But, the real fun of this book is when they each realize that maybe, just maybe, the cone of silence isn't something that they want, that just maybe there is more to this beginning of a relationship than either of them wanted to admit. It's that moment where you realize that you have what you wanted, what you were afraid to want, and what you gave yourself under the cover of something else, so you were not obligated to admit it in the light of day.
This book is funny, it's light in places. But it is also serious when it needs to be, and you genuinely start to like both Rafe and Carrie, and you want them to work out because, well, they are absolutely perfect for one another. The writing is strong, and it maintains the balance of the light, and the funny, with the more serious aspects of the story, without making the humor seem out of place, which can be a tough thing to balance.
I liked the pacing of the story, I believed the build up of the sexual attraction, and I really liked the way Rafe was aware of Carrie as a person, and aware enough of Carrie's feelings enough to know that something wasn't the best idea. This scene, without spoilers, was not a huge deal, but it the reader a glimpse into who Rafe is, and it let you really believe his interest in Carrie was genuine, before he even admitted it to himself.
I enjoyed this book, and I recommend it.
