This is my first title by Tia Louise. I am not actually sure why it took me so long to read her, and I am glad I did.
Tabby and Chad should not like one another. He's the sheriff. She's the town bad girl. The first time he sees her, she is wearing way too little to be climbing, wet, out of a pool. But, he can't stop thinking about her. Or asking her out. Or making it clear that he sees that there is more to her that what she tells people there is, and what they assume.
I think that was my favorite part of this title. There's more to her. And, she knows there is. Even though the town, and her uncle, assume that there isn't. Instead of being too angry about it, she finds a way to use it to her advantage. Chad, however, sees through this. And, in one of my favorite scenes in the book, stands up for her...but in a way that is just subtle enough, he makes it clear that he feels there is nothing wrong with Tabby...just the way she is.
The writing was strong, and the chemistry between the characters was incredibly compelling. I enjoyed watching them fight, and make up, and everything in between.
I recommend this title, and I am looking forward to the next one by this author.

As someone who formerly watched Toddlers and Tiaras occasionally the opening of this book had me laughing. I thought it was a clever opening and it pulled me right into the story. I liked Rebecca. I enjoyed her confidence in herself and in her abilities. She's a strong woman and she's not afraid to show that. I could relate to her and her struggles in the workplace.
I adored Cade. Simply adored him. I have a thing for football players and Cade had me laughing and swooning. He knew he was attracted to Rebecca but he certainly wasn't expecting to feel the way he did about her. It caused some hiccups for them which had me shaking my head in spots, but he's a guy LOL so I expected that.
There's definitely that spark between these two. I loved the progression of their relationship. Cade's pep talks were adorable to me. I truly enjoyed how he supported her. Their relationship felt like it was paced well. It wasn't perfect by any means, but the journey they took was fun for me to go along on.
This book had me laughing for sure. It had me sighing and swooning. It's a book I'll go back and read again. There are spots where it's a tad predictable-but it almost needed to be. It just worked. This is the type of rom-com I could see Sandra Bullock in at the box office.
I enjoyed this book and look forward to the next works from these authors. I recommend this book.
I was not disappointed. Cade and Rebecca had amazing chemistry but you also like them as people, and you like them as coworkers. I loved that Rebecca is allowed to be a strong woman, that she is allowed to be strong and driven, and that isn't an issue for people.
I also liked how much Cade genuinely liked her, even when he was placed into some odd situations, and when he made the wrong decisions too, you believed that, above all, he wanted to do the right thing by Rebecca, and he supported her.
I thought the ending was a little obvious...and maybe a little cliche. Not in a way that was bad enough for me to be unable to enjoy the book, obviously, but at the end I thought the events tied up maybe a little too perfectly and in a way where I found myself saying "I saw that coming" more than once.
That said, overall I enjoyed it a lot...and I am looking forward to the next book by these authors, either separately or as a writing team.
I recommend this title.

This was my first book from Tia Louise-and I enjoyed it. Royalty, drama, suspense AND hot, sexy times? Sign me up, please. I will say that this book is billed as a standalone but there were moments in the book where I wish I had read the prior books so things would make a bit more sense but overall I was able to follow the story.
Ava hooked me from the very opening of the book. My heart was literally pounding for the entire prologue. From there the book has a bit of a time jump, which works but I still wanted to know what had happened in those ten years.
I loved Rowan and Ava together. I truly did. This story drops you kind of in the middle of their story but again, I was able to follow along. They are positively scorching together but they also have such a fierce love for one another. I loved the two of them together. There were some moments were my kindle almost melted from the heat these two generated but it was totally worth it.
I liked the secondary characters here-enough so that I want to go back and read their stories as well. I don't feel they overshadowed the main characters at all.
The writing of this book was spot on. I was captivated from the start. I do have to say that there were a lot of plot threads that were jumped between-and some things I wanted more focus on got less attention than things I didn't really think needed to be spoken of in such detail. But it worked overall.
I liked this book. I do think I would have potentially enjoyed it even more had I read the other books in the series first-but this CAN be read as a standalone. I recommend this book and look forward to reading more from this author.

Moving my mouth, I devour her. She keeps pace with me, and while our bodies are wet and slippery, our mouths are inseparable. Lips move, tongues chase. My eyes skim over her naked body, lightly pink from the water, scuffed from my beard. Then I lean down to consume her mouth again.
Her lips part, and our tongues stroke and taste. I’m ravenous for her. My frustration and tension once more finds release in most pleasurable way. Her fingers grip my arms, and I dip my tongue into her cherry-mint sweetness. I haven’t stopped kissing her since we entered the bath, but now I’m wanting another taste.
Moving down her body, I stop at her breasts, pulling one nipple into my mouth, circling my tongue, teasing her tip. Her back arches, and she moans.
