Scott and Tess were so interesting. I love their first meeting, that it's a little edgy and maybe not the way a meet cute generally happens in a romance, but things like this are why Laurelin is a favorite author of mine.
I also loved their relationship. There was a lot of give and take, and an excellent balance of the "alpha male" with the ideas of power and consent also in the mix in a way that made it work.
I also loved how current this book is...dealing with so many of the issues that are in our world today, but never making me feel like the author had a checklist making sure she hit all of them. And, let's be honest, those books are out there. But ones like this one, that make the world we are in now a part of the story and still manage to make the book sexy are the ones that will endure.
The cliffhanger in this one was one that I sort of saw coming. There is a person in this book who is a presence in it, but entirely off the page. So I figured the cliffhanger would have something to do with this person, and well, it sort of did...but that is all I am going to say.
I enjoyed and recommend this title. I can't wait to see how it ends.
