He has a few ideas for the bar. But Jenna . . . well, he’s going to have to rely on cold showers, because she’s been his best friend for years, and that’s a line he just can’t cross.

Until one wild kiss on a dark night changes everything. Now Reece is certain Jenna’s meant to be his.

And with long nights in bed, sensual caresses, and deep, lingering kisses, he sets out to thoroughly convince her that friends can be lovers, too.

**Down On Me is the first in a binge read series by New York Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Publishers Weekly, and #1 International bestselling author of the million copy Stark series, J. Kenner.

Each book in the series is a STANDALONE novel with NO cliffhanger and a guaranteed HEAT!

But even so, you won’t want to miss any in the series. Because then you can answer the question…

Who’s Your Man of the Month?

I was so excited by the idea of this series and couldn't wait to start this first book. I love the friends to lovers trope, I love J. Kenner's writing so when this hit my kindle I settled in to enjoy the ride-and I definitely enjoyed.

Reece and Jenna have been friends for years. They know each other inside and out so neither one wants to jeopardize their lifelong friendship even though they both have feelings for each other simmering beneath the surface. Personally, I love this kind of dynamic. Watching a couple who has known each other in one way learn about each other in a romantic sense? Bring on the swoon.

I thought the chemistry between these two was believable. I liked how they came together. There was plenty of steaminess, which I've come to expect (and love) from this author.

The writing in this book was strong and quick. I loved the supporting characters and am looking forward to how the rest of this series plays out. This was a quick, fun, sexy read for me and I recommend it.

Reece and Jenna are friends, the kind of best friends who know all there is to know about one another, the friends you call when you are stranded on the side of the road at 3am.

But, what they don't know is that they are each in love with the other, and want more than just the friendship, as great as it is.

Then, the issues with The Fix draw them together in a way that is different than before, and all of a sudden the attraction becomes more than they are willing to ignore any longer.

Sometimes the friends to lovers trope works really well and other times it is less smooth. In this one, the transition seemed a little forced and I was not totally on board with the start of their relationship.

Once the plot got moving, I was a little more on-board, but I then was a little torn about how I felt about the ending. I like them together, and I believe they are together for the long term...but the way they got there was more plot driven than emotion. For a bit, I thought the author was going to take a slightly unconventional path with the resolution of their story, but that didn't end up happening.

The idea of the calendar, the 12 men and 12 events to benefit the bar they all want to keep open is an interesting tie for the characters and the stories in the series, and I think it will work well. For the opener of the story, I thought the pacing was strong and the introduction of the secondary characters was well done.

I liked this book overall, and I am looking forward to the rest of the titles in the series.
