I enjoyed this title overall. I liked Ivy and Becket, and I enjoyed their relationship...although I did get a little annoyed at how often she pushed him away and how many "you can't and shouldn't avoid relationships" conversations she had with the people in her life.

I also struggled with the "grand gesture" at the end. Yes, some books do require this, and I do agree this one did. But, part of the balance of having a hero in the book being in sports at the elite level is that they take the job seriously. So, for me, the grand gesture didn't seem realistic.

I did enjoy the story overall, and I liked getting to know Ivy and Becket. It was enjoyable to watch her and Becket figure out a way to have a relationship that worked for each of them. I enjoyed the little touches, the dog, the text relationship, the friend hiring Ivy's company to break up with the woman he was dating.

I do recommend this title.

I struggled with this book at the beginning. By the end, I enjoyed it and I was glad I read it, but it took a little bit for me to get there.

I get it. Callie and Reid don't like one another. Trust me, I got that. The issue, at least for me, was as the story progressed and the reader was given reasons for the dislike of Callie (or Reid, depending on the POV) I found myself struggling to like them.

That is, I think, the difficult balance of an enemies to lovers. You, as the reader, have to be able to understand both why they characters dislike one another, and be on board when they make the transition from dislike to the relationship.

Once I got to the part where they were together, this story picked up and I liked it. Although there was a bit at the end where I found myself a little frustrated with Reid and wanting to see him pick a different option than the one he did.

I thought the writing was strong, and the 2 authors blended well together to create a story that was seamless and didn't have areas where you could tell that it was being written by a different person.

Overall, I did enjoy this title. The dislike of the characters toward one another was authentic, and I believed the relationship once it got going. The secondary characters were interesting and I thought they added to the overall story.

I recommend this title.

The only problem? He loves me…KNOT. 



I liked a lot of this book, and there were places where I really enjoyed it. I thought Knox was interesting, and I liked him. I loved his relationship with the people around him, and I liked the relationship he had with Emma Jane, even the parts of it that were motivated by the hurt from the past. I found them to be real and not overly melodramatic, which can happen with a second chance where it is set up around a misunderstanding.

The story is set out around a misunderstanding, which is pretty clear from the way the retelling of the story is structured, with both Knox and Emma Jane saying that (but not to one another) that they were still heart broken about the end of the relationship and hurt by the other person.

This is where the book fell apart a little for me. I liked them, I liked their chemistry and I liked the second chance. But, as often happens, it was a misunderstanding that would have been easily resolved with about 7 seconds of conversation. And, it was one that while I believe would be possible as young adults, I had a hard time believing that it would endure as long as it did and that neither of them would approach the subject.

I know that often misunderstandings and a failure to talk about them, result in the couple splitting up. But, I think for me, the reason for the split was shaky at best...and the reason for them not to talk about it through the whole book also didn't totally work for me.

I do recommend this title, as I did enjoy it, but I wanted a little more for the reason for the split...or a quicker resolution of the misunderstanding, for the book to totally work for me.
