The resolution of the betting portion of the story wasn't a total surprise, but it still packed a punch, I think because by that point, I cared about the characters enough that I was invested in that part of the story as well.
Cole and Dublin worked for me as characters separate from them as a couple, which also added a depth to this that I enjoyed, as you feel like you got to know who they each were, and watch as who they were was tested by the relationship, but you also got to know them as people.
I can't wait for the next in this series.
