KEEPING HIM BY KENNEDY FOX-BLOG TOUR

Jackson Bishop is your typical playboy.

Unpredictable, charming, and overly confident.

Growing up in Texas, the ranch life is all he’s ever known. Horses and late night partying are his lifestyles, and all the local girls know it too. Riding lessons aren’t the only things taught at the stables, and he makes sure clients never leave unsatisfied. Everyone knows Jackson’s a wild card, but not everything is as it seems. He may be a womanizer on the surface, but he’s hiding deep feelings about the one who’s had his heart since he was a teen. Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as roping her in and claiming her as his.

Kiera Young is well-known for her sassy nature and outgoing personality. Though she’s one of the best horse trainers in the area, she’s never been able to tame her best friend and the man she’s secretly loved since she was fifteen—Jackson Bishop. She’s waited years for him to confess his true feelings but as time goes on, she decides she’s done waiting. Kiera finally meets a man who promises to give her the world, and when he pops the question, she says yes—knowing they’re both ready to settle down and start a family.

Even if her heart beats for another man.

Jackson’s certain he’s lost Kiera for good and has no one to blame but himself. However, on the day of her wedding, he can’t bring himself to watch the woman he loves walk down the aisle to someone else. Kiera’s already having second thoughts and knows she can’t get married without his support. It’s not until she’s at the altar that she realizes she can’t let Jackson go and will do whatever it takes to keep him—even if it means running out on her own wedding.

ADD TO GOODREADS

I've been a fan of this series from the beginning and I have eagerly anticipated this story. I love, love, love friends to lovers books and I enjoy the writing style of these authors. As soon as this book hit my kindle I was ready to dive in. Overall, I enjoyed this story.

I believed wholeheartedly in Jackson and Kiera's friendship. I enjoyed getting to see how they grew up together, what made them into the people they are now. I felt like I was on a rollercoaster with them at times but it was a good ride.

Things didn't always go smoothly for these two. There were moments I was so frustrated with both of them that I wanted to reach through my kindle and shake them. But Jackson won me over. So completely. I didn't see his full swoonworthy potential in the other books, to be honest, but he blew me away in this one.

I enjoyed seeing the other characters from this series here and I'll be sad to say goodbye to them (until I re-read them LOL). I think the plot moved along well, and while there were many flashbacks I think it worked overall. I enjoyed this title and look forward to what these authors will come up with next.

Jackson and Kiera dance around one another in the first 3 books, so by time you get to this one (if you have read the others) you have a pretty good idea as to the scenario and the reasons Jackson is not at all happy that she is engaged to someone else.

The authors use flashbacks and tell the story of their history. Partly, I think, as a way to keep it from seeming like she jumps from one man to another. And, I see the reason they did this...but at the same time, I thought too much time was spent on the development of the past, and of their younger selves and relationship. And, it didn't really feel like a slow burn, as the characters are attracted to one another the entire time, and the present time events happen quickly enough that Kiera is worried about people finding out about them too soon, as not enough time has passed since she left her former fiancee during the wedding.

I enjoyed this title, overall. And, I do see the reason the authors chose to make this a longer title with the focus on developing the relationship from when they were younger.

The chemistry is there, and I think at least for readers who have read the other stories, it is nice to see things work out for them.

I recommend this title.
