House of Scarlett is the second book in the Legend Trilogy and should be read after The Fall of Legend, book one.
Gabriel and Scarlett shouldn't work as a couple. They really shouldn't. But, that is probably my favorite thing about these books and this series. Gabriel is a fighter, literally, and club owner from Mississippi and Scarlett grew up rich in Manhattan. You know this from the 1st book, but it's developed in this one and you really get a feel for the characters, for who they are and for what is important to each of them.
As is often the case with 2nd books in trilogies, this one was a lot of character development. You really care about all of the main players by the end of this one...just in time for yet another doozy of a cliffhanger. And, as you have spent the book getting to know them, this one is a little bit stressful. You have a pretty good idea that they are going to be fine...but, it's still a cliffhanger that gets you.
I enjoyed and recommend this title.
