I’m over this year, and I’m over relationships. I’ve learned that the only person you can count on in life is yourself. Moving forward, I’m living for me. Working toward standing on my own two feet, that’s my goal. Funny how meeting him changed my path.
It’s been years since I’ve been back in this small town of West Virginia for more than a day or two. Spending time here brings back a lot of fond memories. When I stopped by an old friend’s bar, I was expecting to grab a drink and catch up. What I didn’t expect was her.
We share an undeniable attraction, but we continue to fight it.
Until one night in Vegas changes everything.
However, once I got past this, I enjoyed the book. Saylor and Rhett have chemistry and I loved their first meeting, his reasons for not liking her, and the way they slowly warm up to one another. It was sweet, it had heat, and I enjoyed it.
I liked the supporting characters, and I thought they added a lot to the story without overpowering it. The reason Rhett was back in town was, in a lot of ways, more believable than Saylor's and I liked that there was always a reason for him to stay, and that you knew this from the beginning.
There isn't a lot in the story that is angsty, which was kind of nice. Sometimes, it is great to read a story that doesn't keep your heart jumping every chapter, but lets you enjoy the story and lets you slide into the romance with the characters.
Overall, the story was sweet, you liked the characters, and you mostly believed the actions of the people. I recommend this title.
