CRANK BY ADRIANA LOCKE-RELEASE BLITZ

Title: Crank
Series: The Gibson Boys #1
Author: Adriana Locke
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Cover Design: Kari March
Release Date: November 10, 2017

Blurb

This is one mistake Sienna Landry can’t buy her way out of.

As Walker Gibson looks at her, then at the damage to his precious truck (that she may or may not have accidentally inflicted), she knows she’s in trouble. It’s not the busted headlight and dented grill that’s sunk her though. It’s the downright sinful man in front of her that’s the problem.

The small town mechanic is broody. Rough. Smells like engine grease and gasoline and Sienna isn’t sure why that’s so sexy, but it is. It so is. She’s ready to peel off her panties at the drop of his wrench.

He wants her too. She can feel it when he brushes against her. Experience it as he presses her against the wall of the shop. It’s thinly veiled in his deep, brown eyes when he looks at her like she’s everything he’s ever wanted. So why won’t he give in?

The damage to Walker’s truck is the first of many mistakes between the two of them, ending with truths that rock Sienna’s world. Nothing can fix her broken heart except the love of a man that won’t, maybe even can’t, love her back.

Crank is a standalone romance in a new small town, blue-collar series from USA Today bestselling author Adriana Locke. Join readers everywhere as they fall in love with the delicious Gibson Boys.

Buy The Book

I'm a fan of Adriana Locke so when I saw she was starting a new series I knew I wanted to check it out. Crank had me laughing, sighing and wanting to shake both our hero and heroine at different moments. It was a fun, sweet read and I loved it.

I'm certainly no stranger to Sienna Landry having read previous books from Ms. Locke-but if you haven't read any of the Landry books (umm, what are you waiting for) don't worry, Crank is absolutely a standalone. I liked Sienna, I got her insecurities, her doubts. She has some pretty strong opinions about what she thinks she wants in a future relationship and watching her navigate through those feelings in regards to Walker was sweet. She's stronger than she gives her self credit for, is sweet and loyal to the core. I loved her growth!

Walker...well, he had me swooning-even when I wanted to shake him. He fought his very obvious attraction to Sienna so hard-for reasons I won't get into here-so watching him fall was great. He's a tough guy who loves his Nana, a homecooked meal, his small town and friends and family. I will say there was something that bothered me about him that I think took a bit too long to get through, but I did love him.

I like these two together. They had me laughing and sighing. Their sexy times were off the charts. But they shared a deeper emotional connection, even right away, though neither wanted any part of acknowledging that.

I thought the pacing in the book, one issue aside, really worked. These two both had issues they were working through. Things they needed to figure out on their own-and they did. I loved the small town aspect of this and all of the supporting characters, new and old, had me smiling. I loved this book and can't wait to read the next in this Gibson Boys series. I recommend this title.

Walker and Sienna were interesting and I liked them as a couple. I thought their initial meeting was amusing and different, which is difficult in a romance.

I liked the relationship of the central characters as well as that of the other characters in the story. This is a new series, but it is also interconnected, which appealed to me. Series titles, even loosely connected ones like these are, can start to get a little stale as they take place in the same "world" and I like the idea of moving the character to another world to tell Sienna's story.

There are references to characters in the Landry family, but you do not need to have read all of the books, or even some of them, to pick up in this story and there are no major spoilers about the books that feature the other characters.

There were some places where the timeline seemed to skip a bit and not quite work and there were events that seemed like it took a few weeks, but just took a few days in book. I have read other titles by this author and find that this is the case as well, and this is my biggest criticism of this author.

Overall, I enjoyed the story, and I liked the setup for the new Gibson boys series and the way it jumped off from the Landry stories with Sienna but is still going to be able to move to a new story, with new characters, in a new world.

I recommend this overall.

AN EX FOR CHRISTMAS BY LAUREN LAYNE-BLOG TOUR

Named Best Book of the Month by Amazon

AN EX FOR CHRISTMAS
Love Unexpectedly
Lauren Layne
Releasing Nov 7, 2017
Loveswept

She’s making a list—and checking it twice. But is there a nice guy among all her naughty exes? The New York Times bestselling author of Blurred Lines returns with a charming friends-to-lovers rom-com.

When a psychic tells spunky, superstitious Kelly Byrne that she’s already met her true love, she becomes obsessed with the idea of tracking him down before Christmas. Kelly immediately writes up an “Ex List” and starts contacting old boyfriends to figure out which one is the one. When her college sweetheart rolls into town, Kelly convinces herself that they’re meant to be. The trouble is, sparks are flying with someone she’s never given a chance: her best friend, Mark.

Mark Blakely has watched the guys on Kelly’s list break her heart, and he’s not looking forward to watching them do it all over again. Mark’s always been there for her, but the timing’s never worked out for their relationship to be something more. Now, just as Mark is ready to move on, the sexual tension between them is suddenly off the charts. With Christmas morning around the corner, he just hopes Kelly will wake up and realize that everything she wants has been right in front of her all along.

NOW AVAILABLE!

One of the best friends to lovers romances I have ever read...because you really believe that they are friends. There is a development of that relationship in the story and there is a history between Kelly and Mark that makes them not only interesting but you want to see them work out.

Kelly is oblivious. Mark is in love with her. But, he is also her friend and he supports her. Even when her crazy scheme has her making a list and revisiting her ex-boyfriends because a psychic tells her that her true love is someone she has already met.

Yes, the story isn't necessarily original. But, and this matters, the romance genre is tough. There have to be 2 strong characters, they have to have and develop chemistry, and there is a happily ever after heading your way...so, within this formula it is the challenge of the author to find a way to make the story feel fresh and new. The beauty of this story is the characters, and the writing, as you are charmed and engaged by both, leaving you wanting to keep reading, to know what happens next, and to see how long it takes Kelly to figure out what is right in front of her.

The scenes with them, once she finally figures out what is right in front of her, are wonderful and the side of Mark, the one where he finally gets a chance at the girl, are wonderful and are some of the best I have read. There is something so compelling with reading about someone who is finally getting to have the experience (and the girl) that he has wanted forever. Yes, there are bumps and a few hurdles for them to get past, but they are so worth it to get to the end.

This is a holiday romance. I don't read them as a rule. I picked it up because it is a Lauren Layne, and I will read anything by her. I recommend it, and would read it again, because I absolutely loved it.

I love, love, love a good holiday romance. Add in the elements of a friends to lovers trope and I'm toast. Lauren Layne made this book fresh, fun and sweet and I absolutely loved it!

I can read holiday romance any time of year-and I think I'm in the minority in saying that. Which is funny because I don't like to listen to holiday music until after Thanksgiving...but a book? I just love falling into that holiday setting.

Quite frankly, I adored Kelly. I loved her smart, superstitious, sassy self. She was quirky and not afraid of that. It was fun watching her plot and work her way through her list, almost missing what readers were dying for her to realize.

Mark was so patient...and determined. His determination to show Kelly that they were right for each other? Total swoon factor! Plus, who doesn't love a man that can cook? Mark was hot, sexy and had me sighing.

There's a connection between these two that is so much more than just sexy times. They have a shared history, shared loves and dislikes. They know each other inside and out-so they think. I loved watching them unravel for each other, truly showing the other WHY they were just right for one another.

The writing here was sharp and fun. Lauren Layne is a one click author for me because she always engages me as a reader; she has a knack for pulling me into the story and making me feel like I'm there with her characters. This holiday romance definitely put me in the Christmas spirit-and I loved every moment of it. I absolutely recommend this book!

HOOKING UP BY HELENA HUNTING - ARC REVIEW

Amalie Whitfield is the picture of a blushing bride during her wedding reception–but for all the wrong reasons. Instead of proclaiming his undying love, her husband can be heard, by Amalie and their guests, getting off with someone else. She has every reason to freak out, and in a moment of insanity, she throws herself at the first hot-blooded male she sees. But he’s not interested in becoming her revenge screw.

Mortified and desperate to escape the post-wedding drama, Amalie decides to go on her honeymoon alone, only to find the man who rejected her also heading to the same tiny island for work. But this time he isn’t holding back. She should know better than to sleep with someone she knows, but she can’t seem to resist him.

They might agree that what happens on the island should stay on the island, but neither one can deny that their attraction is more than just physical.

Filled with hilariously scandalous situations and enough sexual chemistry to power an airplane from New York City to the South Pacific, Hooking Up is the next standalone, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy from Helena Hunting, the New York Times bestselling author of the Pucked series and Shacking Up.

Amalie "Amie" and (I am not telling you here) have amazing chemistry. This matters in any romance, but due to who he is, and the details of the plot, it is REALLY important for this title.

The book is a push and pull as she tries to deal with her attraction to her man with no name and deal with the things that have happened to her recently.

Egads, this is a tough review to write without spoilers. This book is hilarious, there are some situations that are cringe worthy with embarrassment, but are handled with the humor and heart that readers have come to expect from Helena Hunting.

the balance of the comedy and humor with the romance and the chemistry was excellent, and their first sexual encounter is scorching, both because of who they both are, the situation they find themselves in, and the writing that has built up the chemistry so perfectly.

Writing more and avoiding spoilers is going to be a problem, so I am going to stop with the statement that the book is definitely a great read and I recommend it.

AMERICAN KING BY SIERRA SIMONE BLOG TOUR

TOUR_AMERICANKING.jpg

"Enthralling and drop dead gasp-worthy."

- CD Reiss, New York Times Bestselling Author

American King, the stunning conclusion to The New Camelot Trilogy by Sierra Simone is available NOW!!

American-King-PRINT-FOR-WEB

They say that every tragic hero has a fatal flaw, a secret sin, a tiny stitch sewn into his future since birth. And here I am. My sins are no longer secret. My flaws have never been more fatal. And I’ve never been closer to tragedy than I am now.
I am a man who loves, a man whose love demands much in return. I am a king, a king who was foolish enough to build a kingdom on the bones of the past. I am a husband and a lover and a soldier and a father and a president.
And I will survive this.
Long live the king.

I have been torn between DYING to have this book and hoping Sierra Simone would never finish it, simply because I didn't want these characters to go away. American King is the final book in this trilogy and it exceeded my expectations.

Sierra Simone created a world where these characters just lived and breathed. My heart was pounding, I had tears streaming down my face. I thought I knew what might happen with some of the book but there were curves I never saw coming. I truly feel this book was the perfect conclusion for this trilogy.

If you haven't read American Queen and American Prince you MUST do so before reading this. You won't regret it. These characters are so richly developed, so human you can't help but FEEL for them. From the moment I began reading these books these characters were just entrenched in my heart. I wanted the best for Ash, Embry and Greer-even when I didn't know what the best would be. Sierra Simone did.

I won't spoil anything with this book. I'll just say it was perfect to me. Each event that unfolded served these characters and the story perfectly. Was I happy reading this book? No. I wanted to throw my kindle sometimes. Other times I cried. But I never stopped reading because I knew this author was going to give me one hell of a story-and I was right.

I highly recommend this book.

3rd books in a trilogy are tough.  By the 3rd book, you are invested in the characters and when the books are cliffhangers, the readers have had plenty of time to chat about the book, and to formulate their own theories as to how the book will, should and shouldn't end.

I can honestly say I loved the ending...and I was not right about how it ended.  There were a couple of things I was right about, and there were a few things I sort of figured out...but most of it, nope.  Didn't guess right.

And, as such there is really not much I can say about this without spoilers, either from this book or the first 2 in the trilogy.

The writing is strong, and it is flawless. Sierra Simone writes this so well, and you can tell it was a passion project for her.  (If you read the afterword, there is a lot that gives insight into the author and the reasons for writing this series.)

I am going to keep this short.  I am going to say there were tears, and there were moments where I was ready to throw my Kindle, and yell at Sierra Simone.  I loved all 3 of the books, and I loved the ending.

I recommend this book, and this series.

4.2.jpg

When I was twenty-two, I met a prince. He seemed to be the exact opposite of everything I was—loud where I was quiet, smiling where I frowned, careless where I was careful, careful, careful. Embry joined the Army because Vivienne Moore wanted her son to craft the perfect politician's resume. I joined because it seemed like the place to continue my never-ending quest for honor; because becoming an officer in the Army had a certain cachet in my neighborhood; because I wanted to somehow cosmically return the favor for my college scholarship; because the structure and rigid hierarchy of military life appealed to me. Most importantly, I joined because I knew Carpathia was the most dangerous place in the world at the time, and I felt needed there in a way I can't describe. It was like a barometric pressure that made my bones and teeth ache when I tried to resist it. I knew that I was supposed to be there in the same way I knew that God was real or that I was bisexual. It was a fact, even if it couldn't be seen. And after all that, then I see this lieutenant refuse to break up a fight? When we were there on the brink of war and responsible for safekeeping innocents nearby? No. I wasn't an angry person, but I was a disciplined one, and the one thing I couldn't tolerate in other people was a lack of it. I only meant to shake some sense into him, to tell him clearly and unmistakably that he wouldn't get away with that shit while I was around, but then he turned, and I saw his face for the first time. And it was over. Done. One look at those winter-blue eyes and those delicate lips and I was finished. One glance at his lean, long body, and I was falling. Every part of me responded with heat and flush and wrenching want, like a hook had been fastened somewhere in my chest and was now giving an almighty tug, and the only thing to ease the ache would be to get closer, closer, closer. I'd never seen a boy so beautiful. Haughty as he was, overindulged and so obviously dissolute, he was the loveliest person, boy or girl, I'd ever seen. I still pinned him against the wall, though. And it was when I had him against the wall with my forearm on his throat and my body trapping his that he sealed his fate. As I was choking him, he looked at me with his whole world in his eyes.
