Doughn't Let Me Go by Teagan Hunter-Release Blast

Slice Book 3

Blurb:

It was just supposed to be one night.

No kissing. No feelings. A wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am tangle in the sheets and we go our own ways.

Only it’s a small town, and I was bound to run into the irresistible Porter Jones again.

I just didn’t expect it to be at my job interview…which he’s conducting.

Now the live-in nanny to his adorable seven-year-old daughter, I’m doing my best to avoid falling for his charms.

Except it’s much harder than either of us anticipated.

What’s a few romps between friends?

No kissing. No feelings. Just fun.

Sounds simple, right?

Right…

I'm an absolute sucker for a single dad story. They can be tricky to pull off, but Teagan Hunter had me cracking up with this book, even while I was falling for Porter. Doughn't Let Me Go was definitely fun and sweet, but did touch on some topics I wasn't expecting. I read this book in one sitting and definitely had a smile on my face when I finished it.

Dory was a trip. She's smart, strong and spunky. I really liked how she handled herself and didn't let things keep her down for long. She didn't know how meeting Porter would change her life, but she took a big leap of faith and I admire that.

Porter? I loved him. I loved his devotion and honesty to his daughter. I wanted to hug him so very badly. He definitely deserved every bit of happiness he worked for.

I liked Dory and Porter together. I absolutely believed in their chemistry. I thought they both did an admirable job of trying to stay away from each other, even as I was cheering them on to kiss. I felt their relationship progressed just right for THEM.

The supporting characters here were fun and had me cracking up. I loved, loved, loved Kyrie. I think she was portrayed very well. Sometimes I think kids in books are the hardest to write well, but this Author nailed it. I felt like I could walk into Slice and be hang out with this crew. I thought the writing flowed well and the pacing was great. I didn't feel like the story was rushed or drawn out; it worked for these characters.

Teagan Hunter really had me grinning with this book. She handled some tough topics as well but didn't turn them into a joke or brush them off. I thought it was very well done. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it.

Meet Teagan Hunter

I'm a Missouri-raised gal, but currently live in North Carolina with my US Marine husband and 9-year-old dog. I spend my days begging him for a cat, and I survive off coffee, pizza, and sarcasm. When I'm not writing, you can find me binge-watching various TV shows, especially Supernatural and One Tree Hill. I like cold weather, buy more paperbacks than I'll ever read, and I never say no to brownies.

Writing is my passion, and this is just the beginning of my journey.
