Falling back in love never felt this good… When Shaelyn Lawrence returns to New Orleans after twelve years, she has no intention of sticking around long enough to unpack her stilettos and put the “y’all” back in her vocabulary. No, she has a plan – a plan that will get her in and out of New Orleans on the fast track. One, return her grandmother back to health. Two, evade her ex-boyfriend, Brady Taylor. But when her grandmother decides to meddle in Shaelyn’s life, her plan might as well be rewritten. Suddenly, she’s trading flirtatious barbs with Brady at every turn and, oh boy, actually enjoying it. This was so not the plan. Homicide Detective Brady Taylor has one plan: be promoted to Sergeant for the New Orleans Police Department. He’s cut out every possible distraction – that is, until Shaelyn Lawrence reenters his life. She was the one woman who held his heart, and when an unexpected kiss leads to even hotter nights in bed, Brady realizes that the last thing he wants is for Shaelyn to walk away. Now Brady must decide which is more important, his career or the one woman he’s ever loved. But will Shaelyn give up her carefully crafted plans long enough to give her relationship with Brady another chance? Or will secrets better left hidden tear them apart forever?

About Maria Luis

Maria Luis is the author of the contemporary romance NOLA Heart series, though she may or may not have (read: she does) a few completed historical romances hiding in the cobwebs of the interwebs (read: her Google doc drive).
When she’s not writing about strong men and the sassy women who sweep them off their feet, Maria is a historian/content marketing buff with a specialization on medieval England and 19th century New Orleans. What do the two eras have in common, you ask? Not much, except for disease, scandalous activities and crime–Maria’s favorite topics.
Maria currently lives in New Orleans with her better half, where she can generally be found hiking with her two dogs, Zeus and Athena, kayaking in Louisiana’s intercoastal or curled up on the couch with a good book.
She is a member of Romance Writers of America, a RWA PRO Member, as well as an active book reviewer on NetGalley.

TEMPT THE BOSS BY NATASHA MADISON-RELEASE DAY BLITZ

Lauren

Going back to work was supposed to be a painless transition, but when my new boss turns out to be an arrogant, cocky jerk, he quickly turns my professional life into a world of torture. Okay, fine, calling him an asshat before knowing he was my boss wasn't my finest moment. Hating him should be easy. I just never counted on him being so gorgeous or charming when he's not annoying me.

Austin

I expected my new assistant to be professional and punctual, but all I'm getting are dirty looks and rude comments. I should fire the little hellion, but instead all I can think about is bending her over my desk and breaking every rule I've ever made for myself.

One look. One touch. One night. If we break the rules, our lives will never be the same again.

Good thing rules were made to be broken. And besides, it feels so good to Tempt the Boss.

I love a good office romance, and when the romance is a boss to employee, and it starts off with a bang (and not even the kind you are thinking of) well, that is even more fun. There is a delicate balance in enemies to lovers books and, well, Lauren and Austin don't exactly hit it off in the best possible way. And, they let one another know...in creative ways. And, the author handled this well...she stayed on the side of funny and away from mean and harmful...for the most part. There were a couple of times where I was worried it wasn't going to stop where it did, but the author kept it from mean spirited, so it was all good.

I liked Lauren and Austin, I liked their journey and evolution as characters. I liked the way it was handled. I really appreciated that you were there with Lauren, and with Austin as they had realizations about the situation that showed the ways in which they were changing and how being together was actually something they each wanted.

Natasha Madison has a writing style that really appeals to me. In the first books of hers I read, Hell and Back and Pieces of Heaven, they were 2 separate stories that overlapped, so you saw the same story but from a different angle/POV. In Tempt the Boss, we get the POV change with Lauren and Austin, and we get to see some of the events as they happen to both of them...there is minor repetition of dialog, which serves as a way to set the scene very effectively, so you are able to easily follow along while getting the other side of the story.

The dialog and the writing are clean. There were a couple of places where I thought the way something was written was slightly off, but this happens, as different authors write differently, and it was nothing that pulled me out of the story.

They say you can't judge a book by it's cover. And, while this is true...I have to admit that this cover really works for me. And, you will be glad to know the insides of this one are just as good as the outside promises.

I recommend this book.

When her nose isn't buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she's in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It's a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn't listen to her...

LIFT 4 Autism Online Auction: Monday, April 24 - Friday, April 28

Autism. A mystery to some. A way of life for others. A cause for all since it is now the fastest growing and most common disability in the US. 1 in every 68 children are diagnosed with Autism. Many of these kids will rely on their parents to some degree, depending on severity, all their lives, with estimated costs between 5 to 7 million dollars in services and care over their lifetime. Many of the services those living with Autism require are not covered by insurance. It is an expensive and difficult lifelong diagnosis to navigate. Authors Ginger Scott and Kennedy Ryan started LIFT 4 Autism a few years ago as a charitable initiative rallying the romance reading community in April, which is Autism Awareness/Acceptance month. All proceeds go to this year’s charitable partner Kulture City, who is doing amazing things for Autism families. Discover more about them at kulturecity.org. Specifically, LIFT will benefit Kulture City’s lifeBOKS program, which provides families with free kits to curtail wandering, a common and potentially life threatening challenge. Proceeds will also benefit Kulture City’s tablet program, which provides iPads to improve communication for non and limited verbal children on the spectrum to families who cannot afford them. REVELRY BY KANDI STEINER-COVER REVEAL

Title: Revelry
Author: Kandi Steiner
Release Date: April 20, 2017

From the bestselling author of Weightless and A Love Letter to Whiskey

Wren Ballard is trying to find herself.

She never expected to be divorced at twenty-seven, but now that the court date has passed, it’s official. The paperwork is final. Her feelings on it aren’t.

Spending the summer in a small mountain town outside Seattle is exactly what she needs. The peaceful scenery is a given, the cat with the croaky meow is a surprise, but the real kicker? A broody neighbor with nice arms, a strange reputation, and absolutely no interest in her.

Anderson Black is perfectly fine being lost.

He doesn’t care about the town’s new resident — he’s too busy fighting his own demons. But when he’s brought face to face with Wren, he can see her still-fresh wounds from a mile away. What he doesn’t see coming is his need to know who put them there — or his desperation to mend them.

Sometimes getting lost is the way to find yourself. Sometimes healing only adds a new scar. And sometimes the last place you expected to be is exactly where you find home.

I stared at the piles of bags, debating which to tackle first before slowly loading them onto each arm one by one. Once I was red-faced and struggling and decided there was, in fact, no way I’d get them all in one trip, I turned to make my way inside the cabin. But I stopped short.

There was a man at the end of my driveway.

He was just standing there, staring at me, a large, rusted toolbox in one hand and rolled up sheet of paper in the other. Everything about him was hard — the bend in his brows, the edge of his jaw, the line of scruff that framed it. And because I was me, of course I noticed what he was wearing, and it was the first time in a long time that I’d seen someone who dressed for efficiency, not for style. His jeans were worn, but not dirty, with plenty of pockets that I could tell were each used in their own way. He donned a simple, deep red thermal with sleeves pushed up to his elbows and slight stains that ran down his chest and abdomen, and a charcoal gray hat sat low over his eyes, shielding them from the sun.

He was tan, and even from the distance his eyes sparked against the warm hue of his skin. They were bright — blue, maybe? Or green? I couldn’t be sure, and I let his potent appearance mesmerize me for just a moment more before I shifted, hoisting the bags in my right hand up enough for me to attempt a half wave.

If possible, his brow lowered further, and he simply stalked off, clearing the view of my driveway in seconds.

I frowned.

“Well, hello to you, too.”

Kandi Steiner is a bestselling author and whiskey connoisseur living in Tampa, FL. Best known for writing “emotional rollercoaster” stories, she loves bringing flawed characters to life and writing about real, raw romance — in all its forms. No two Kandi Steiner books are the same, and if you’re a lover of angsty, emotional, and inspirational reads, she’s your gal.

An alumna of the University of Central Florida, Kandi graduated with a double major in Creative Writing and Advertising/PR with a minor in Women’s Studies. She started writing back in the 4th grade after reading the first Harry Potter installment. In 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. Eventually, the principal caught on and the newspaper was quickly halted, though Kandi tried fighting for her “freedom of press.” She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a die hard hopeless romantic, and likes to highlight all the challenges of love as well as the triumphs.

When Kandi isn’t writing, you can find her reading books of all kinds, talking with her extremely vocal cat, and spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys live music, traveling, anything heavy in carbs, beach days, movie marathons, craft beer and sweet wine — not necessarily in that order.

NEW BEGINNINGS BY SARAH STEIN-COVER REVEAL

I’ve always been an avid reader of romance, paranormal, and erotica. Reading has been my passion at an early age, and it’s what led me to experiment with writing. I’ve always had a passion for literature and creating stories from nothing. Today, I’m a multi-published romance and erotica author. My writing career began February 2016, since then I’ve written other works in various genres under pseudo names.

I’m from south Louisiana but reside in south Texas with my husband of many years, two children, a cat, a German shepherd, and a Dachshund. When I’m not spending quality time with my family, I’m singing, reading, writing, or researching for my present book.

BEAUTIFUL STRANGER BY CHRISTINA LAUREN-REVIEW

Escaping a cheating ex, finance whiz Sara Dillon’s moved to New York City and is looking for excitement and passion without a lot of strings attached. So meeting the irresistible, sexy Brit at a dance club should have meant nothing more than a night’s fun. But the manner—and speed—with which he melts her inhibitions turns him from a one-time hookup and into her Beautiful Stranger.

The whole city knows that Max Stella loves women, not that he’s ever found one he particularly wants to keep around. Despite pulling in plenty with his Wall Street bad boy charm, it’s not until Sara—and the wild photos she lets him take of her—that he starts wondering if there’s someone for him outside of the bedroom.

Hooking up in places where anybody could catch them, the only thing scarier for Sara than getting caught in public is having Max get too close in private.

This was my first Christina Lauren book but it definitely won't be my last. One of my favorite authors was talking about this book which prompted me to one click it-and I was pulled in from the very start. There are books that can make you smile, books that can make you sigh and books that make you swoon. Beautiful Stranger does all that and more-it is one of the rare books for me that is the total package.

Sara Dillon is looking for a fresh start after coming out of a long term relationship. She's trying to figure out who she is on her own, what she likes, what she wants. Seeing her blossom in her journey was so much fun. I sympathized with what she was going through and I cheered for her every step of the way. She wasn't expecting Max in her life-and neither was I.

Max Stella. Oh, my Max. Max is absolutely magnificent. I was hooked on him immediately, from the moment he met Sara in the club I was a goner. Watching him fall, seeing him open up was just beautiful. He is absolutely, without a doubt, one of my all time favorite book boyfriends. I know I'll revisit him often.

The writing in this book is superb. I truly felt I was there with the characters-the pictures that were painted were that vivid. I wanted to go have a drink with these people after work, just go somewhere and talk with them. The pacing was perfect to me as well. This was one of those books I both wanted to savor and devour at the same time-and I wound up devouring it. I have no regrets on that. I look forward to exploring the rest of this series and Christina Lauren's work. I highly recommend this book.
