CHARMING HANNAH BY KRISTEN PROBY - BLOG TOUR

SBPR-Banner-CharmingHannah-BT-1.jpg

CharmingHanna_Amazon_WEBFrom New York Times Bestselling author, Kristen Proby, comes the first in an all-new trilogy in her beloved Big Sky Series!

Hannah Malone loves her new town. Despite living in Cunningham Falls for five years, she’s still considered a “move in” by most of the locals, and that doesn’t bother her in the least. She’s the “new girl”, and she hasn’t regretted it for one day. This town is her sanctuary. Her home. The one place she finally fits in and feels safe after a lifetime of being different and running from the memories and a past so far away it can’t haunt her anymore.

As the newly appointed police chief, Brad Hull has the responsibility to keep his citizens safe and to maintain order. His roots in this town are deep—five generations deep, to be exact. Cunningham Falls, Montana is his town, and being a cop and protecting what’s his is his passion. Everything’s running like clockwork until a sassy redheaded doctor moves in and disrupts the order—and Brad’s focus.

She’s not just beautiful, funny, and strong. Hannah’s everything he’s been looking for in a woman. The chemistry is undeniable, and the heat in the bedroom is off the charts. Brad knew the minute he met Hannah that she was the one for him. He’s tenacious in his pursuit of her. But when the past catches up with Hannah, will Brad be able to protect her and their hearts?

Kristen Proby is an author I know, when I pick up one of her titles, I am going to enjoy it.

This title was no exception.  I enjoyed the development of the relationship between Brad and Hannah, the supporting characters were present, but not overwhelming, which was nice...especially in the first in the series, as these tend to be distractingly heavy with secondary characters.  I liked that they were both allowed to be successful and that their careers were respected by both of them.

There's a strong feminist voice in a lot of Ms. Proby's writing, and this always appeals to me.  I love the idea that a strong, successful woman can also find love with a man who respects her.  So often, the drama books in which the woman is successful comes from her work clashing with her personal life.  And, yes, it happens in real life...but it is nice to read a title in which this is handled respectfully.

Hannah and Brad had chemistry, and appreciation for the career demands of the other, and respect.  It's hard not to be drawn into a book with all of these, and I was drawn into this one.

I enjoyed this title and I definitely recommend it.  I can't wait for the others in the series!

Blog Tour (11).jpg

Someone is ringing my fucking doorbell. I was at the hospital until the wee hours, I was finally in a deep, lovely sleep, and someone is ringing the bell.

All I know for sure is, this had better not be the damn door-to-door people trying to sell me a vacuum. Or a magazine. Or Jesus.

I wrap my robe around me, stumbling toward the door. I pull it open and am surprised to find an excited Sadie and a ridiculously sexy Brad standing at my door.

“Is that coffee?” I ask.

“For you,” he confirms and holds it out to me.

“Come to mama,” I mutter and take it from his hand, taking a grateful sip. Sadie brushes past my leg, into the house, and curls up on my couch.

“She’s not supposed to be on the furniture,” Brad says.

“My house, my rules,” I reply and take another sip of the one thing in this world I’m addicted to, and give him a once over from head to toe. “You look like you got about as much sleep as I did.”

“Rough night?” he asks without confirming or denying.

“Babies,” I reply with a shrug. “You?”

He just shrugs. “Are you going to ask me in?”

“Sure.” I back up and gesture him into the room. “Sorry, I was sleeping pretty good. My energy level is about equal to a sloth on Xanax.”

“I can leave and let you go back to bed.”

His eyes roam up and down my body, reminding me that I’m just in a robe and nothing else. His green eyes are hot, and every muscle in his body is tight.

Even sleep deprived, I can tell when a man is in the mood.

“You’ve brought me coffee. I’ll never kick you out when you’ve done that.”

“I’ll remember that,” he says with a chuckle.

“Besides, I have plenty of room.” I turn and walk into my bedroom, glancing behind me to see that he’s following me. He makes a hand gesture at Sadie, which I assume means stay. “We can take a nap,” I suggest.

His lips twitch, but he doesn’t say anything when he joins me next to the bed. He takes my coffee and sets both of our cups on the bedside table.

“Is that what you want, Hannah?” he murmurs and skims his fingertips down my arms.

“Eventually.”

Meet Kristen:

Kristen was born and raised in a small resort town in her beloved Montana. In her mid-twenties, she decided to stretch her wings and move to the Pacific Northwest, where she made her home for more than a dozen years.

During that time, Kristen wrote many romance novels and joined organizations such as RWA and other small writing groups. She spent countless hours in workshops, and more mornings than she can count up before the dawn so she could write before going to work. She submitted many manuscripts to agents and editors alike, but was always told no. In the summer of 2012, the self-publishing scene was new and thriving, and Kristen had one goal: to publish just one book. It was something she longed to cross off of her bucket list.

Not only did she publish one book, she’s since published close to thirty titles, many of which have hit the USA Today, New York Times and Wall Street Journal Bestsellers lists. She continues to self publish, best known for her With Me In Seattle and Boudreaux series, and is also proud to work with William Morrow, a division of HarperCollins, with the Fusion Series.

Kristen and her husband, John, make their home in her hometown of Whitefish, Montana with their two pugs and two cats.

ONE LAST TIME BY CORINNE MICHAELS - BLOG TOUR

2018-SBPRBANNER-OLT-BT.jpg

OLT_FrontCover
From New York Times bestselling author, Corinne Michaels, comes a new heartwarming standalone romance.

I’m getting really good at cutting my losses.

First, the husband. Divorcing him was the best decision I ever made. But between single-parenting and job-hunting, I can’t catch my breath. When a celebrity blogging position falls into my lap, I’m determined to succeed.

That is, until I get my first assignment and actually see Noah Frazier for the first time . . . practically naked and dripping wet. My heart races and I forget how to form complete sentences. His chiseled abs, irresistible smirk, and crystal blue eyes are too perfect to be real. So, what do I do? Get drunk and humiliate myself, of course.

I’m ready to forget the awkward night, yet Noah has no intention of allowing me to move on. Instead, he arranges for me to write a feature on him, ensuring a lot more time together. One embarrassing moment after another, one kiss after another, and before I can stop myself, I realize—I’m falling in love with him.

But when the unthinkable happens, can I even blame him for cutting his losses?

What I wouldn’t give for just one last time . . .

This is a book full of smaller, harder to see, moments. Now, so we are all on the same page...a conversation with a friend, a moment when you take back a part of you that has been given to someone else, the acceptance of a child, the daily victories...these are the harder to see moments. The new job, the new house, the new relationship...those are the ones that are easier to catch. And, this is the beauty of this book.

Yes, there are some big ones, the chances to swoon. But, like life, this book is built on the small ones. The moments where you take back some thing that might have been briefly missing. And, these are the moments that matter at the end of the day...sometimes even more so than the ones that are so big you can't miss them.

But for me, it was the little ones. The shoulder of a friend. The right words at the right time. The support to close a door, literally. The smile of a child. The realization that what you want is in your reach. The realization that, finally, what someone else wants is also what you want, and that moment where you let them know.

This book builds on those little moments to get you to the big ones. Yes, I get it, you are thinking these are the big moments. But they aren't. They are the little ones, the daily win, the support of a friend in just the right moment, that let you get the courage and the strength for the big moments. The times when you forgive a person and let them back into your heart. The times you finally say yes. The times you take the risk because it's worth the reward.

Noah, from the minute he sees Kristin, knows there's something about her. Something different that draws him to her in a way he hasn't felt in a long time. Despite the warnings of their mutual friends that she is not ready for a relationship, or even to date, he decides he wants to pursue her.

Kristin was in a marriage that as bad. Bit as is often the case when you are in a situation like that, she doesn't really see it. And, when she does, she excuses it. I think, to a degree, we all do this. Until we don't anymore.

This is the story of Noah, finally finding what he has been looking for, and Kristin, finally seeing that what she thought she had wasn't real. It's the moment when you realize the man who couldn't possibly be interested is the man who wants to spend the rest of his life with you.

And, most important, for both Noah and Kristin, this book is about the moment when you realize that the person you are with is the one who loves you, who won't hurt you even if they are mad.

The journey is wonderful. This book is a joy to read. I recommend this title.

Excerpt:

Before I can make a move either way, the glass door slides open and Noah walks through the threshold.

My legs start to quiver as his eyes meet mine. All I can think about is how I’d like to climb him like a tree and shake his coconuts. I thought he was hot in the photo, then he was better through the window, but up close, he’s otherworldly.

“Hi.” Noah’s throaty voice floats around me. “You must be Kristin.”

Instead of speaking, I stand here with my mouth hanging open. Some small sounds that could be words escape, but they aren’t coherent.

Kill me now.

“Noah, this is my best friend, Kristin. Who we told you about.” Heather elbows me.

“Yes. Me. Hi. Kristin. I. You. Hi.”

Smooth. Someone should video this because I’m sure it’s highly entertaining.

“Right.” Noah flashes a blinding smile. “I hear you’re a reporter?”

Okay, Kristin, you have to speak in more than one-word increments or grunting noises.

I grab Heather’s glass she just poured and hope it’ll act as a talisman. “Yes, for a small blog, but I’m that. A reporter. For a blog. I write.”

And a bumbling idiot.

Noah’s green eyes are filled with humor. He moves a little closer and places his hand on top of mine. “Eli filled me in a little. I’m happy I came.”

I’m pretty sure I just came. At least we’re all coming.

“Me, too.”

His lips turn up as his eyes rake my body. “See you out there.” He winks and walks back out.

My ovaries have officially disintegrated.

I turn back to Heather, who bursts out into a fit of laughter. “Oh, that was epic. You all said I was starstruck when I met Eli? You should’ve seen that!” Heather continues to laugh at my expense. “Yes. Me. Um. Blog. Er—” She mocks.

“Shut up.” I laugh—because, really, what else can I do—and bump her hip before moving around the bar and grabbing a glass. “Now, pour me a shot before I drink straight from the bottle.”

There’s only one way to get through tonight.

Alcohol.

Lots of Alcohol.

BREAK THE ICE BY PIPER RAYNE-BLOG TOUR

Break the Ice, an all-new standalone and the conclusion to the hilarious Bedroom Games series from bestselling authors Piper Rayne is LIVE!

The Winter Games are over, but the bedroom games are just beginning…

This is about the time I normally hang up my snowboard and chill for a while. Except this year. This year, I’m dealing with what fate dealt me at the Winter Games—nope, not gold. A broken leg.

Since I’m not close to my family, I head to my best friend, Skylar’s pad to recoup. Turns out having your gorgeous, single, sexy friend wait on you hand and foot can blur the lines between friendship and romance.

Which is exactly why I’ve decided to help her find a boyfriend.

Yeah, you heard me right. I’m going to help her comb through every dating app available until she finds the perfect man. What else could remind me of my place in her life more than watching her fall for someone else?

I can deal. I’m used to pushing through pain. I’m an Olympian after all.

Break The Ice is the third in Piper Rayne's Bedroom Games series but it can be enjoyed as a standalone. As a fan of friends to lovers (it's one of my favorite tropes) I was looking forward to this book. This was a fun read, with a bit more emotion than I expected, but enjoyed.

I'm going to say that I loved the relationship between Skylar and Beckett right from the start. It's tricky, I think, at times to write a friends to lovers storyline that works. But this one does. The connection between these two is strong and makes sense. Everyone around them can see it so it was fun watching them discover how their relationship could truly be.

I will say that Beckett's history made my heart hurt. No worries, Skylar healed him and in turn healed me, but I wasn't expecting the punch I got from Beckett's storyline. I liked seeing him grow through it though and I championed him all the way.

I enjoy Piper Rayne's writing style. This book was my favorite out of the series. It wraps up the series well, but again, it can be enjoyed as a standalone. It had all the elements I've come to expect from these two authors-humor, heart and heat, but it had just a little extra something that I truly enjoyed. I would recommend this title.

“Sky.” I follow her down the hall and up the stairs. “You need...” I swallow down the bile burning my throat. She turns around when she reaches her childhood bedroom door. The same room that has pictures of Ben on her corkboard from some dance way back when. The room that holds all her memories of a happy childhood filled with fun, laughter and love. Doesn’t she realize, she has so much? “What?” “You need a date.” Did that really just come out of my mouth? “A date?” I grab her hand and take her into my room, which is really her brother’s childhood room, and sit her down on the bed. “Yeah, give me your phone.” She digs it out of her pocket and places it in my palm. I search the app store and select a dating app. “GeekMatch?” “Yep.” “What about the more traditional ones?” she asks, leaning over to look at my phone. Her hair tickles my neck, and the scent of her perfume makes my dick twitch in my pants. “You need a beta, remember?” “Hmm.” I go through her selfies and select one that doesn’t show how truly gorgeous she is. It’s hard to find one though because Skylar doesn’t have any bad pictures. “I’m not sure about this, Beck.” I fill out her form for her while she remains silent. Once I’m done, I hand it back over to her and she stares at the screen for a long time. Our thighs are pressed against one another and I’m fairly sure the electricity running through my body is buzzing through hers, but her gaze is still glued to her phone. “Okay,” she says, still sounding reluctant. “Perfect. Now, Terminator.” She smiles and her lips brush my cheek. “Sorry, for being so needy.” “It’s the hazard of having girl friends, I suppose.” “Friends?” “Friend,” I clarify, standing up before my hands and lips listen to the instructions from my dick. “You’ll help me pick someone out?” she asks. “Of course.” She walks out of my room, her gaze glued to her phone. I follow with my gaze glued to her ass.

FORGETTING YOU, REMEMBERING ME BY MONICA JAMES - RELEASE BLITZ AND ARC REVIEW

The stunning conclusion to this epic love story that began with Forgetting You, Forgetting Me from International Bestselling author, Monica James.

The truth sets you free...but what happens when everything you believe in changes in the blink of an eye?

All I ever wanted was for my fiancé, Samuel Stone, to remember me. And now that he does...all I want is for him to forget. Through tragedy, I found myself and who I was destined to become. But more importantly, I found who I was destined to be with.

With a single word, Saxon Stone changed my life forever. He taught me how to live again. But now that Samuel remembers and all secrets have been revealed, I’m left to wonder which life I’m meant to lead.

Divided by my head and my heart, I’m torn between duty and desire. Samuel is my past while Saxon is my forever. The choice should be easy.

But love never is…

2018 seems to be the year of books that make me cry.

This one made me cry. Happy tears, sad tears, relieved tears. All. The. Tears.

And, this one sneaks up on you. It picks up right where the first one left off (here is where I mention this is not a standalone, so if you haven't read the first one, you need to start there) and I liked that there was no time gap. A lot happened to Sam, Saxon and Lucy at the end of the first book, and knowing where they go from here, and how they make their choices, matters. A lot.

What do I mean by sneaking up on you? Well, I know going into this one, I had a pretty good idea how I thought it was going to play out. Nope. I also thought I knew how and why Lucy was going to make her choice. Nope. I was, however, right about the relationships and how they were going to work out...until Ms. James threw a bit of a wrench into that.

There's not much that is more fun, as a reader, than going on a ride through a story that is, and also isn't what you expected. There were some things I was right about. Others that I was not even close. And, I loved that the author managed to keep me on my toes while still staying true to the characters.

The character development in this title is perfect. The people Sam, Saxon and Lucy are at the beginning are not the same as they are at the end. Well, at their core they are, but the situations they go through, and the things they experience, change who they are. Profoundly. And, by the end, there are stories that are finished and there are also characters who you feel so differently about that you find yourself wanting their entire story to be told.

Sam is a tough character to get to like. The Sam in this book starts out pretty much as the guy he was in the first one, minus the amnesia. Yes, you like him a little more when he remembers Lucy.
But, not much as, here't the thing...he is still the guy you find out about at the end of the first book, so there is a little bit of the shiny great guy finish missing from the Sam in this title.

Saxon is a lot more developed in this title, as he is the one Lucy gravitates to, as you see in the end of book one...so there is a draw there and it is something that needs to be explored. In order for them to all find their happily ever after, there is a lot of work that needs to happen as they sort out what is real and what isn't. As they learn what is a lie and what is the truth.

Lucy is the heart, and the strength of the book. She is the woman Sam and Saxon both want, and both love. And, she is the woman in love, in different ways, with each of them. But, she figures it out...and in a way that never makes her seem wishy-washy or like she can't make up her own mind. No, she is a strong and human character in a tough situation with compelling reasons to make more than one choice. And, none of her choices are simple.

This book, at it's core, is about life. It;s about how you know when it is, and isn't, time to move on from a relationship. It's about the choices you make to allow people to matter, and how much you allow them to matter. It's about the past, the present and the future. It's about how much you allow the past to color the present and shape the future. It's about learning how to tell the things that matter from those things you cling to because you are afraid of letting them go.

And, most of all, it's about figuring out who you are, in the past, the present, and who you will be in the future.

Make sure you have tissues, wine, and plenty of time to read. You are not going to be able to put this one down.

I recommend this title.

“I’m going to take off the blindfold,” he whispers into my ear. I pause in my tracks, eagerly awaiting the view.
No surprise as Saxon draws out the reveal, torturing me further. I bounce from foot to foot. His husky chuckle tickles me from the inside out. “I thought you didn’t like surprises.”
“I don’t, but maybe you’ll change my mind.”
“Maybe,” he covertly replies before removing the soft fabric over my eyes.
It takes me a moment to adjust to the dim lighting, but after blinking a few times, what I see takes my breath away. “Saxon…oh my god. It’s beautiful.” And it really is.
“You like it?”
“Like it? I love it.” My feet act of their own accord as I float down the steps and spread my arms out wide. My fingertips brush over hundreds of sunflowers arranged in endless tall glass vases as I walk my yard. “When did you do this?”
“Today. You looked like you could do with some color in your day.”
I pause in the middle of my backyard, needing a moment to take it all in. A red and white picnic blanket lays just a few feet away, and to the left is a wicker basket. Bouquets of sunflowers are dotted as far as the eye can see, adding bursts of vibrancy and instantly lightening my mood.
When I turn over my shoulder, the fairy lights fashioned as stars dangle from the porch railings and rafters. They add to this most picturesque scene. However, when I focus on Saxon leaning against a wooden pillar with a lopsided smirk tugging at his full lips, I know he is the picture of perfection.
“I can’t believe you did this. Is this why you’ve been scarce all day? I was starting to think I smelled.”
He laughs, pushing off the post. “You smell amazing. Hungry?” My growling stomach answers for me.
I watch as Saxon saunters down the stairs, takes my hand, and leads us to the blanket. The gentle hue of the lights wraps us in our own private romantic bubble. I fold my legs beneath me as I sit, running my fingers along the sunflower petals next to me. I can’t help but reminisce about the first time I saw these flowers with Saxon—I was on the back of his bike as he saved me from yet another bad day.
Saxon kneels, reaching into the basket. It’s not until now that I realize how hungry I am. Glued to the computer all day, I’ve forgotten to eat or move. This is so thoughtful. So Saxon. “I hope you didn’t go to too much trouble. Well, clearly you did—” I sweep my hand toward the beauty in front of me “—but I hope you weren’t slaving over a hot stove all day.”
He gives me a playful grin, and I discover why when he exposes what’s inside the basket. “Oh my god.” I laugh. “Just when I thought I couldn’t love you any more, you go and do this.” And by this, I mean when he produces an enormous paper bag filled with only the best Mexican in all of Montana. However, the crème de la crème is when he adds a bottle of Dr. Pepper to the mix. “You know the way to my heart.”
“Or stomach,” he quips, passing me the bottle. “Here is your seven-layer burrito, extra onions.” He hands over my mountain of goodness with a grin.
“What did I do to deserve this?” And I’m not only talking about the food.
“Just being you,” he replies, kissing the end of my nose. My heart swells. He spreads his long legs out in front of him, sipping a beer. “How’s work?”
I sigh, unwrapping my burrito. “Not great. I know there will always be conflict in the world, but it just seems that lately no one is getting along.”
Saxon moves his lips from side to side, appearing to be in thought. “I’m glad we are, though.”
Afraid of choking, I chew slowly, needing a minute to process what he just said. “Me too.” Something is bugging him. It’s written all over his face. “About this morning—”
He cuts me off. “It’s okay, Lucy. I just…need to get over this irrational jealousy when it comes to you. I know you love me, but it’s just difficult sometimes.”
“I completely understand.” I reach for his hand, intertwining our fingers. “I’m glad you know that I love you. Because I do. We’re all trying our best to deal with this pretty messed-up situation. Personally, I think we’re doing great.”
He nods, my words appearing to appease him. But something is still stirring behind his eyes. Just when I’m about to ask what’s going on, his phone rings—again. He digs into his pocket, the ‘something’ amplifying tenfold.
“I won’t be a minute.” He stands quickly and walks briskly away, out of earshot.
Sighing, my appetite gets shot to hell, and I place my barely touched burrito back into the paper bag. I watch for any signs of what the secret conversation Saxon is having entails. But he turns his back as if sensing my inquisitive stare.
I hate this unsettled feeling in the pit of my stomach. The light at the end of the tunnel with Sam is shining dimly, but it’s suddenly overshadowed with whatever Saxon is hiding. He turns over his shoulder, meeting my eyes, before heading toward the house, which just makes me feel worse.
Unable to sit still, I stand, feeling constraints tug at my heart. Needing to escape, I take flight to the stables. Memories of when I felt similar to how I do now cloud my mind, and I do the only thing that has cleared my head since I learned to ride.
Potter, my horse, neighs when he sees me, sensing my desperation. Without thought, I put on his bridle, then I mount him, bareback, and squeeze my calves around his muscular barrel. I cluck my tongue twice, sending him into a gallop. He knows what I need. We both relish in the need to be free.
Clutching the reins, I lean forward and take a deep breath when he tears out of the stables, nothing but the open vastness greeting us. I work on autopilot as I lead him toward the mountains. We have been here before, and the memories linger on my tongue just as if they were crafted yesterday.
The wind whips through my hair, instantly easing some of the tension within. The terrain is bumpy, but we’ve both learned from experience to navigate this ground with caution. “Easy, boy,” I coo, tugging lightly to slow him down. He does.
I examine my surroundings, the untouched openness giving me the peace I need. We settle to a trot, and although I’ve lived here for years, I still am in awe of how picturesque everything is. But the prettiest thing of all is when my gaze alights on where Saxon and I shared our first kiss. This spot has been imprinted on my mind.
Fingering my lips, I recall the tenderness and uncertainty of his touch. I was so naïve to think that kiss wouldn’t change my life as I knew it. It not only changed my life, but it changed me too. Saxon has shaken up my world, but I would happily dance in the chaos because when I’m with him, I’ve never felt more alive.
Dismounting Potter, I tie him to a tree where he happily munches on the grass. So different from when we were here last. My bare feet sink into the terrain, and I savor the feel of being in touch with mother nature in the purest form.
Wrapping my arms around my middle, I close my eyes and return to the past. I can remember his words as if spoken only yesterday.
“Let’s pretend tomorrow doesn’t exist. Whatever happens now, it’ll just be memories from yesterday.” I could feel the tremble rumble throughout his entire body.
A quiver bubbles to the surface, and I hum. Saxon’s love for me has never wavered. I was just too blind to see. But my eyes, figuratively speaking, are opened now, and I’ll be damned if anything stands in the way of our happily ever after.
“What are you doing out here?” His voice is silk, encasing me in a velvety sphere.
“You kissed me here. Right in this spot. Do you remember?”
“Of course, I do,” he whispers, the nostalgia tethering us together.
With eyes still closed, I tip my face toward the heavens and take a deep breath. “We were fated from that moment forward.”
“We were fated a long time before then.” And he’s right. The first moment we met, touched, my world changed forever. “Is everything all right? You just took off.”
Sighing, I decide no more second-guessing. “Who were you talking to?”
“Just…”
“And don’t tell me just work.”
Silence.
“You’re not telling me something, and I can’t help but feel you’re not telling me this because your secret will change everything.”
I’m hoping he will brush away my insecurities and tell me I’m overreacting, but when he does neither, a sense of dread settles low within my stomach. Unable to stand this a second longer, I open my eyes and turn to face him. The cloud of guilt hangs over his head as he peers down at his scuffed motorcycle boots.
“Just tell me what it is. This is your free pass. Whatever it is, I will deal with it. But please, don’t lie to me or hide the truth because we’ve had enough deceit to last us a lifetime.”
He mulls over my proposition, which has me wondering what exactly he’s done. A cold sweat suddenly coats my skin, and I swallow. “Oh god, Saxon, what’s going on?”
“Nothing, Lucy, nothing. I promise.” I’m in his arms a moment later as he hugs me with all his might. “Everything is all right. Everything will be fine.” I didn’t realize things weren’t already fine.
Breaking our embrace, I shake my head, adamant to find out the truth. “I don’t believe you.” Nothing but regret rolls off him as his shoulders drop. I can’t stand this. I don’t know why, but my gut tells me this involves Cleo. I knew she was trouble from the first moment we met, but I never thought she’d have the power to drive a wedge between us. “Does this have anything to do with… Cleo?” His jaw clenches.
I’m waiting for him to put my mind at ease, but he doesn’t. He simply stands mute, hands dug deep into his pockets. I feel sick. “Saxon, answer me. What…what did you do?”
He hisses, taking a step back. “I didn’t do anything.”
“Then tell me what the hell is going on.”
“Why would you automatically assume Cleo is involved?”
“Because whoever you’re speaking to, you clearly don’t want me to know who it is. So unless you have another girl on the side…”
Another girl?” he spits, angered. “I don’t have any girls but you, Lucy.”
“Then tell me what’s going on!”
An exasperated breath leaves him as he begins to pace. This place once filled with happy memories is now tainted with secrets and doubt. I give him the time he clearly needs because he’ll just clam up if I continue to push.
“Yes, I need to tell you something, but…” He comes to a stop, running both hands through his snarled hair. “But I know when I do, you’ll…” The sentence remains unfinished because the ringing of Saxon’s cell cements my fate for good.

CharmingHanna_Amazon_WEB.jpgFrom New York Times Bestselling author, Kristen Proby, comes the first in an all-new trilogy in her beloved Big Sky Series!
