CUFFED BY HIS CHARM BY STACEY KENNEDY - REVIEW

A tabloid scandal unites a powerful mogul and a woman from the wrong side of the tracks in this tantalizing novel from the USA Today bestselling author of Bound Beneath His Pain and the Club Sin series.

The multimillionaire owner of a chain of successful Irish pubs, Gabe O’Keefe loves being in the spotlight almost as much as he loves women. But when all his secrets are exposed in a shameless tabloid, his glistening reputation takes a hit. What hurts most is learning who sold him out: sweet and sensual McKenna Archer, his own employee. Gabe thought he could trust her. But now he’s got bigger problems than keeping his hands off McKenna.

After putting a difficult past behind her, McKenna would never betray Gabe. But she knows someone who would: her brother, a compulsive gambler who owes money all over town. To make things right, McKenna will have to set aside her feelings for her boss. Easier said than done. Gabe oozes pure temptation. But when they team up, McKenna sees that he isn’t the manwhore she always thought. He’s strong. He’s real. And the heat between them is the only thing that makes sense anymore.

This is the 4th in the series and I have been looking forward to Gabe and McKenna's story. The beginning was interesting and I was really looking forward to where this was going to go and the tension that was created by the beginning of the story and the revelations that followed soon after.

But, then something happened and the characters in this fell a little flat to me, and they seemed to just accept easily the things that were happening. While this is not always a bad thing, and I do enjoy the romance novels that involve characters sliding into their relationship and staying there, for some reason this didn't totally work for Gabe and McKenna.

I am not saying that the book was bad, or that I didn't enjoy it...it wasn't and I did...but I think I wanted more of the angst and the tension that was promised at the beginning.

It was nice to see the resolution of this, and the chance to see all of the other characters happy, and I did enjoy this overall.

I do recommend this title, especially if you have read the others.

SAVAGE BY L.A.FIORE-RELEASE BLITZ

They call him a monster.

Pale blue eyes as cold as ice that see right through you.

He’s hard.

He’s damaged.

He’s dangerous.

He lives in a castle fit for a fairy tale, but he’s no prince.

He’s savage.

He’s brutal.

He’s a killer.

By an act of fate, our worlds collide.

They call him a monster, but he is my salvation.

First, I am going to say that this is a dark romance. You should have caught that by the blurb, but in case you didn't, this is a dark romance...and, it holds to the idea that not all romance is flowers and rainbows...that sometimes the flowers in the romance also have thorns, and those flowers are great too...but they are different.

I love dark romance. The darker the better, if the hero is a killer, in the mafia, anything like that...bring it. So, the blurb had me dying to read this one even before the author had finished writing it. Now that I have finished, I wish I could start it over.

LA Fiore has a talent for writing the character who isn't the "perfect" hero. Twisted, a little damaged, with skeletons and ghosts in his past. But, the ride watching these men fall in love, well, there isn't a better ride out there.

I loved this book. I sent more than one PM to the author as I was reading (sorry about that, Ms. Fiore, LOL) and I was sad to see it end.

Brochan is sexy, and mysterious, and swoon worthy. And damaged. But, you still like him.

Lizzie is interesting, and you like her, and loyal and caring. And damaged.

It is that they are both just a little damaged that really makes them work. They relate to one another, Lizzie understands why he does the things he does, and more important than that, in Lizzie, Brochan is finally able to find someone who he believes sees him. Once he opens up to this possibility, there are all sorts of things going on in the world that he realizes he has never let himself see.

Telling what those things are would be a spoiler...and I would hate to do that.

At its core, this is a fairy tale with its share of beasts, and magic, and castles and damsels, and villains and most of all, a hero who doesn't know until the story gets close to ending that he is in a fairy tale and he is worthy of that happy ending.

I recommend this title.

Well let me start by saying I don't consider myself to be the biggest fan of dark romance. The circumstances, and if I'm being honest, the author has to be just right for me to read it. I'm so, so glad I read this book from L.A. Fiore. I've enjoyed works from this author in the past and loved this book as well.

This book? I'm not even sure where to begin. It's such a rich story, both in dialogue and setting. I couldn't help but be sucked in when I started reading.

This wasn't always an easy book to read. There was plenty of heartache to go around for sure. But there was more than that. There was healing and love-and the journey these two took to get there was amazing. It wasn't smooth, it wasn't easy, but it was right for them.

I loved both the hero and the heroine in this book. Lizzie had some fire to her and she was so smart, and she had such a big heart. Brochan definitely was intriguing to me from the start. Sexy, hot, and haunted? Major swoon. I believed in these two together. Their connection felt and seemed very real to me.

While this book broke my heart in spots, it filled it to bursting in others. I don't want to spoil anything so I'm not going to get too in depth about that. It was so well written, so dynamic. I know this is one I'll still be thinking about for a long time to come. I loved this book and recommend it!

L.A. Fiore is the author of several books including Beautifully Damaged, Collecting the Pieces and His Light in the Dark. Her favorite movie is Star Wars, a love her son shares. They hope to build their own Millennium Falcon one day. She would like to meet the Winchester Boys to thank them for enlightening her on the versatility of salt as not just a food enhancer, but as protection from supernatural threats. And she thinks it would be interesting to be a zombie, to get an idea of what life is like as a brain-addicted fiend so she can be their voice to tell their side of the story. She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and kids, their two spoiled cats and their awesome dog.

SPIDER BY ILSA MADDEN-MILLS-BLOG TOUR

From Wall Street Journal bestselling author Ilsa Madden-Mills comes a new standalone romance about a flawed hero and the woman he can’t forget.

SPIDER-FINAL-FULL

Spider, a sexy and forbidden new standalone, is available NOW!

Title: Spider
Author: Ilsa Madden-Mills
Publication Date: November 13th, 2017

From Wall Street Journal bestselling author Ilsa Madden-Mills comes a new standalone romance about a flawed hero and the woman he can’t forget.

"She crossed my path and changed my whole direction."

He calls himself Spider.

I just knew him as the sinfully gorgeous guy with eyes of fire that fate sat next to me on the airplane.

I didn’t know who he really was…British rock star…my stepbrother.

He kissed me because he thought we’d never see each other again. We would.

Everyone warned me about him.

They told me he was ruthless and cold and screwed up.

They said he’d leave me with a hole in my heart.

Maybe I should have listened.

Maybe I should have built up a fortress to keep him out.

But I crumbled instead.

They say an unbreakable thread connects those who are destined to meet. If that’s true, then the moment he sat next to me, we were bound together forever.

He just had to figure it out before it’s too late…

I've been a fan of this author's work in the past and was intrigued by this blurb. It seemed different from the other books I've read from her but I definitely wanted to give it a try. I mean, a British rock star hero, a second chance love story? I'm in!

Rose and Spider are bound together by an invisible tether from a young age. There's just something about one another that calls to the other. They complement each other and just absolutely fit. Together or apart, they're a unit. There were moments I didn't think they would work, but they always managed to somehow.

I liked the development of the relationship between these characters. I think they stayed true to who they were throughout the book-learning to grow and change with one another but not necessarily FOR one another.

This book is sweet, sexy and was a quick read for me. The writing was engaging and honest and kept me in the story. I will say it moved quickly and that it was almost over too soon. I could have used a bit more time with these characters I think...and I know I would have liked maybe a bit more about being a rock star. Overall, I enjoyed this story and would recommend it.

How can one human man be so hot?

Spider sits on my toilet, shirtless, while I dab at his swollen eye. I’m doing my best to keep my eyes averted from the ink on his body, the way his tattoos swirl underneath his jeans, the way his chest is carved from stone.

Of course, I’m the stupid person who suggested he remove his shirt so I could see if he has any bruising on his chest. A cracked or broken rib can cause a lot of pain, and I want to be thorough, that’s all—I swear to baby Jesus.

He grinned at my request and whipped it off—which is the reason I’m now a mess.

There’s hardly any room to breathe with him in my small bathroom. I wipe at the spot of blood on his cheek as he watches me stoically, never taking his eyes off me, tracking my every movement.

“This will look worse tomorrow,” I murmur, just to ease the tension. I stand between his spread legs, acutely aware of his fresh scent, his pure magnetism. My hands shake and I have to focus to push an image of me straddling him, both of us naked, out of my head. I want to run my tongue over the tattoo on his neck. I want to bite him like an animal while he—

Good grief, Rose, stop the fantasy!

“You’d make a good nurse,” he says softly, his long black lashes fluttering softly against his chiseled cheekbones.

“Doctor of Psychology,” I correct him.

“Your dream?”

“Yes.” Although right now I’m dreaming of him… “I know that feeling. That’s how music is to me.” His golden-brown eyes watch me as I reach over to the medicine cabinet for more antiseptic and antibacterial cream, my chest perilously close to his face. I swear my nipples are reaching for him.

“Why psychology?”

I nod, pretending like I’m not all discombobulated. “My granny mainly. She loved to read people—literally. She ran a little palm-reading business out of her home before she died. All the old ladies of the neighborhood would come to see her. She’d make them coffee and they’d just…talk. She’d tell them what they needed to hear while I sat on the floor next to her and listened. There wasn’t any magic involved of course.” I laugh. “But…she was incredibly intuitive. She just got people. If someone twitched or looked left or right while they were talking, she’d have a reason for it and she’d tell me all about it after they left.”

“I think I would have loved your granny.” He curls an arm around me, tugging me close until my chest is a hair’s breadth away from his face. I recall our epic kiss on the plane. I feel the pressure of his taut thighs and my breath quickens as desire unfurls inside me.

A hum warms my blood. I want him—desperately.

And it’s entirely foolish.

He’s my stepbrother.

He doesn’t call girls back.

“Why does it seem like I’ve known you forever?” I ask, feeling myself gravitating closer.

He thinks about it, pushing a piece of hair out of my eyes. Cupping my nape, he pulls me in tighter until our noses meet. The back of his hand caresses my cheek and the heat from his touch burns, yet there’s a tautness in the roped muscles of his arms, as if he’s holding himself in check.

“Because I am you,” he says softly. “We’re so much alike, it’s staggering.” He pauses and stares deep into my eyes.

I nod. I can’t think. He’s so close to me, his eyes burning into mine. He closes his eyes and exhales. “I want you, Rose. You’re intoxicating.”

I suck in a sharp breath, our lips inches apart.

Is he going to kiss me? I want him to.

His eyes open after the silence has gone on too long, a smirk forming around his mouth. “You scared of me, Rose?”

Never.

“I’m scared you’ll rip my heart out.”

He stares at the LOST tattoo on his hand. “I probably will.”
