I struggled with this one a little in the beginning, before the romance became the focus. I definitely believed in the friendship between Sterling and Alyssa, but the change to lovers, while hinted at, also felt abrupt to me, like too much of the book was focused on building up the friendship to make the reader really understand how close they were.
I think I wanted less of the friendship and more of the romance.
Now this is where the story I want and the story the author wanted to tell, and why I am giving it 3 stars...it still worked. I still liked the characters, and I believed in their relationship and wanting less of the friendship and more of the romance was all me...and it was not the story the author wanted to tell.
That said, I did enjoy the title, and I do recommend it.
