REMEMBER ME WHEN BY BROOKE BLAINE-RELEASE BLITZ

Experience the heartbreakingly beautiful journey of Ollie & Reid in…Remember Me When, the emotional conclusion to The Unforgettable Duet, from Brooke Blaine is now LIVE

My worst nightmare and your greatest fear became a reality:

You don’t remember me.

You don’t remember the accident, or the weeks afterward.

You don’t remember my bed as your safe place,

or when, against all odds, you fell for me.

You remember me only as the casual acquaintance you saw as you grabbed your daily coffee.

Three sugars, two creamers.

Perhaps an acquaintance is all I’ll ever be to you now.

Maybe I can shoulder the heartbreak and the loss of you, if it means you’ll be happy.

Unless…

You remember me when.

Remember Me When is the second and final book in The Unforgettable Duet and should only be read following Forget Me Not.

Remember Me When is the conclusion of Brooke Blaine's The Unforgettable Duet. This is absolutely not a standalone so if you haven't read Forget Me Not please stop and go read that book first. This was a fast read for me and I liked it overall.

I already liked the characters from the first book-and I still enjoyed them here. I thought that they were fairly true to themselves in this book, even if I struggled just a tiny bit in a couple of spots. But I still believed in their chemistry and in their connection. It's absolutely palpable between them.

I will say that this book felt a little off for me pacing wise. The beginning was a tiny bit slow but then the end felt rushed to me. But the writing itself was still good, I was still into the story. I read this book very quickly and enjoyed it overall. I would recommend this title.

White Knight is a standalone in the same world as King of Code, with its own beginning, middle, and end. You don't need to read anything else to read White Knight.

Leaning on the bleachers, Chris cracked peanuts between his teeth and spit the shells. I hadn’t seen him in days and it seemed like years. Every time I saw the kick of his hips and the way his lips stretched across his teeth when he smiled, it seemed like the first time. I watched him. He watched me. School started the next day. We’d go back into our different worlds. Would we meet again? Would we see each other at all? We’d grappled with the question by avoiding it. A waft of smoke from the grills came between us. We were alone. Surrounded by people, we were alone. He pitched his peanut bag in the trash and washed it back with a bottle of off-brand cola. When he finished, he sucked in his bottom lip to catch an errant drop. He tossed the bottle up. It spun in the air, and with a tap of his knuckle on its way down, he sent it into the trash. I stepped toward him, and he stepped back. Not away. He stepped back toward something, flicking his finger that I should follow. Easiest decision I’d ever made. It was barely even a decision. I glanced around for Mom and Dad. They were in the gazebo with Badger, the new mayor, and his staff. Harper and the kids played with the puppies while Johnny and his wife watched. Lance jaunted around the perimeter, peeing on poles whenever he could, nipping back any sibling who got too big for their britches, ever the alpha. I tilted directions slightly toward the bathrooms, then once past the bleachers, I saw Chris peeking from an alley between the hardware store and the library. I picked up my skirt and ran toward him, cutting the corner so hard I lost my balance. Out of nowhere, his hand was on my arm, keeping me from falling over. Finger to lips, he led me to a black iron door. He clinked through his keys and opened it, stepping out of the way so I could pass through. We were in an office. He closed the door with a loud clap, leaving the window as the only light. “Chris?” I barely got out the S before his lips kissed his name away. He put his hands on my jaw, keeping it still so he could invade my mouth. It felt good to give it to him. My body lost all its strength, held up only by the electrical currents between us. “Catherine,” he said in a breath, keeping his lips an inch from my face as he spoke. “Where are we?” “Back of the hardware store. I open on Thursdays.” “What are we going to do? I’m scared.” “Of me?” “Of not seeing you anymore.” “I’ll find you.” I clutched his shirt as if I’d be swept away without him. “I don’t fit in anywhere. Harper is so smart she tolerates me. The only time I feel right, like I’m part of something, like I belong, is when I’m with you.” “One more year. Then you can go to college and I’ll come after. We’ll be so far away, we’ll forget our names. When people ask where we’re from, we won’t even know.” “I don’t know if we’ll make it a year. I feel like they see us. Even now.” I must have been shaking, because he put his arms around me so tightly it hurt. I loved the pain of his attention. It was the pain of safety, of care, of being broken just enough for release. “Harder,” I said into his shoulder. He squeezed me so tightly I could just barely breathe, and the tension rolled off me like water. He let his arms go slack enough to look me in the face. “We’ll make it. Then I’ll follow you anywhere. I’ll be your puppy dog.” “Oh, Chris, don’t be silly.” “Don’t deny me. I’m yours.” He said the last word with a gusto I’d never associated with myself. As if life was something to grab with both hands and free like a bird that could carry us into the sky. Together, we were freedom. The bird launched from my chest and flew to my lips when we kissed again. Not a kiss of relief this time, but a kiss of passion. Ours was a kiss that began a string of thoughtless acts. His hands slid down my body, grazing my breasts, landing at my waist. I felt the hardness under his jeans. I should have been scared, or freaked out, or ashamed, but I wasn’t. I was free. He broke the kiss and stroked my bottom lip with his thumb. “Should we go back?” “No.” I took his wrist and put his hand on the triangle below my belly. He gasped and his lashes fluttered. Seeing that he liked it sent my body to the edge of common sense. This was crazy and I didn’t care. Being the good girl hurt, and this felt good. “My parents have to stay at the barbecue,” I said. “That’s their job.” He hesitated. Swallowed hard. Pinched a bit of my skirt fabric. I nodded.

CD Reiss is a New York Times bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn't pick up she's at the well hauling buckets. Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master's degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels. She's frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn't ever gotten her out of chopping that cord of wood. If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

SECRET LUCIDITY BY E.K. BLAIR-RELEASE BLITZ

Title: Secret Lucidity
Author: E.K. Blair
Genre: Student/Teacher Forbidden Romance
Release Date: February 26, 2018

Blurb

This wasn’t supposed to happen.

But it did.

This wasn’t supposed to be my life.

But it was.

I was just a typical girl, living a typical life. Nothing was out of the ordinary until tragedy threw me into a turnstile I couldn’t see my way out of. That was, until him.

I never could’ve imagined my heart falling the way it did. Hard, fast, and with unbounding beauty.

The only problem?

He was off limits.

Forbidden.

But he became my everything, and I became his, so we risked it all. It was only a matter of time until I realized that our risk came with unimaginable consequences.

My name is Camellia Hale and his is David Andrews, and this is our love story.

Forbidden romance, taboo story lines, people who should not be together because society (and sometimes the law) say they shouldn't be...are some of my favorites.

Authors handle it in different ways. Sometimes, it's the step brother who is older, so he never lived in the house, or the couple that meets when one of them is underage, but nothing happens until they are both above the age of consent.

And, then there are books like this one. About a 17 year old girl and a 31 year old man. I liked the way the author dealt with this, as the things Cam was handling, the things happening in her life, would have given her a maturity. And, we saw this as the story unfolded, as she stepped away from the things in her life that no longer worked after her accident (happens at the very beginning, not a spoiler) because she was no longer that person.

Cam and David were interesting. I liked the progression of their relationship. I liked their acknowledgement that it was legally wrong but not to them. I liked that they were both willing participants and while there were times that Cam seemed young, most of the time, I had no issues believing that she was making an honest choice to be involved with David, and that her feelings were real.

That, I think, was the toughest challenge, as Cam is 17. I needed to believe that the relationship was real and that she was mature enough to hold the interest of David, at 31. And, I did believe it. I found it authentic.

The ending, however, was not quite what I wanted. The things that happened before the last chapter (so trying not to spoil) worked for me...but there were things between the end of the last chapter and them meeting at the coffee shop, that would have interested me. And, I wish there was at least some of that in there...however, I see why the author plotted the story the way she did.

This is my first title by this author, I enjoyed it, I recommend it, and I am looking forward to the next one by E. K. Blair.

ROCK KING BY TARA LEIGH - BLOG TOUR AND ARC REVIEW

Fans of Kristen Callihan and Kylie Scott will scream for this sizzling bad boy rock star romance!

I'm not who you think I am.

Shane Hawthorne has it all. At least, that's what the headlines say about me. I have millions of fans, awards, more money - and women - than I know what to do with. But what you don't see is the wreckage I've caused. The memories and pain I can't escape, even when I pour them into music and spin them into gold.

I tried to forget. To lose myself in booze and groupies. It didn't work. It hurt me and - worse - it hurt my band. That's the last thing I want to do, so I'm cleaning up my act... starting with Delaney Fraser.

Gorgeous, smart, drama-free, and even nice - Delaney is the perfect "girlfriend." When I'm with her I don't have to pretend. It's like she sees the real me. And I can see a future with her. But that's dangerous. Because the truth is, Shane Hawthorne doesn't actually exist. He's a shield to hide who I really am. Fraud. Runaway. Addict. Murderer.

And it's impossible to love a lie, right?

The Nothing but Trouble series: Rock King Rock Legend Rock Rebel

This book is a rock star romance, and there are certain elements that always exist in this trope.  the rock star is going to be sexy, and at least a bit of a bad boy.  The woman he gets involved with is either going to be hired to be around him, or from a completely different world.  This was all in here...and yet it was done in a way that felt a little different, I think because even though he is tough on the outside, you get Shane's POV and you know that he is pretty much in love with Delaney from about their second meeting.

I liked this.  I liked the story of the bad boy who really relies on the girl.  And, I liked how vulnerable he allowed himself to be.  There are a couple of really heartbreaking moments in the book, both around her possibly leaving or him thinking that she will choose to leave, that really drew me to the character and to the emotion of the story.

I also thought her "secret", the thing she is keeping from Shane and the world was realistic and that Shane's reaction was authentic.  So often, the horrible end of the relationship break up that happens in a romance feels like it is there because the plot requires it (and let's face it, it really often does) but in this title, it felt real.

This is the second title by this author that I have read.  I enjoyed, but didn't love the first one.  This one, however, was very well done and enjoyable from beginning to end.

I recommend this title, and I am looking forward to the next in the series.

My eyes skidded over Delaney, taking in her flushed face and now naked lips, their gloss left behind on her wineglass. I continued my downward trajectory, sweeping over every inch she’d poured into the red dress still scratching at my corneas. “I don’t know what kind of guys you’ve been with before—but I’m with you right now because I think you’re fucking gorgeous. I look at your face and all I see is your perfect mouth, practically begging for me to kiss you.” Finishing the last of my beer, I set the glass on the table. “That night, I could barely tear my eyes away from your ass, like half the guys there. And as for the rest of you, no one needs to tell me that you were made for my touch, Delaney.” I kept my comments focused on Delaney’s physical attributes because everything else—especially this strange connection we seemed to share—made me feel like I was unraveling from the deepest part of me. It was too big, too unruly, to cage in with mere words. But whatever it was, it had kept me from walking away. My heart thudding, I tried to stem the tide of words leaking from my mouth, but they wouldn’t stop. “I don’t want you because Travis told me I should. I want you because...Goddamn it, I’d have to be dead not to.”

Tara Leigh attended Washington University in St. Louis and Columbia Business School in New York, and worked on Wall Street and Main Street before “retiring” to become a wife and mother. Tara currently lives in Fairfield County, Connecticut with her husband, children and fur-baby, Pixie.

LOVE & INK BY J. D, HAWKINS - BLOG TOUR & ARC REVIEW

I'm a world famous tattoo artist with a six month waiting list. Everybody's begging me to put my ink on them. I'm the hottest shit in L.A., and can get any girl I want. So the last thing I expect is for Ash Carter to walk into my shop and blow me off.
I've spent the last seven years screwing half the women in the northern hemisphere, but nobody could come close to the girl I left behind. Ash was my world. But in order to protect her, I had to let her go. It was the biggest mistake of my life. And now I'll do anything to get her back.
It's been seven years since we last spoke. Seven long years of trying to ignore the memory of her skin, her eyes, her incredible confidence. She is everything I remember. Still stubborn and feisty and sexy as hell. They say you should forgive and forget. But Ash can never forget what I did. And I can never forgive myself.
She's left a permanent mark on my heart.
But even if she takes me back, will we be able to overcome the past? Will we be able to move forward towards our future?

This isn't my first read from this author and it won't be my last. I'm a sucker for second chance romances so that alone sparked my interest in the blurb. Once I started reading I was definitely hooked and I enjoyed this story.

I liked Ash and Teo, I really did. I liked them individually and I really liked them together. I was rooting for them from the very start-because again, I'm a sucker for second chances. I wanted them to have that shot to make it work, to grow from their past into what they could have in the present and future. Overall, that happened for me.

The chemistry between these two is unmistakable. It pops off the pages and I was just dying for them to give in to it again. I liked the journey that these two took together and I thought it was believable.

I liked the secondary characters here. I thought they were fun but didn't overwhelm Ash and Teo at all. The secondary characters provided just the right amount of support.

I thought the writing here flowed incredibly well. The only thing is that I wish is that we figured out some things from the past sooner than we did. But that's just a personal thing. I enjoyed this story and look forward to what this author brings us next. I recommend this title.

This is an odd review to write.  Was this my favorite of the titles I have read by J. D. Hawkins?  No, it actually wasn't.  I enjoyed it, and I liked Ash and Teo...but I never totally felt the connection to the characters that I wanted.  I liked them, and I believed they felt the connection, but it never really was one that I felt.

That said, this is, from a writing standpoint, likely the best thing I have read by this author.  The plotting was strong, the characters well-developed, the actual sentence structure and the mechanics of the writing were close to perfect.

Why I didn't connect totally with a well-written and well-plotted story?  I thought on this.  For a while actually.  And, I think, for me, there was too much unknown as to the reason that Teo left, and for too long, for me to totally connect.  Part of the romance, especially in a second chance romance, is the belief that the characters are able to move past, well, their past. In order for me to believe this is possible, I need to at least know that the characters know what happened and have moved beyond it.  There are a lot of second chance where the characters know the details and the reader is let into them slowly, or the reader is told them through the thoughts of the characters.  Those work for me, as I am able to decide on my own that I believe it is something I am able to see them getting past.

I get why Mr. Hawkins chose to wait to reveal the past until he did, and while I think it works for the story overall, it lessened my connection to the relationship.

There were some really amazing moments, Ash's thoughts upon waking up with him actually there, his defense of her when she is being treated badly, his encouragement of her to take the risks and meet the challenges she is facing head on.  All of that was really good.  I think, for me, I wanted it to have more foundation than it did when we reached those points in the narrative.

That said, I enjoyed this book. I liked the characters, I enjoyed the secondary characters and the glimpses into the lives that both Ash and Teo led.

I recommend this title.

“You want something to drink?” she calls from some other room.
“Sure. Something strong.”
“Vodka ok?”
“Always.”
I pace around the room a little, lust still pumping me full of adrenaline, taking in the details, stopping to study a Basquiat print above a bookcase. Flashbacks of conversations we had in her bed rushing through my mind, until she clinks some glasses behind me and I turn around.
“Here you go,” she says, handing me the glass.
I take it from her, sip slowly, but my eyes stay on hers—a living work of art even more captivating than what’s on the walls. The alcohol burns, hitting the spot, but I’m intoxicated enough by the room, by the smell, by her. She must sense it, because she breaks my gaze, eyelashes flickering away as she smiles down, but her coyness only ignites the fire building within me.
I put my drink down and throw her on the couch so I can gaze at those lush curves, trace my eyes down the length of that magnificent body.
I trace a finger around her ear, down her neck. She trembles like a leaf under my touch, skin cool with goosebumps. Her breath quickening, hot and heavy.
I climb on top of her and we devour each other’s mouths as I tug her pants off and she pulls her shirt over her head. We roll around on the couch, her hands squeezing my cock, my mouth sucking each nipple until her breath shudders, her fingers clawing down my back. I need to taste her.
I pull away, enjoying how she hisses with unresolved desire.
“Why are you stopping?” she asks, her voice tinged with desperation.
I growl, low and firm, “I’m not. I’m going to eat you.”

RETURN TO US BY CHRISTY PASTORE - RELEASE BLITZ AND ARC REVIEW

I married the man of every woman’s dreams.

My husband is the leading man in their filthy fantasies. I know because they’ve told me.

Matthew Barber is Tinsel Town’s most sought-after movie star and I’m the girl next door. Tinley Atkinson, the former child star with an Ivy League education, and the daughter of a deceased Broadway legend.

Three short years later, it’s all crashing down.

We were the quintessential celebrity couple—Mattley, Hollywood’s Heartthrob and America’s Sweetheart.

We fell in love, and the whole world watched as our fairytale romance unfolded between the pages of glossy magazine spreads and candid moments splashed online.

The public is fascinated with the rumors swirling around us—I’m the jilted wife and he’s the no-good cheater. I’m infertile and years of drug abuse is to blame. He wants kids and I would rather have a career.

He’s the love of my life.

What am I going to do about that?

Marriage is tough and it’s even tougher in Hollywood, I’m ready to fight . . .

For me.

For him.

For us.

Tinley and Matthew are married at the start of the book and, as the blurb tells you, this is a marriage that is struggling, that is having issues with where they are and where they go from here. Tinley grew up in the public eye and has withdrawn from it. Matthew is Hollywood's current it man. So, they meet when they are pursuing different things in their lives, and this is a tension at the beginning, and throughout the marriage...balancing what they each want with the pressures of where they are in their lives, careers and marriage.

This book grabbed me from the beginning, and I was hooked from the last line of the prologue. You really know, as the prologue begins, where Matthew is in the marriage, and where Tinley is, both as a result and as part of how they got to where they are.

The book is told bouncing from present to different points in the past, although after the prologue, you spend a large portion of the book in the past with them getting together and getting to know the characters. And, what I liked about this is you have an idea as to where they each are in the marriage after the prologue, and while you are reading their relationship, their first meeting, the next ones where they start to seem like fate, to guessing middle names and coordinating schedules...you know where it is potentially going to end up.

I loved this. Especially as Christy Pastore is a new author to me, I was pretty sure they would work it out, but at the same time, you never know how an author is going to handle picking up a couple in the middle of a marriage that is at the point where they either need to recommit or walk away. Matthew is charming, and he loves Tinley...and she loves him.

The story is told in alternating POVs, which I think works well, as they deal with some rumors and some doubts and being able, as a reader, to know what is and is not true for each of them helps the reader stay on the side of them working it out, as you like both of them.

This is the first title I have read by this author, and I definitely enjoyed it.
