This story grabs you from the beginning and, oddly, even though it is in the blurb, you kind of forget the direction it is going at the beginning (at least I did) and it makes this story shock you from the opening chapter.
Samantha and Blake were great together. You really like both of them, and you respect Blake. The idea that he was attracted to her the entire time they were partners (which you get a glimpse of in the short novella at the end) but too honorable to act on the attraction made their story really compelling...especially onceyou realize Samantha feels the same way.
The serial killer plot was interesting. I liked that you know pretty much who it is and what is going on. The suspense is catching him, the pursuit, the twists and turns of the story and the mix of the suspense with the romance of Samantha and Blake.
Cynthia Eden is a favorite of mine for her ability to write a well crafted and well balanced romantic suspense. And, when romantic suspense is well balanced, they are some of my favorites. I enjoyed this, the romance aspects and the suspense as well.
I recommend this book.
