Down Too Deep by J. Daniels-Review Blast

Two single parents and three adorable kids are about to have a summer they'll never forget in this sexy, heartwarming new novel of the New York Times bestselling series.

Following the sudden death of his wife, Nathan Bell spent nearly two years burying himself in work and neglecting his biggest responsibility: his daughter. Overcome with guilt, he wants to connect with little Marley, but he doesn't know how to do it alone. And then Jenna Savage throws him a lifeline.

A single mom of twins, Jenna is more than capable of taking care of Nathan's adorable two-year-old and wants to help Nathan however she can. As the days go by and her attraction to Nathan grows, she can't help wondering what might happen if they became a family for real. And the closer everyone becomes, the more right it feels.

Falling in love forces Nathan to face his biggest fear, and when hearts -- both big and little -- are on the line, the only thing scarier than needing Jenna and her kids so much is losing them all.

This book was both heartwrenching and relatable. It felt like it was real, it was truth and it was about 2 people who were perfect for each other not only because they connected but also because they filled holes for one another.

Let me explain.

Nathan and Jenna meet and connect because Nathan is still lost after the death of his wife. He's past grieving deeply but still dealing with the damage to his heart and his new normal. And, as often happens, he is struggling. He's not sure how to navigate the day to day in his world. Jenna, however, has it figured out and can help.

I love that he never sees Jenna as a substitute for his wife, that he is ready, reluctantly at first, to move into all of the areas where he can find the new balance in his life.

This book is romantic and it's heartfelt. It's an incredibly strong depiction of romance, of life, of change and also of rebirth.

I enjoyed and recommend this title.

I am such a sucker for a single dad story-they're one of my biggest weaknesses. Down Too Deep took it a step further, giving us a single mom and a single dad, both at different points of their journey. It was sweet and wonderful to watch them connect and see how their story would play out.

I really liked Jenna. I felt she was down to earth and oh so relatable. I could easily see myself getting together with her and just hanging out. She's smart, kind and loyal. Basically, the kind of woman you'd want on your side.

Nathan, oh sweet and sexy Nathan. This man! He's such a trier. He has a bit of a rough patch trying to figure things out, how to balance and appreciate his life. He loves his daughter-don't get me wrong-but it's beautiful to watch his relationship with her blossom.

These two complete each other. That might sound corny, but it's true. They fill that part that is missing in the other. I love their flirting, their attempt to fight the inevitable. Their sexy times were on fire, but it was their time together outside the bedroom where you really got to understand them.

I thought this book moved along really well. The writing flowed. I loved the supporting characters and I didn't think they overwhelmed the story at all. It's hard to find the balance when you're including kids, I think, but this author did it very well.

This was a sweet romance. I loved the journey these two took to each other. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it.
