MELT FOR YOU BY J.T. GEISSINGER-BLOG TOUR

About MELT FOR YOU

A wallflower gets seduction tips from a playboy athlete—until love changes the rules.

Socially awkward Joellen Bixby has a date every Saturday—with her cat, a pint of ice cream, and fantasies of the way-too-handsome Michael Maddox. She’d give anything to win over the unattainable CEO of her firm, but how can she when she blends in so well with her cubicle? The answer may be closer than she thinks.

Cameron McGregor is a cocky, tattooed Scottish rugby captain who just moved in next door. He’s not Jo’s type—at all—but the notorious playboy is offering to teach the wallflower everything he knows about inspiring desire. Though a lot of women have rumpled Cam’s kilt, Jo is special. Far from the ugly duckling she thinks she is, in Cam’s eyes she’s sharp, funny, and effortlessly sexy. Now, thanks to him, Jo is blooming with confidence and has the man of her dreams within reach.

Unfortunately for Cam, he’s just helped to push the woman of his dreams into the arms of another man—and now he’s in the fight of his life to keep this beauty from getting away.

A few things caught my eye with this book and made me really want to give it a try. I loved the cover, the blurb made me smile and piqued my interest. I've enjoyed books by this author in the past so I knew I wanted to give this book a shot.

Joellen was not quite what I expected her to be. I understand that women doubt themselves far more than they should but I really wanted Joellen to realize her potential sooner. I sympathized with her and her thoughts, and could relate to them, but she had such potential for growth and I don't think she fully reached her potential here.

Cam is exactly what I expected. Sexy, confident and just what Joellen needs even if she doesn't realize it. He's a player, for sure, but he has redeeming qualities and he shows that as he helps Joellen. I would have liked to have been in his headspace for some of this book, to really get a handle on how he felt.

There is a connection between these two. Neither were looking for it, to be honest, and that's usually the best time for what you really need in life to appear. Now, they didn't come together as I thought they would. I won't spoil it, but it definitely took longer than I thought.

There were a few things I didn't *love* about the book. Our heroine is really hard on herself, and I wasn't quite expecting that. I also was surprised at how long her fascination with her boss continued. I did like the writing and the banter between Joellen and Cam. Overall, the book wasn't what I was thinking it would be but I did like it overall.

Marble isn’t the only thing that’s hard at this museum.

His body is as chiseled as Adonis. His lips are as sculpted as David. And his ego is the size of the Guggenheim.

You know the type—wolfish smile and the gravity of a black hole. The kind of man who sucks all the air from the room the second he enters it. My cocky boss thinks this internship was wasted on me, and he doesn’t hesitate to let me know.

But he’s wrong, and I’m going to prove it to him. If I can stay away from his devil lips, that is. Lips that cut me down and kiss me in the same breath, leaving me certain he’s on a mission to ruin my life.

And maybe my heart.

Sutton and David.

Finally.

And, yet, at the same time, we had to wait for their story. By this point in the series, or if you have read the synopsis, you know this book takes place a year after the death of Sutton's husband, Maverick.

So, there's a backstory and a history there. And it's present as part of the story. It's not ignored, it's not treated as something that didn't happen... and that makes it more appealing, more real, more heartbreaking and more emotional. In a good way, but also in a way that makes this one a very emotional read.

And, that cliffhanger. I saw it coming, sort of. But I loved it...I loved that the tension is external and also involving the family as, really, at the core of the story is the Wright family.

I enjoyed this title and I look forward to the conclusion.

The Wright One -- May 29th A new sexy contemporary romance duet from USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde… Secrets swarm all around. My world is crumbling under the strain. BREATHE BY CARLY PHILLIPS-BLOG TOUR

Breathe, an all-new second chance romance from Wall Street Journal and New York Times bestselling author Carly Phillips is LIVE!

Fall in love with the Wards…

From troubled teen to successful general contractor, Jake Nichols turned his life around from his time in foster care. Divorced and single, he juggles his time between his daughter and his work. Next on his agenda, a new project that is his chance to prove his worth at the job he loves. Except he never anticipates that the only girl he's ever loved and lost as a teen is now a grown and beautiful woman in charge of the project.

Phoebe Ward has survived and conquered a painful past that includes foster care and becoming a teenaged mom. She wants nothing more than to focus on the present but it’s hard when she looks into the eyes of her son, knowing she’s tried and failed to find his father. She’s resigned herself to raising him alone with the help of her family… Until a client meeting brings her face to face with her first love. A boy… now a sexy man she thought she’d never see again … and the father of her child.

So many years have gone by and both of their lives have changed drastically. Will they be able to put the past behind them and find the second chance they both deserve?

A Standalone Novel

I'm a fan of Carly Phillips writing and have been for years. The blurb of this book really caught my eye. I'm not a huge secret baby trope fan, but I do love second chance romance. So I dived in as soon as I could.

I really liked Phoebe. She had a tough start for sure, but once she found her place she flourished. I thought she was strong and smart. I like, and understood, her protective nature and I loved how she stands up for others. She's someone I could respect and like.

Jake was not quite what I expected-but I really liked him! He has a tough past as well, and honestly is just trying to hold it all together and balance everything now. Seeing Phoebe after all this time throws just another thing into his mix....but in a good way. I liked how he overcame his struggles and was his own man.

These two already had a history and I liked them finding their way back to one another. There wasn't the drama that you would expect there, and I liked that. They felt authentic and very realistic to me. They just worked.

There was a bit of drama involving another character, and I didn't feel that was necessary. It was a bit predictable and I just didn't love it. But otherwise, the writing was good and the pacing worked.

Carly Phillips continues to be an author that I truly enjoy. I know when I pick up her books I can escape the real world for a bit and just enjoy the story. Overall, I enjoyed this title and would recommend it.

Secret baby books usually have the issue of the anger, of the hidden baby, of the reasons that there was a hidden baby in the first place. I liked that this one didn't have that...Jake and Phoebe were together, the reason they were apart was out of their control, and there were additional forces acting to keep them apart...but, not of their doing.

This made it feel different, and engaging, and like a story about people who were getting a second chance at a relationship, after life had taken things from them, and then given them back different things.

The both have a past, they have things they are not proud of and things that they see as their successes, and watching 2 people who loved one another years ago work to put things back together was enjoyable. There were places where I wanted a little more depth, and places where I thought the solution was a little too simple.

I did enjoy this title overall.

“Are you my guardian?” she quipped, trying to keep things light as she tipped her head slightly, studying his tight, serious expression. “I want to be.” His voice was serious as hell. His tone rubbed her in the most intimate way, her body swaying toward him. “Jake.” He reached out a hand to cup her face, his calloused fingertips rough against her skin. So intense were his features, so erotic was his touch, his protectiveness cloaking her in heat. Her nipples even puckered into tight points of need. “If I had my way, nobody would be able to take advantage of you, because they’d have to go through me in order to get to you.” Her face warmed at his words. “That’s sweet of you to say.” “I’m not feeling very sweet. In fact, I’m feeling pretty damned protective.” He was, and she liked it. A lot. His fingers skimmed her cheek as he spoke. “I was lucky enough to find you again. I want a chance to see what could be between us,” he said, taking her off guard. But God, she wanted that, too. Despite her brain telling her they needed to tread carefully, that they had a little boy to protect, her traitorous heart still wanted more. His blue gaze bored into hers, causing her heart to pound hard in her chest. “I know things are complicated right now, but how many people get second chances?” “Not many,” she agreed, knowing how lucky they were. “So wouldn’t we be foolish to waste the opportunity?”

GOOD GIRL BY JANA ASTON - ARC REVIEW

I’ve always been a good girl.
I work hard, I follow the rules, and I always achieve my goals.

But sometimes good girls want things that aren’t good for them.
Or someone who isn’t good for them.
Like their new boss.

And sometimes they do very bad things to get his attention.
Like sell their virginity in an auction.

Who knew he’d be so very, very mad.

Maybe this was not my best laid plan…

Rhys and Lydia are hilarious.  Well, really, Lydia is hilarious.  The things she thinks, the things she says...and the reactions he gives her made me laugh...the entire way through the book.

Somehow, this is my first title by Jana Aston.  Nope, not sure how that happened, I am really not.  But, I am glad I finally read her.  This book was funny, it was charming, it was steamy and the sex, OMG the sex in this one...well, it's something else.

I laughed.  I related to the characters, I enjoyed them and the writing style enough to not want to put this one down and to be sad to see it end.

There's not a lot I can say about this book in this review, as the joy of this one really is in reading it, in being inside Lydia's head as she makes pajamas out of sheets and convinces you that maybe, just maybe, the iced coffee from Del Taco might actually be good.

I enjoyed the heck out of this one, and I recommend it.

He pulls me to my feet and he kisses me and he tastes like me and it's dirty and shocking and sorta oddly thrilling and primal. He unsnaps my bra. The straps slip down my arms until it falls to the floor and then I'm naked. I'm naked with Rhys. This is the best day of my life. Except he's not naked.

"You're still dressed. Am I supposed to"—I gesture to his shirt—"am I supposed to or are you supposed to? Or do you like to keep your clothes on when you have sex?"

He laughs, his eyes dancing in amusement as he unbuttons his shirt and shrugs it off. "No, I'm not going to fuck you with my clothes on, Lydia."

“Oh, thank goodness. I've really been wanting to see you naked. For a long time. Like weeks. Since the bar. The first time at the bar, not the second time. Can I take off your pants?" My fingers hover at his waistband, poised to unbutton and unzip but needing the nudge of permission.

"Please," he says and then my fingers are in motion, unbuckling, unbuttoning, unzipping. It's harder to do this in reverse, removing someone else's pants instead of your own, but I manage. I'd manage even if it was a thousand-piece puzzle instead of just a zipper and a button because I want his pants off pretty badly.

When I've got the pants undone they drop to the floor and then the only thing separating me from sex is a pair of briefs, so I make short work of those.

He's beautiful. Head to toe. I could spend all night looking at him, all month, forever. But I don't have forever or even all night since Rhys is worried about his schedule so I take in as much as I can as fast as I can. Because oh, holy crap, I know what Rhys Dalton looks like naked. The smattering of hair across his chest. His toned abs and flat stomach and the trail of hair from his belly button to his cock. The birthmark on his left hip and the definition of the lines that form on his abs. I send a silent prayer to baby Jesus that I'll get a good look at his butt before this is over because I need to know exactly what it looks like under those suit pants. Then too soon, he's moving me onto the bed because this is it. This is the sex.
