Damn it, I cried.

More than once.

I cried for Jacob and Brenna, for the kids, for the relationship they build as they become a family, I cried at a part in the middle I won't spoil for you, and damn it I cried that this entire series is over and I am not ready for that to be true.

Isn't there a 5th brother we don't know about?

Anyway. This book was perfection and I think it was my favorite of all of them. Partly because Jacob is my favorite and partly, I think, because when you get to this story, you know the stories of all of the other couples, so you feel like you are an honorary Arrowood and that you are reading about your own family and friends.

This makes the book even more compelling, it makes it mean that much more, and it makes you even sadder when it's over.

You don't have to read the other titles in the series to read and enjoy this one (although, seriously, why wouldn't you???) and to me that is one of the strengths of Michaels as an author. She writes interconnected standalones that actually CAN standalone but also manages to make them even stronger for knowing all of the other stories.

It's a talent and it brings us books like this one.
