He's my most delicious secret.
The hot Suit I had a one-night stand with one evening.
I didn't know anything about him, not even his name.
Only that we shared a taxi, and he was staying at the hotel where I worked.
We met in room 301. Where he commanded not only my body but my soul.
The next day he was gone and I only had a memory of him.
I could still taste his kisses, feel his demanding touch.
I searched for him for months. Daydreaming about him. Wondering if I'd ever find him.
Until the day I find myself staring face to face with his jeweled black eyes again.
He says lets keep it casual, and my heart knows that falling for this workaholic in a three-thousand-dollar suit is off the table.
Because he has a secret. One that's a deal breaker for me.
My Suit has a name.
Ian Ford.
And this is our story.
This was different than I was expecting. From the blurb, I was thinking I would get a certain story, and I ended up getting one that was different than I had envisioned it would be. But, in a good way. The blurb is true to the events, it's just not all of them, and it doesn't give away the direction the story takes.
Sara is Bryn's roomamte, and we met Bryn in Tycoon. Oddly, I didn't really like Bryn, or Tycoon, all that much. But, I usually enjoy Katy Evans, so I was looking forward to this one. The blurb drew me in, the idea of the illicit affair with a man who is known only by his room number. And, this is handled well...the instant attraction and want comes through, even as the author lets you know that both of them are aware there is more there than the chemistry necessary for a hot tryst.
Ian is complex, and he has his reasons for wanting to keep Sara on the sidelines and to not invest in the relationship that is unintentionally starting between them. Telling what those are would be spoilers, but I liked the element it added to the story, both with making this just a little forbidden, but also adding a little conflict to the story.
I believed the characters in this story, and I thought the plot and the pacing were both believable, which is actually where I had some issue with the previous book in the series. The events of this one happen at the same time as the events in Tycoon, and it is not necessary to have read Tycoon to enjoy this title.
I enjoyed this title overall and I recommend it.
