My name is Ryan Sheppard and I don’t care about Christmas. I’m only returning to my over-the-top Christmas-themed hometown to sell the house I inherited from my late uncle so I can get back to the city and the promotion I’m chasing at work.
Unfortunately, there’s a flaw in my plan.
Because according to the town Christmas cop, there’s a moratorium on selling houses during December. She says it’s bad for the aesthetic. She’s also slapping an alarming number of tickets on my front door. For being in violation of holiday décor. And I swear on Rudolph himself, one is for ‘unsportsmanlike Christmassing.’
To top it all off, this Christmas cop looks like a red-headed elf.
A sexy red-headed elf…
Well, if you are expecting a holiday story (and you should be) then you are going to love what you get from Maggie and Ryan's story.
He's a Grinch...sort of. And, she is one of the people (elves?) in charge of making sure all of the houses in town follow the Reindeer Falls rules regarding Christmas decorations. She is also in charge of issuing citations to those who don't comply.
Because, of course she is. Because this is Reindeer Falls and this is book 4 of the series of the same name by Jana Aston.
I can't lie, while not a Grinch, I am not the biggest fan of holiday themed books...however, these books are so well written, and so funny, and blend in the holiday so seamlessly that Christmas feels like one of the characters in the story, I can't help but really enjoy them.
You don't need to have read the first 3 as they are standalone...but, you are going to want to if you haven't.
I enjoyed and recommend this title.
