When you read a Sandra Brown novel, if she is a new author to you, you are immediately engaged. If you have read her other books, you wait for the "gotcha" moment. The revelation that you know is coming, and once it happens, all that you think you knew about the book will be turned upside down.
Rye and Brynn have an instant connection, although that connection is colored by suspicion and a doubt of the other's motives. And, by all those twisty, turny, cliffhanger moments that always live in a Sandra Brown tale of suspense.
The gotcha. Well, it got me. In the same way that it always does, even though I was expecting it, and I knew it was coming, it still got me. That, right there, is the real talent of Sandra Brown. Even though you know it is coming, it still sneaks up on you and grabs you.
