. Unfortunately, he’s moving straight toward her. He’s singled her out as his prey. He’s moving in for the kill.

Little does he know that she isn’t about to surrender; in fact, he’s in for the fight of his life.

Once she was inside the elevator, she jabbed at the button again, this time trying to make the doors close. She really was shit out of luck this morning. Just as they began to slide together, a set of long, strong fingers slipped between them, and they slid open again. And there he was.

He stepped inside with a smile and a nod, then pressed to go to the eighteenth floor. Shit. That was her floor. He couldn’t go there.

“What do you need?”

She stared at him blankly. “Need?” Could he somehow see inside her mind, see all the months of a dry spell that had gone on way too long? Or could he see the images floating inside her head? Images of what the two of them could do if the elevator somehow got stuck.

The corners of his lips curved upward again. That just might be the sexiest smile she’d ever seen. “Which floor?”

“Oh!” Well, wasn’t she an idiot? Her mind raced. She couldn’t get off the elevator with him. He might think she was following him. “Seventeen.”

He hit the button, but before they started to move, the doors slid open again. Thank God for that!

Two men and two women came in and turned to face the doors, leaving Grace and the Big Cat alone in the silent space behind them. Grace gripped the tray with her two coffee cups and stared determinedly at the numbers above the door. She’d always suspected this was the world’s slowest elevator, but this morning’s ride confirmed it. Every second was torture. She could smell him—all citrus and man. She’d swear he was looking at her, but she refused to allow herself to sneak a peek. He’d catch her.

She tried looking down at the coffee cups, but that just made a strand of her hair fall across her face. She wrinkled her nose and tried to blow it away, then she froze. There were those long, strong fingers again. They brushed her cheek as they took the errant strand and tucked it behind her ear. If the heat had surged through her when he held the door open, then her blood was boiling in her veins right now. All the little hairs on the back of her neck stood up and sent shivers racing down her spine. Even her scalp tingled. She turned. How could she not?

Those big brown eyes were twinkling with amusement. “I hope I didn’t overstep? You looked uncomfortable.”

She shook her head mutely. What could she say, even if she could find the breath to speak?

The elevator stopped, and she silently begged the people in front of her not to get out. They couldn’t leave her alone in here with this guy—she would not be responsible for her actions. To her relief, they didn’t. Instead, two more got in, and that was quite a crowd. Everyone shuffled back a little. She had no clue how it happened, but somehow, she ended up face to face with Big Cat. She was in the corner, and he was right there in front of her, staring down into her eyes, that quirky little smile playing on his face again. She’d had a laugh with Spider the other night when one of the customers had tried hitting on her in the coffee shop. She’d told Spider that her sexual desires were dormant. Hell, had she been wrong about that. Standing here, face-to-face with this guy, she discovered that her sexual desires weren’t just active—oh, no, they were rampant. She was grateful for the tray of coffee she was gripping. It gave her hands something to do that kept them from reaching up to touch his face, maybe sinking into his hair or even sliding around his waist.

“Are you okay?”

She nodded rapidly, meeting his gaze briefly. Even she heard the gasp she made when he rested his hand on her hip. What was he doing? You didn’t just do that to a stranger in a crowded elevator.

“Are you sure?” He looked worried now.

She looked down to where his hand rested on her hip. Except it wasn’t his hand—it was the purse the woman in front of her had slung over her shoulder. Grace couldn’t help it. She laughed. Wow, she needed to get laid. Okay, the guy was attractive, but he shouldn’t affect her this badly. “I’m fine, thanks. Have a great day.” She edged her way to the front and squeezed out through the doors before they had a chance to open fully on the seventeenth floor. She couldn’t help it. She had to look back before they closed. He’d made his way to the front, too. He met her gaze with a smile.

Bye, Big Cat. She bid him a sad farewell. At least, in the real world, the world where she’d never see him again. She had a feeling her imagination would be seeing a lot more of him in the nights to come.

She smiled back at him; there was no harm now. And he winked! The arrogant prick actually winked at her. She stood there staring as the doors slid shut, and then he was gone.

I'm SJ, a coffee addict, lover of chocolate and drinker of good red wines. I'm a lost soul and a hopeless romantic. Reading and writing are necessary parts of who I am. Though perhaps not as necessary as coffee! I can drink coffee without writing, but I can't write without coffee.

I grew up loving romance novels, my first boyfriends were book boyfriends, but life intervened, as it tends to do, and I wandered down the paths of non fiction for many years. My life changed completely a couple of years ago and I returned to Romance to find my escape.

I write 'Sweet n Steamy' stories because to me there is enough angst and darkness in real life. My favorite romances are happy escapes with a focus on fun, friendships and happily-ever-afters, just like the ones I write.

These days I live in beautiful Montana, the last best place. If I'm not reading or writing, you'll find me just down the road in the park - Yellowstone. I have deer, eagles and the occasional bear for company, and I like it that way :0)

PICTURE PERFECT LIE BY MARQUITA VALENTINE - ARC REVIEW & BLOG TOUR

SBPR_BT_PPL.jpg

Picture Perfect Lie AMAZON
All Campbell Faircloth wanted was a safe place to call home.

All Knight King wanted was to leave his hometown behind.

I never expected to end up in Castle Beach, surrounded by a family who believes that I’m not only their brother’s wife, but the mother of his infant daughter.

I can’t tell them the truth—Knight and I met only three days earlier, during a layover in Atlanta.

He was headed out to fight in a war that hardly anyone talked about anymore, and I was headed back home to a family who pretended that I didn’t exist.

He helped me with my baby.

He kept us safe while we slept.

We shared lunch and dinner… and I spilled all my secrets to him.

Then he gave me an address, along with an offer I couldn’t refuse.

*

Six months later he’s back to bury his brother, and my lie is about to be exposed.

Only Knight doesn’t say a word.

He goes along with the charade, and each day we spend together, pretending to be husband and wife, it’s getting harder and harder not to believe in our lie.

Could our picture perfect lie turn into a picture perfect forever?

Fake relationship books are fun. But this is one with a bit of a twist. Usually, the couple is together and there is a reason one, or both, of them need to have a significant other. But, in this case, Knight is on his way overseas for a deployment, a flight is delayed, and to make sure she has a room to sleep in, Knight has her pretend to be his wife....and, tells her to continue the charade if things don't go well with her family.

Campbell ends up at Knight's home, his family thinks her daughter is his and that she is his wife. Most of the book is spent with them apart, developing their relationship. And, I liked the twist on this...usually, the couple in the fake relationship winds up spending a lot of time together because they have to in order to make it believable...the switch of the couple being apart gave this a fresh feel.

That said, I had some issues with the pacing, as it did seem that the parts of the story where they were together seemed to be a little rushed. The beginning of the book was interesting, their time together to get to know one another moved well. The time apart was also interesting...but the parts where they were together felt rushed, like there was limited time for them to be in the same place and they had to take advantage of it...which makes sense, but at the same time caused to the book to move too quickly.

I did end up enjoying the book overall and I do recommend this title.

ALTHOUGH I HAD SWORN to never be a woman who needs a man—well, to never be that woman again, I find myself being led by Knight and following him like he’s leading us to the Promised Land.

“Free food, free hot shower... and my company,” he says as we walk to the USO Lounge.

“What else can you ask for during an ice storm?” On second thought, maybe he is leading me to the land of soft beds and all the food I can eat.

“There’s something I didn’t tell you,” he says, stopping short of the entrance. Unease scuttles through me.

“What’s that?” I hold Hazel closer to me, breathing in her baby scent like it’s a talisman that can protect us.

“They think we’re married.”

MARRIAGE OF INCONVENIENCE BY PENNY REID-BLOG TOUR

There are three things you need to know about Kat Tanner (aka Kathleen Tyson. . . and yes, she is *that* Kathleen Tyson): 1) She’s determined to make good decisions, 2) She must get married ASAP, and 3) She knows how to knit.

Being a billionaire heiress isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. In fact, it sucks. Determined to live a quiet life, Kat Tanner changed her identity years ago and eschewed her family’s legacy. But now, Kat’s silver spoon past has finally caught up with her, and so have her youthful mistakes. To avoid imminent disaster, she must marry immediately; it is essential that the person she chooses have no romantic feelings for her whatsoever and be completely trustworthy.

Fortunately, she knows exactly who to ask. Dan O’Malley checks all the boxes: single, romantically indifferent to her, completely trustworthy. Sure, she might have a wee little crush on Dan the Security Man, but with clear rules, expectations, and a legally binding contract, Kat is certain she can make it through this debacle with her sanity—and heart—all in one piece.

Except, what happens when Dan O’Malley isn’t as indifferent—or as trustworthy—as she thought?

I love Penny Reid. Absolutely love her. Her books are smart, sexy and fun. They challenge the reader and make them think while still being full of heart. Marriage of Inconvenience was no different.

I have read all of the other Knitting in the City books prior to reading this and boy, did that make me REALLY want to read this book about Dan and Kat. The buildup has been brewing and I couldn't wait to see what would happen if/when these two characters got their own book. This book totally surpassed what I was hoping for with regards to Dan and Kat. If you haven't read the other books in this series you can absolutely still enjoy this book, but I do recommend reading the others.

Dan and Kat were such a great match for one another. I really felt for Kat and her situation-and I won't go into any more detail than that because I don't want to even remotely hint at spoiling anything. But I sympathized with her, truly. I loved her self discovery in this book-aided by Dan.

Dan...Dan the hot, dirty talking security man. I love this character. I love him so very much lol. Yes, he has a very foul mouth but there's so much more to him than that. I know it might offend some, but I felt it suited him perfectly. And I love how he loved Kat.

This is a great romance story but it's more than that at the same time. There's friendship and loyalty mixed in with the love. It's a balance the author strikes perfectly. The writing here was smart and sharp, as is always the case with this author. The pacing of the book really, really worked for these characters.

As I've said before, I've been waiting for this book-and it was absolutely worth the wait. I loved and it and highly recommend it.

Staring at his chin, because I couldn’t quite lift my eyes any higher, I cleared my throat. “Should we get ready for bed?” “Sure,” he said, his voice a rumble. Dan’s eyes were on me, I felt the weight of them. My hands came to the hem of my skirt and I hesitated, feeling winded for some reason. Sneaking a glance at him, I immediately wished I hadn’t. His gaze was watchful, but it was also unmistakably hot in a way that seemed at once both avaricious and accusatory. The vice tightened around my lungs. Kiss him! Just freaking kiss him! You want numbered steps? Fine. You kiss him- check. He kisses you back- check. Then you make out- check. Check the boxes. I licked my lips, balling my hands into fists at my sides again, preparing to follow my hasty list. But then he said, “Undress me.” My breath caught. On instinct, my eyes lifted and collided with his in much the same way our bodies had collided at the top of the stairs just moments ago. Jarring. Startling. Thrilling. This time I couldn’t look away because this time I was falling. He made no move to catch me. “What? What did you say?” His eyes narrowed, which served only to increase the intensity of his gaze from smolder to inferno. “Take my clothes off.” I stared at him, licking my lips again, and shaking my head. That wasn’t one of my steps. Lifting my chin, I moved to kiss him. He leaned to the side, evading me even as his eyes dropped to my mouth. “Take off my shirt and I’ll give you a kiss.” He’d used his naughty-secret voice. An explosion of heat erupted in my belly, and now I was hot all over. I couldn’t figure out if the heat was embarrassment or arousal or both. He didn’t give me a chance to figure it out. His hands lifted and he undid his cuffs; then they moved to the top button of his shirt. “You better take over,” he said darkly, “or else you’re not getting that kiss.”

ROYAL REBEL BY JESSICA PETERSON-RELEASE BLITZ

Blurb

Royal. Recklessly Rebellious. Totally Delicious.

SUBJECT: I'm sorry (Marked Confidential)

Sat 21 May 02:48 A.M.

From the Desk of His Royal Highness Prince Robert

Aly—can’t stop thinking about tonight. Never thought enemies like us would end up naked together. Again. Know you think I’m cocky, but come on, sweetheart…don’t tell me it’s not the best sex you’ve ever had.

I’m not a good man. But for the first time, I wish I were. Maybe then I’d deserve you. I don’t. Not when I come from a family like mine. All these secrets…

You’re gorgeous. Clever. You call me out on my bullshit, and I bloody adore it.

I adore you, sweetheart.

You have your new bloke. And I’m…me. The playboy prince. We’re not meant to be together. But staying away from you is killing me, Aly. Thinking about him touching you is killing me.

I’ve no right to talk to you like this. Im sorry. It’s the whiskey talking. This is what you do to me.

Rob

P.S.—I can’t send this. But I am thinking of you.

This is the 2nd title in the Flings With Kings series, and it was just as fun as the first. There are some recurring characters, and there is a little bit of overlap in the fact that events that happened in the first book are referred to in this title, but the book can be read as a standalone.

Aly and Rob have a sex only fling. Until Aly decides she wants to look for more depth in a relationship and that her fling with Rob is preventing her from doing so, as that Rob isn't the person who can give it to her. The real issue here is that Rob is attracted to Aly but actually believes, and agrees with her, that he is not relationship material and that he is not the kind of person she should be with.

There is a lot of work on Rob's part to get to the place where he can be willing to open himself up to the relationship, and there is some growth for Aly as she learns that sometimes, people can change. There were some places where I was less than amused at the way she treats him, but this was because I also knew what Rob was thinking, and that made me a little more on his side than the reader.

The sex, even the parts where is was just "benefits" was hot and the relationship built in a way that I believed. As it started with sex, it was up to the author to create a story ARC that evolved from the purely physical to the emotional...and there were little bits along the way that definitely left you with the opinion that they were heading to a royal happily ever after.

I enjoyed this title and I recommend it and the previous book in the series...I can't wait for the next one.

I love books involving royalty. I'm not sure what it is, maybe it's the inner desire to be a princess (thank you to all those Disney movies I watched as a little girl) but I just love these kind of stories. While this is the second book in the series it can be enjoyed as a standalone.

Aly is a smart, driven and intense woman. She knows what she wants and is determined to get it; I can admire that quality in a person. She's stubborn and sassy-and there were more than a few moments that I shook my head at her. But overall, I liked her.

Now Rob? I adored. I absolutely adored him. Who doesn't love a broken hero? Getting to see inside his head had me sighing and just falling for him. I loved seeing him grow and realize his own self-worth.

I loved the spark between these two. The banter was great and the sex? Well that was definitely kindle melting hot. I enjoyed seeing these two figure each other out.

The writing flowed well and the pacing of the book worked for me. I loved our secondary characters and thought they provided a great support to Aly and Rob's story. This story had a bit of something for everyone and I look forward to what this author brings us next. I recommend this book.

OUR UNSCRIPTED STORY BY L.A. FIORE-RELEASE BLITZ

Blurb

Greyson Ratcliffe. I met him at sixteen, the hot new guy sitting on my jetty, an aspiring artist just passing through. He was my first kiss and my first love. I wanted forever with him. I didn’t even get a year.

Five years later, I’m a budding writer who scripts stories of love and struggle, the good and the bad and the ups and the downs. He’s a star on the rise; his wicked talent and crazy good looks have his face plastered on countless magazines. We move in two different worlds and still our paths cross again. We’re older and wiser and as crazy about each other as we had been as teenagers.

My medium is words and my imagination is limitless, but not even I could have written the incredible journey we traveled to reach our happily-ever-after. Life isn’t like fiction, and the greatest love stories don’t follow a script.

Oh, my word. This book hooked me from the very beginning. This took me on a journey I didn't see coming, but I loved every step of the way. Our Unscripted Story is my favorite L.A. Fiore book to date!

Our Unscripted Story gives us a peek into the lives of Alexis and Greyson. Neither have had easy lives, but there's a connection between them that you can FEEL the moment that they meet. I couldn't wait to see how their story would play out. Their story is full of love, yes, but it isn't always easy. The struggles this couple faced, some big, some small, made these characters live and breathe for me.

I love Alexis. Absolutely love her. I hated some things that happened to her, but the result of those things turned her into the smart, strong young woman I adored. She was funny, loyal, honest and real. She's the kind of person you want in your corner, and someone I would absolutely be friends with.

Greyson? Well, hello one of my new favorite book boyfriends. He had me sighing, he had me swooning. He had me shaking my head in frustration. But he was perfectly imperfect. And he was just what Alexis needed. I fell for him when Alexis did, and my love for him just grew as I read...even when I wanted to shake him.

I won't spoil this book-because I want you to go and experience this amazing story. But I'll say the plot was unique. The writing was strong and I really felt what was going on with these characters. I adored the secondary characters; I can't pick a favorite because I loved them all. They added to the richness of this story.

Our Unscripted Story is the kind of book that will stick with me. I laughed, I cried and I swooned. I absolutely loved it and can't wait to see what this author brings us next. I highly recommend this book.

Some books are love stories. From beginning, the first meeting on a pier, to the end of the book after years have passed, some books tell a love story. In a way, all romance is a love story. But, a lot of the romance books we read are snippets of a life, a moment lived in time with an epilogue that lets you know that the couple is still together years later. But, this is different...it tells their whole story, it tells of their journey.

Don't get me wrong. Yes, there is angst. Greyson and Alexis meet when he is a year from starting his dream of becoming an artist and she is a couple of years away from college. They are together in high school and then life happens, as life does, at the end of high school. Both are given the chance to grow into the relationship that was developing when they were too young to know what to do with it, or how to make it work. And, in a lot of ways, the growth into loving Alexis is Grayson's real story. He struggles with how to treat her, how to live with her, and how to love her in a way that does not feel selfish. The journey of the book is the struggle for them to find, and keep, the connection that draws them together instantly, with just one look.

This book is about:

Missed opportunities.

Misguided thinking on what has to be done to protect the people you love.

And, most of all...

It's about all of the ways the people who love us can disappoint us, but still be the people who love us most in the world.

I recommend this title.
