I liked them together as a couple, and I enjoyed the development of their romance and connection. I liked how far he was willing to go to protect her, and to let her know that he was going to keep her safe. I enjoyed not only the development of their relationship, but also the development of them as characters. I felt like I got to know and connect with both of them, which always makes a romance more enjoyable.
I did think there was potentially a little too much time involved in what felt like side stories, and it did make me feel in places that the focus was pulled from the main story, but not enough to ruin the book for me.
