HEARTBREAKER BY KATIE MCCOY-RELEASE BLITZ

Blurb

Five guys. One bar. And a whole heap of sexy trouble…

Liam Callahan is devastatingly handsome, infuriatingly aloof and… my new boss? Put that at the top of the list of ‘Things I Wish I’d Known (Before I Was Panting in His Arms During a Sizzling Midnight Make-out Session.)’

My bartending gig at Rascals was supposed to be a fresh start for me. Now I’m juggling drink orders AND red-hot sexual tension - but I refuse to let Liam’s smoldering stares throw me off my game…

Until one late night leads to another. And another. Liam has a reputation as Mr Heartbreaker, but he’s revealing a whole new side of himself: funny, playful, and most definitely NSFW. But this rascal has made a rule of never getting in too deep, and despite the real connection between us, something’s holding him back.

Can we find a way to put the past behind us and move on? Or will my new beginning end in heartbreak before it’s even begun?

Find out in the hot new stand-alone romance from Katie McCoy!

#1 Rascal
#2 Wingman
#3 Heartbreaker
#4 Soulmate - Oct 15th
#5 Troublemaker – Dec 10th

Liam and Juliet (not Jules, as far as he's concerned) have a steamy initial encounter and then walk away. To both of their surprise, he's her new boss.

Liam has a plan. Life is supposed to go a certain way and certain things are supposed to happen. All according to plan.

Juliet had a plan. Was living the life she wanted until an accident changed things for her and made her life go in a different direction.

Both of them come to the relationship after hitting a wall, so to speak, and realizing that sometimes the things that want have become things that are not attainable or that look different than they thought.

So, they date casually. And then it's more serious...and then it's just...more.

Watching them figure this out, as well as enjoying their scorching connection, made this book a lot of fun.

I enjoyed this title and I recommend it.

TRICK PLAY BY MAX MONROE-BLOG TOUR

Booze, women, and brotherhood—that’s what my good friend Quinn’s bachelor party should have been.

Booze, one mysterious raven-haired woman, and an arrest—that’s what it was.

As Cam Mitchell, a New York Maverick and one of the best tight ends in the professional football league, my to-do list should be pretty simple.

Play ball.
Get laid.
Have fun.

But after one hour with a stripper named Trixie, that list of mine has shifted dramatically.

Tell Quinn to call my lawyer.
And, for the love of God, don’t get fired from the Mavericks.

I swear, I tried to make it stop there.
But one tiny thing keeps finding its way to the very top…

Find out more about the dark-haired beauty with the big blue eyes and make her mine.

Too bad it’s a hell of a lot more complicated than that.

How do you fall in love with a woman whose real name you don’t know?

Well, ladies and gentlemen…I’m about to find out.

I love sports romance. I love Max Monroe. When you put the two together I do a little happy dance-without fail. I enjoyed this story and it definitely left me with a smile on my face.

This is a hard book to review without spoiling-in my opinion. It's one you just need to go into and experience. This had sections I just didn't see coming but made total sense. I enjoyed the ride Cam and Trixie went on.

I liked Trixie and I loved Cam. I thought they had a good connection, and I really did believe in the two of them. The sex was hot, steamy and fun.

The writing was fun, the plot was not what I expected. I love the supporting characters, they were a blast. I really enjoy Max Monroe's writing style and this book was no exception. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it.

Cam and Trixie (not her real name) meet in a strip club, and she is a stripper.

But, a stripper isn't really a great match for a NFL player, and one who spends time on the news, in the spotlight, and in the public eye.

Try telling this to Cam. Trixie tries, and really doesn't get far, as his attraction to her is one that he doesn't want to fight.

Max Monroe either works for me, or they don't. I enjoyed this one. Although, it is a bit hard to review as there are some spoilers of some major plot points that you need to give away to really write much about this title. So, I am going to leave this as saying that I enjoyed it.

I recommend this title.

HUSBAND MATERIAL BY RAINE MILLER - ARC REVIEW AND RELEASE BLITZ

She left me the week before our wedding.

Said I wasn't "husband material."

Actually, I'd have to agree with my ex on that matter...because I'm just better off alone.

But everything changed for me the day I met a mysterious beauty sketching on the beach.

Giselle…

We had one magical night together...and then she was gone—a free-spirited angel who flitted away with the dawn.

I searched until I found her again.

And now I can't let her go...because I might just be husband material after all.

*Husband Material is the third book in the LEFT AT THE ALTAR series in a collaboration of six New York Times Bestselling Authors: J. S. Scott, Ruth Cardello, Raine Miller, Sawyer Bennett, M. Malone, and Melody Anne.

This is, surprisingly, my first title by Raine Miller, and I enjoyed it. It's a shorter story, so it is instalove, which works when it is shorter as there just isn't the time to fully develop the backstory and the events leading up to the relationship.

Gage was jilted...recently and seemingly over his socks never ending up in the hamper.  However, the reader and Gage himself understand this was merely the final straw, the last thing his ex mentioned before being completely done with him.  So, he decides he is not one for relationships and romance is off the table.

Until he sees Giselle, his French beach fairy and realizes that maybe it was only partly his fault that his ex left him, and that sometimes, it is all about the person you are with making you willing to do more, to hunt them down, to see if you can find them again when what you had was supposed to be one night, and maybe to even be willing to chase them around the world, if it comes to that, because what you have is worth fighting for.

I enjoyed this title, and I believed the characters.  I wanted more of them, which happens a lot in a shorter story.  But at the same time, I thought the parts we were part of, and the parts the author skipped over for space, worked well and allowed the story to flow.

As I mentioned, this is my first title by this author, but it won't be my last.  I recommend this book.

About CD Reiss:

_21A6258_pp-fb.jpgCD Reiss is a New York Times bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn't pick up she's at the well hauling buckets. Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master's degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels. She's frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn't ever gotten her out of chopping that cord of wood. If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

DIRTY, RECKLESS LOVE BY LEXI RYAN - BLOG TOUR & ARC REVIEW

LOVE_BLOG TOUR.jpg

dirty_amazon
I’m in love with a man who tried to kill me. At least that’s what they tell me . . .

Six weeks ago, paramedics found me unconscious in my own home. Beaten. Bruised. Hardly breathing. When I woke up, I couldn’t remember the last three years or anything about my life in Jackson Harbor. They tell me my fiancé, Colton McKinley, is on the run for what he did to me. They tell me I’m safer if I stay away.

I don’t care if my memories ever come back. I want nothing to do with those missing years . . . until a sexy stranger with angry eyes shows up on my doorstep and demands I stop ignoring him.

Levi Jackson is my fiancé’s best friend, but seeing him sparks something inside me. As the truth unravels in my mind, I know they’re wrong about Colton. My own secrets are far more dangerous than the man I was engaged to.

I return to Jackson Harbor to search for answers and find myself running from a faceless boogeyman and seeking refuge in Levi’s arms. And in his bed.

I can’t deny my feelings for Levi. But as the pile of lies between us grows, I realize that sometimes the truth can’t set us free. It may be the very thing that could destroy us.

This was one of those books where the blurb really draws you in.  The idea that the heroine lost her memory, doesn't remember the ex who may, or may not, have beaten her...and who happens to be best friends with Levi.

Ellie is having a rough time in her romantic life.  She doesn't remember the incident that resulted in her injuries, her family wants her to stay with them instead of moving back to her home, and potentially keeping her from remembering what happened.

There was a lot in this one that was not romantic, and it detracted at times from the romantic plot of the story.  I liked Levi and Ellie together, and the fact that she doesn't remember anything about her previous relationship assists with the believably of the new relationship.  But, while Ellie doesn't know the close timeline between one relationship and the other, the reader does.  And, this made it difficult for me to fully invest in the relationship.

I did enjoy this title overall, and it was interesting to see the way the story developed.  While I did have some minor issues with the plot, I do recommend this and I did enjoy the title overall.

The man searches my face. “That’s why you won’t come home. You’re afraid of Colton.” “I don’t want anything to do with that life.” He exhales heavily and rolls his shoulders back, as if he’s trying to shake off a ghost. “That’s not fair to the rest of us. To everyone who loves you, everyone who was sick with worry when they put you into that coma. Not. Fucking. Fair.” I shrug. “Maybe losing a child and almost dying has made me a little selfish.” His gaze drifts down to my stomach, and I cover it with my hand without thinking. “I’m sorry about the baby.” I nod, tears springing to my eyes. “Me too.” So sorry. “I understand if you want to live here now, but don’t cut us out. We all lost something that night.” “Did you?” He narrows his eyes. “You think I didn’t care? That this was all some game to me, and losing you was nothing?” I wrap my arms around my chest, as if the pressure might weaken this force pulling me toward him by the solar plexus, this inexplicable need to be closer and let him wrap me in his arms. “Losing me? When was I ever yours to lose?” He jerks his gaze away from me, slides off his stool, and downs the rest of his beer. “Thanks. I guess that clears up where we stand after everything.” I open my mouth to apologize but swallow the words and meet his steady gaze. Then he backs away and grabs his bags off the bar. He pulls an envelope from his pocket and hands it to me. “I was going to leave this for you with the barista next door, but I guess I can save myself the trouble.” “What is it?” I ask, staring at the crisp black calligraphy that reads Ellie Courdrey. “An invitation to Ava and Jake’s wedding. Despite what you seem to think of me, I’m not fucking my future sister-in-law.” “Their wedding?” He nods. “They thought about canceling after everything, but . . .” He stares at me for a long beat. “They decided to put love first.” That feels like a jab. At me? At them? I don’t know. “I don’t want to go back there.” “Maybe it’s not always about what you want.” He shrugs as if it’s no different to him either way, but I can tell by the tension in his shoulders that it matters a lot. He steps forward—too close—and I let him, closing my eyes at his scent. Then a flash. He’s over me. The weight of him presses into my hips, his calloused hands holding my face, his fingers in my hair. “You’re sure?” I nod. Slide my hands down his back and lift my hips. “Yes. Please.” He searches my eyes. “No regrets.” I hold on to the memory of this man, wanting to examine it, to figure out what it means, but I’m too distracted by his closeness in this moment. He’s big. Strong. Warm. He lowers his mouth to my ear. “I never stopped loving you. Even when you told me to. Even when you chose him.” And then he walks away.
