I can't lie. I wasn't ready to give up the Adairs and the Scottish Highlands so I was thrilled to get ahold of this title, set in the same world with characters from the previous books making an appearance.

This title is a standalone and while you don't need to have read the Adair titles I definitely recommend them, but that's not the point of this review.

Walker and Sloane are attracted to one another from their first meeting, something that Walker resists until Sloane suggests a no strings fling.

Well, by the time this is suggested, the reader has gotten to know Walker and Soane so it's clear they are destined for one another and there's no way this isn't going to become something more.

And wow does it. Their connection and seeing Walker as he starts to fall for Sloane (even before he admits how he feels to himself) was fantastic. I love a strong hero who knows what he wants work through the reasons he doesn't feel he deserves it.

While not.a focus of the story, I also really loved that Walker has a therapist. There's nothing sexier than a strong man who knows that he can be strong and vulnerable.

Add in a few suspenseful elements and it's a story that's a great read and an amazing beginning to a new series.

I enjoyed and recommend this title.
