Title - Target: A Circle of Justice Novel
Author - LP Dover
Genre - Romantic Suspense Standalone
Release Date - April 4, 2017 Cover Designed By - Mae I Design and Photography

An assassin . . . that’s what I am.

I’m Wade Chandler by day and a killer at night. I get the job done no matter the cost. Not only do I hunt people for the FBI, but I’m also the owner of Chandler Enterprises, one of the top companies in the southeast.

When Brina Carmichael – daughter of the former president – wants my business advice, it’s hard to resist her long legs and seductive smile. One thing leads to another and now I’m in too deep.

I can’t let her know what I am, but I’ve never wanted a woman the way I want her.

However, harboring secrets comes at a price and I have a feeling she’s keeping some of her own. Especially, when my next mission leads me straight to her. Turns out she’s not who I thought she was.

Wade and Brina were interesting. The backstories of the characters, the way they intertwined and then separated were compelling. I love the idea that they were in the periphery of one another's lives for years.

The chemistry was believable and I thought they reacted as real people would, or at least the way I think real people would in the situation.

And, then I am stuck with the writing of the review as, while I saw it coming, the end of the story, and discussing the characters, is a spoiler as to what is going on and who they each are.

So, I am going to keep this one short, out of necessity more than anything, as not only is there a big something you don;t know, but there are a lot of clues built into the reveal...and telling much of anything about the plot could very much lead to a giant accidental spoiler.

The pacing was a little uneven, I thought the end of the story moved much more quickly than the beginning. As I mentioned, the characters realistic and I believed in them and their reactions.

I am not positive I totally believed in the resolution, as it seemed a little quick to me (hence the pacing issue) but it was not enough of an issue to keep me from being able to give this book a positive rating and recommendation.

Standing at the receptionist’s desk, I waited to hear the verdict. Would Wade see me or not? When I heard his answer, I breathed a sigh of relief. I didn’t want my stupidity to ruin my shop’s chances at success. The receptionist smiled up at me. “You can go back now, Ms. Carmichael. His office is the last one on the right.” “Thank you,” I replied with a smile of my own. Pulse pounding in my ears, I walked down the hall to Wade’s office. I had a folder of my designs tucked under my arm. Hopefully, it’d be enough to persuade him. Taking a deep breath, I knocked on his door. “Come in,” he called out, his voice making me shiver. I hated how this man made me feel like that. It’d been over a week and I could still feel the way he touched every square inch of my body. I wasn’t a needy woman, but he made me want more. This is business, nothing more. Head held high, I opened the door. Wade was at his desk, leaning back in his chair, all cool and confident, dressed in his expensive suit with his brown hair perfectly coifed. Definitely not a bundle of nerves, like I was. “Mr. Chandler, it’s good to see you again.” His brows lifted. “Likewise. Although I’d probably believe it more if you hadn’t run out on me the last time.” And there it was. Biting my lip, I shut the door. I couldn’t tell if he was angry, or didn’t care. “Thought I’d save you the trouble,” I confessed. “We both had a little too much to drink that night. And let’s face it, it was either going to be me or you. And I prefer not to be the one left behind.” “Neither do I,” he said in all seriousness. “So, what brings you here?”

ROYAL DISASTER BY PARKER SWIFT-ARC REVIEW

Dylan and Lydia's story continues! "Emotional, intense and beyond sexy. Dylan Hale will light your panties on fire, not that you'll be allowed to wear them anyway." - New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting
"He's not who you think he is . . . "

Meeting Dylan Hale has turned my life upside down. I'm dating an actual duke who's devastatingly handsome and deliciously naughty. On the surface, I'm living the high life. But this surreal world of royalty and paparazzi is getting out of control.

Someone knows way too much about Dylan and me-about the moments when we're alone, about how his hands leave a trail of fire over my skin . . . about the complete control he has over me between the sheets. And worse, it's starting to become clear that Dylan's keeping secrets from me, too . . .

I enjoyed the 1st in the series, so I had high hopes for this one...which were not totally met.

Don't get me wrong, the 2nd installment of Dylan and Lydia's story wasn't bad...it was just missing the compelling tension of the 1st story in the trilogy.  They are together, they are happy.  Yes, the threat that was alluded to in the first book is there, but it is really on the back-burner.  This book felt like a glance into a couple who was involved happily.

And, I think this missed a lot of the potential angst and drama that it could have included.  Yes, I am saying I wanted the happy couple to have things to deal with.  Not that I am against them being happy, but the first was so emotional, I wanted the same from this one.

I think the 3rd has a lot of potential, and the set up for it has a lot going on that I am looking forward to.  This one to me felt like a really long set up to bridge the action from the 1st to the 3rd.  Not bad, necessarily as Dylan is still a lot of fun...and he is hot, and still a dirty talked who is a lot of fun in bed.

I guess, to me, the book was a bit of a let down from the 1st and a good set up for the 3rd.  I do recommend it, as I think the time together that was mostly smooth is going to be important for the next one...but this is really a book that is for the people who read the 1st and wants another glimpse of them before the changes happen in the 3rd that were set up in the second.

I hesitantly recommend this book...and I look forward to the 3rd one.

Excerpt: A Fare to Remember by Opal Carew

“Have you ever thought of doing something else? My company—”

“Stop right there,” she said, leaning forward, her eyes intense. “I like driving a cab. It’s what I want to do. So don’t judge me or try to help me out of my sad, impoverished life. I’m doing what I love. That’s probably more than you can say.”

He laughed. “Touché. As it turns out, though, I do love what I do. It has become a bit lackluster recently though. I could use something new to liven things up.”

“Is that what this is all about?” she asked, her gaze cautious. “Asking me in for coffee? Talking to me like I’m a date? You want to screw the lady cabbie to add a little excitement to your life?”

“If I was pursuing you, it wouldn’t be so I could screw you.” He leaned in closer. “I would slowly and purposefully seduce you, then take you to heights of ecstasy far surpassing anything you have ever experienced before.”

Rather than looking shocked, her eyebrow quirked up. “That would be more difficult than you think. Hank might have been a jerk, but he was the best lay I’ve ever had.”

He grinned. “I’m sure I could meet the challenge.”

* * *

Stevie couldn’t believe her own words. What the hell was she doing? But this guy, he was so … so … damn, he was so gut-wrenchingly sexy her hormones were boiling over in a wild fit of primal desire.

She reached for her coffee, purposefully brushing her hand against his. Electrifying desire sparked between them. She picked up her cup, making a decision she knew she would probably regret later, but right now, she didn’t care.

“All right.” Then she stood up and turned toward the door.

He followed her to the cab and got in, then she pulled away from the curb in silence.

She passed his hotel and drove another couple of blocks, then pulled down a side street. It was a quiet, out-of-the-way place she would sometimes use to grab a nap if needed during a long shift. She had friends in the neighborhood that looked out for her. She opened the door and got out of the cab. Her handsome passenger followed.

“Aren’t you going to come up to my hotel room?” he asked.

She walked toward him and rested her hand on his warm chest. A surge of adrenaline rushed through her.

“I think here will do fine.”

“You don’t like a comfortable bed?”

She smiled, loving the fact that she was keeping a man off balance for a change. She stroked up his chest, then along his jaw, the light dusting of whiskers sending tingles through her.

“I don’t need a bed.”

Then she cupped his cheeks and kissed him, feeling every bit in control.

Until his arms came around her and she felt herself crushed against his chest. He pulled off her hat and tossed it onto the roof of the cab. Her long blonde hair fell around her shoulders in waves. He drew back and smiled, running his fingers through the soft strands.

“That’s much better.”

Then she felt herself backed against the wall. He leaned against her, his cobalt-blue gaze locked on hers.

“If this is what you want, then that’s fine with me,” he murmured.

His hands glided up and down her body, sending tingles through her. He hadn’t touched any intimate place on her body yet, other than their joining of lips, but she felt he’d taken ownership of her whole being.

Then his hand glided over her chest and he cupped her breast. The feel of his warm hand surrounding her, even through the layers of clothing, started a blaze within her. She could feel her nipples harden with need.

He kneaded her soft mound while his mouth took ownership of hers again. His tongue pushed between her lips and drove inside.

Oh, God, she was feeling out of her depth. She didn’t know what she’d expected, but him being so comfortable and in control in this dark alley wasn’t it.

His hand found its way under her jacket, then inside her shirt. He cupped her breast, just the lace of her bra a barrier between them now.

“You feel good,” he murmured against her ear. Then he rocked his hips forward and she felt a thick bulge against her stomach.

A shock of awareness rippled through her. It hadn’t really hit home what she was about to do until she felt his erection pushing against her. She was about to have sex—in a dark alleyway—with a total stranger.

She felt his fingers unfastening the button of her jeans. She sucked in a breath and grabbed his hands, then pushed them away.

Opal Carew writes erotic fiction. As I recall, her profile says as much.

This was erotic. They meet in a cab and pull over for sex in an alley before the first ride is over. If this doesn't work for you, stop reading now. Because, it only gets more erotic from there. Into the story comes bondage, submission and a threesome.

And, it works. It is well written, the sex is hot and, well, erotic. I appreciate Opal Carew's writing as she actually tells a story in the middle of the sex, which is not something that always happens in erotic fiction...and this is the reason I keep reading her.

That and the hot sex. :)

I recommend this book.

RIPTIDE BY KATHYRN NOLAN-RELEASE BLITZ

Avery Dacosta never expected to find a protester in front of her office.

Especially not now, when she’s this close to achieving a professional milestone years in the making: building a luxury hotel on Playa Vieja, San Diego’s untouched beach paradise.

Finn Travis, local surfer and all-around nice guy, never expected to find himself the leader of Playa Vieja’s resistance. He’s more of a mellow tree-hugger than a radical activist. Except Avery’s hotel threatens to destroy the place he loves the most. For the first time in his life, Finn decides to use his charisma for more than just attracting his next fling.

Avery’s worked too hard to let a bongo-playing hippie like Finn shatter her perfect future. And his naive idealism grates on her every nerve.

She’s not alone in her loathing: Finn thinks Avery is a greedy, corporate robot.

As Avery and Finn crash together like waves against the shore, their debates become heated. Sexy.

Dirty.

But the riptide of their attraction jeopardizes more than just their ideological values. Can Avery and Finn be together without giving up what they care about the most?

I read Kathryn Nolan's novella Cuffed last year and loved her writing so I jumped at the chance to read Riptide. I am so glad that I did! This book caught me in a way totally unexpected, and I mean that in the best possible way. I fully expected to enjoy this book but I more than enjoyed this, I loved it. The plot was refreshing, the pacing worked, and I adored the characters. Oh, and there were some steamy scenes-which I definitely enjoyed.

I found myself relating to Avery in a very real (almost uncomfortable at times) way. She's smart, driven and determined. She's also incredibly passionate. She has a plan and she's intent on following through. Her career, and what it represents, are important to her...and may have slightly caused her to try to cut some roots from her life.

Finn was a great match, and sometimes foil, to Avery. He definitely had me swooning in this and I would have traded placed with Avery several times over...if you know what I mean.

There's definitely chemistry between these two. You feel it right from the start. I was pulled into their emotions and gladly went along for the ride.

This book was smart. It was well written. It made me sympathize and understand both characters-without making me feel like I was wrong for agreeing with one person over the other. It's passionate. Kathryn Nolan has outdone herself with this book-and I can't wait to see what she gives us next.

Kathryn Nolan writes erotic romance novels and quick-and-dirty novellas. She loves a smart, strong heroine. She likes her heroes filthy-mouthed (and not afraid to bend a little).

And she’s all about that slow-burn sexual tension.

When she’s not at her day job (which is top-secret) she enjoys feminism, foreplay and having her nose in a book.

She’s a morning writer, a bike commuter, and the world’s biggest X-Files fan.

CO-WRECKER BY MEGHAN QUINN-BLOG TOUR

SBPR-CO-Wrecker-BT-4-3-4

Co-Wrecker, an all new sexy, laugh out loud romantic comedy is available now!

coWRECKER

Co-Wrecker by Meghan Quinn Publication Date: March 23, 2017

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Photographer: Lauren Watson Perry

Synopsis:

What do ice cream and Sadie Montgomery have in common? They're both ice cold, but one taste is never enough.

I wanted to be friends — I would have even settled for her seeing me as anything but a nerd — but there was no getting through. So just like any hard-headed, red-blooded man out there, I made up my mind.

I’d make my coworker fall for me.

I’d like to say it was simple, but like every other epic love story, all it took was one drunken night and a lot of naked courage to get the girl. For a moment, at least.

Love with a coworker is never simple, especially since Sadie’s trying to keep us on the low. Not to mention her persistent ex-boyfriend who won’t leave her alone. But I’ve never been good at giving up, and I don’t plan to start now.

The whole thing is a recipe for a rocky road, but I plan to eat the whole gallon, no matter how bad the brain freeze.

The title for this book caught my eye and since I enjoy a good coworker romance I wanted to give this book a try. The blurb made me even more excited to give this book a try since it had me chuckling. The book definitely had laughs, had some tender moments and some heat.

I immediately liked Andrew. I thought he was positively adorable. Naive, but adorable. He definitely had the nerdy hot vibe, which isn't normally an immediate draw for me but it worked here. I appreciated his pursuit of Sadie-even when she clearly wanted nothing to do with him.

Sadie was a bit harder for me to connect with. It took me longer than I expected to get into her head and understand where she was coming from so I spent part of the book not loving her. I thought she was ok, but I didn't know if I wanted her with Andrew right away. She did win me over and I really appreciated her struggle where she was coming from.

There were times when the secondary characters got in my way a bit. The nicknames threw me off too a little; I'm used to getting the nicknames for people after meeting them but that was easily gotten over. I'm a former waitress so I appreciated the accurate representation of what working in the restaurant world is like.

Overall this book did make me laugh. I really liked Andrew and Sadie grew on me and I definitely liked them together. If you're looking for a funny romcom with a college setting, I recommend giving Co-Wrecker a try.

Excerpt:

Knowing I will probably regret this, I lift from the freezer, ice cream scraper in hand, and jerk toward Sadie just in time to slip on some melted ice on the floor shooting me across the fountain and straight into Sadie. But not just Sadie; straight into her chest—her billowing, womanly chest. It’s a satisfyingly soft cushion for my head but from her instant outrage, I’m going to guess she’s not keen on me using her breasts as a pillow. “What the hell are you doing?” she asks, trying to back away, difficult when I’ve got her pinned against the counter. Fumbling to get some kind of grasp on my falling body, scraper still in hand, I give her a bit of motor boat—not on purpose—and muffle in her breasts, “I’m sowwy.” “Get off me.” “I’m twying,” I say, finally getting a grip on the counter behind her and standing tall. Glasses askew, hat on the floor, and a smothered feeling on my face, I straighten my apron and clear my throat. “My apologies.” Her friend is laughing, hand on her stomach, as I push my glasses back on my nose. “Although, I’m grateful for your sturdy bosom for catching my fall. It might have been a twisty straw to the eye, and I’m not sure my glasses would have held up on such an impact.” Sturdy bosom? Shit, Andrew, don’t fucking say words like bosom. And for the love of God, don’t say a woman has a STURDY bosom. Say words like tits. Tits are more manly. “Tits,” I mutter. “Excuse me?” Sadie has the look of horror on her face. Fuck, did I say that out loud? “I think he said tits, Sadie,” her friend cuts in, thumbing through the straw holder. Yup, I said tits out loud. “I heard him, Smills,” Sadie mutters under her breath. Glaring at me, looking for an answer, I shrug my shoulders, because I have nothing. No way of digging myself out of this one. Funny how your brain can literally stop working the minute you need it the most. Come on, old fella, kick it into high gear. Come up with something witty, something snarky, something that will put a Band-Aid over this rather raw and embarrassing incident. But, good fuck. I just had my face in her chest. What man could come back quickly from that? “Well . . .” Sadie has her arms crossed over her bosom, waiting for an answer. No. Her arms are crossed over her breasts. Shit. Shit. Nerves crawl up the back of my neck, igniting my ears into lava levels of heat. Crap. Just say anything. Clearing my throat, I pat her shoulder and say, “Sturdy tits.” And here I thought it couldn’t get any worse, at least my hand didn’t pat down her breast to see if her nipples were made of steel, or to see if her areolas consist of chain-link mesh. You have to look at the positive.
