GET IT ON BY J. KENNER-RELEASE BLITZ

Get It On, the newest standalone in the Man of the Month Series by #1 New York Times bestselling author J. Kenner is LIVE!

Skillful hands. A talented tongue.

Meet Mr. May.

Fate’s been messing with veteran Tyree Johnson. It took his buddies in combat and his wife in a fatal car accident. But he’ll be damned if he’ll let Fate take his beloved bar, The Fix on Sixth.

For years, he’s avoided being Fate’s whipping boy through sheer force of will, and now every bit of his focus is centered on saving his business. Until, that is, the first woman who ever touched his heart walks back into his life—along with a daughter he never knew.

After years of loneliness, Tyree’s not prepared for the way Eva’s sensual curves and sharp wit still capture his heart and rekindle his senses. All he knows is that for the first time in forever, he’s found a passion other than his bar. But one final twist arrives when Fate pits the bar he can’t bear to lose against the woman who’s stolen his heart.

He’s a master at red-hot ecstasy.

**Get It On is part of a binge read series by New York Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Publishers Weekly, and #1 International bestselling author of the million copy Stark series, J. Kenner.

Get It On is the 5th book in the Man of the Month series from J. Kenner. I've enjoyed each of the books and look forward to each new installment. That held true for Get It On as well, as I was very interested in Tyree's story. Overall, I did enjoy the book.

Tyree and Eva have a past. Second chance romances are one of my favorite tropes so I was very excited to see how J. Kenner would put her spin on that. The circumstances in this book were unique to me as a reader and I enjoyed working through them with Eva and Tyree.

These two have a chemistry for sure, it's just a matter of them figuring out how to handle that. Tyree's struggle with that made my heart hurt but it worked. As I haven't been in his shoes, I can't understand how hard it must be for him but J. Kenner does a good job showing his struggle. Sometimes, I think it might have been a bit much, but again, that's just my opinion.

The writing was strong as always. The pacing was a bit off for me in spots-some areas were rushed and others took a bit too long for me. But overall enjoyed this installment in the Man of the Month series. I look forward to getting glimpses of Tyree and Eva in later books. I look forward to the next book in this series and would recommend this title.

The Man of the Month books by J. Kenner are shorter and are focused on the people who call The Fix on Sixth their home away from home, their bar, and their job.

Tyree owns the bar, and he has been a central character in each of the titles for the books as he is the one who got the bar into the financial mess that required the Man of the Month competition in the first place.

Eva and Tyree have a past. And a daughter. That he didn't know about. You find out, quickly, that there is a reason Eva didn't tell Tyree about his daughter, and it justifies that she didn't. While I am not sure I totally believed it, I was willing to suspend disbelief as this is a shorter story and the author didn't have the words to tell a story that had that as a conflict as well as the resolution.

I did enjoy this title overall, although I think I wanted a little more development with the characters. While these are shorter stories, I think his story, as it is so central, was one I wanted more of, and I was left feeling like I wanted more.

I do still recommend it, as Tyree is an important part of The Fix on Sixth and the Man of the Month series. I did enjoy it, and I am hopeful there will be a little more of his and Eva's story as the stories resolve and the series ends.

***

Two broken people in a city fueled by sin.

Maddie isn’t looking to be saved. She knows the only person you can count on is yourself. Her moral compass might not point true North these days—but at least she’s still standing.

The military taught Tyler about loyalty. Being there for your brothers is the only thing that matters—but when it mattered most, he wasn’t.

She’s got a ticket straight to Hell. He’s already been there and back.

She needs to win. He just needs to stop fighting.

Some sins scar your soul so deeply, you'll never be the same.

But this Devil in disguise might just be the angel he needs to forgive himself.

I need to start this by saying I'm not a fan of cliffhangers. At all. But the cliffhanger here worked-and the fact that the next book is out soon? Well that didn't hurt either. This book was a darker read than what I usually gravitate towards but I enjoyed it.

I liked Maddie and Tyler. These aren't people who I could easily relate to but they were characters I came to understand. I liked that they both were flawed, I honestly wanted to root for them to find SOMETHING good in their lives. To realize they were worthy of that goodness.

I love how these characters complement and balance one another. There is chemistry-and the sexy times are sexy, I'm not going to hold back on that-but there's more. There's a deeper connection than I think either of them were prepare for, or that either of them wanted.

I enjoyed the writing style here. Sometimes collaborations can be difficult and it's easy to spot where one author left off and another begins. That is certainly not the case here. The pacing of the book worked well for me as well. I know I mentioned this is a cliffhanger, but the books are coming out rather quickly so I'm ok with that. I want to know what happens next and look forward to the next book in the series. I recommend this title.

Trailer

TYLER

“Oh, shit!” I cry out.

He is not just entering me, or fucking me, or anything as common as that. He is penetrating me. In every sense of the word. I have never in my life—not once—cried during sex, but I can feel the tears starting to well up behind my eyes. And I have no earthly idea why.

He must be able to tell because he asks, “Am I hurting you?”

I shake my head, willing the tears not to fall. He withdraws from inside me.

“Where are you going?” I ask.

He stands up—he is an impressive sight. He looks like Michelangelo’s David. But if David had fought his way through some kind of battle and emerged from it painted by the fury of the fight.

“Come here,” he says as he reaches for my hand and draws me up to stand with him. Naked and exposed, we both look at each other in the warm light of this nearly empty apartment, with the frivolous concerns of the rest of the world carrying on beyond his massive windows, unaware that we are here. And I feel vulnerable.

I think he feels it too because now he takes me by the hand and leads me over to the kitchen area, which is a little darker, a little more hidden. When we land there, he picks me up around the waist and plops me onto his kitchen island. “Ah! It’s cold,” I let out.

“It’ll warm up in a second,” he says and winks. He opens a drawer and I glance down to note that inside there are only restaurant menus, some extra chopsticks still in their paper wrappers, and an assortment of condoms.

“We ordering in?” I ask. He ignores me and rips open the wrapper on one of the condoms.

“I want to be inside you when I come. Not that coming on your ass wasn’t one of life’s great joys, but, y’know, been there, done that.” He winks again. Fuck, he’s hot. Scraggly beard and all. Although I’m suddenly trying to imagine what it’d be like if he shaved. What the face that’s hiding under that mess of hair might look like.

But instead, I follow up my previous question with, “And you keep them in the kitchen because…?”

“I keep ’em everywhere,” he says, unrolling the latex and sliding it on his still-hard cock. “Never know when the delivery boy might be up for a little somethin’-somethin’.”

I rub my foot up the inside of his thigh. “Mmm. It gets a girl so hot when guys talk about fucking delivery boys.” He smiles. I get the sense that he gets off on it when I talk shit to him. Which is fine by me, because I love talking shit. So…

“Now fuck me like I’m the pizza guy,” I say.

There are a few moments in my life that have left me breathless—falling off a bull for the first time in competition, getting kicked by a bull, the day Mo broke my heart, and subsequently, the moment she stole every piece of it back.

This moment.

She’s an angel, brought to Earth for the soul purpose of torturing me, and like the devil I am, I enjoy every minute of it.

Pulling her hair over one shoulder, Mo peeks at me. Her cheeks are stained the most delicious color of red as she slowly, deliberately lifts her shirt over her head. The flimsy material falls to the ground as she reaches behind her back to unhook her bra. The straps slip down her arms before joining her shirt on the grassy bank of the pond, and when she shimmies out of her panties and jeans, I nearly lose it.

Her body is breathtaking, a work of art meant to be examined and explored, and I’m the lucky son of a bitch who gets the privilege of doing just that.

I’ve seen Mo naked more times than I can count, but not once has it been like this. Not once has she seduced me with the soft sway of her hips or this hungry look in her eyes.

She’s no longer the girl I knew all those years ago. She’s turned into a beautiful, confident woman who I want to lay before me again. She’s all-consuming: the rise and fall of her chest as she turns to face me, the goosebumps that scatter over her arms when my gaze traces her body, and the vulnerability in her eyes as she comes over to join me on the blanket.

I hold out my hand. Her fingers lace with mine as she straddles my legs and lowers herself to her knees.

Her hand, gentle and steady, cups the side of my face. “There might be six years of pain between us, but nothing has changed. I feel the same way today as I did back then.” She hooks her fingers under the hem of my shirt, dragging it over my head, being extra careful with my shoulder. “And I can’t wait another second to be with you, Rhett.” She smiles. “In fact, I need it more than I need my next breath.”

“Mo.” I push my fingers into her hair, pulling her face to mine, and I kiss her with everything I have. Her tongue pushes between my lips, and we kiss until we’re both panting and breathless.

With her forehead pressed to mine, she searches my eyes. I let her see everything—all the pain and love and happiness she’s brought me. With her hands on my chest, she gently pushes me back onto the blanket. Her hair falls forward, brushing against my chest, creating a curtain. She kisses me once, twice, and then a third time before scooting back. My boots and socks are the first to go, followed by my jeans.

ONLY YOU BY MELANIE HARLOW - RELEASE BLITZ

ONLY YOU RELEASE BLITZ BANNER.jpg

Nate Pearson is ridiculously handsome and wears the hell out of a suit and tie, but I’ve seen the parade of beautiful women leaving his apartment across the hall—a different one every time—and I want no part of it. When it comes to romance, I’m looking for something real, something that will last: the happily ever after.

As a divorce attorney, he loves to tell me there’s no such thing.

As a wedding planner, I choose to disagree.

We disagree on almost everything, in fact. Everything except James Bond. The only time we really get along is when we’re watching 007 flicks together, and I’ll admit—he has rescued me from a disaster or five. So when one of the baton twirlers from his parade leaves a baby girl at his door with a note that says “I’ll come back for her” and he begs me for help, I can’t turn him down.

But it’s a mistake.

Because watching him with his daughter, I start to see another side of Nate, a side that has my breath coming faster, my body craving his, my heart longing for him to change his mind about love and tell me there’s a chance for us.

I don’t want to be just another girl leaving his apartment in the morning.

I want to be the one he asks to stay.
