And now I kind of like the idea of our new neighbor staying. But small-town life isn’t for the weak—time will tell if she has what it takes to be one of us.

That said, as often happens in the first book when it's planned as a larger series about interconnected characters, a lot of time was spent getting to know everyone, and that pulled some of the time for Cade and Presley to really have their full story.
It did still work, and there was enough of them as a couple for me to believe in them, but it also left me wanting more of them, and more of them as a couple...so I think at least for this reader, the balance of the story was a little off.
I do still recommend this title, and I did enjoy it.
